The proposed plan basically states that oil companies will be forced to cover the tax while it is on holiday. Oil companies will just raise the price of gas so that they are still making the same percentage of profit.

It could end up that we end up with the opposite party in congress and senate than what we have in the white house. Obama is right. More fluel efficient cars, and alternative engergy is the ONLY long term solution. A federal tax holiday on gas prices sounds ridiculous. It doesn't single out the low income families at the gaspump, and it's a short term solution. In comparison with Norway, where I live, your oil prices are very low, as we pay approx. $8.50 a gallon. However our cars are far more fluel efficient than yours. USA remember this: A small car can bring you from A to B too.

Instead of a gas tax holiday, more interstates should charge tolls. Since our tax dollars are all going to Iraq and our highways are deteriorating, we need to make some sacrifices here at home and actually pay for the services that we use -- including roads. Senator Obama, you need to mention that the US dollar is sinking, hence the oil price going up. And why is the US dollar sinking? Deficits. Why the deficits? Iraq War. Trade imbalance.

You can make them into one narrative. A continuation of Iraq War means more deficit, and more deficit means weaker dollar, and weaker dollar means Oil prices going up and uncontrolled inflation, which drives down the real income of the average American people.
