  • Ho-de-ho-de-ho, sir!

  • Holy shit.... 0_0 /Icame

  • Well ive not heard either of thesed guys sing before...so i went back and listened to a video that said Bob Guiney was singing it.............both sound exactly the same........so SOMEONE is WRONG!!!!

  • I love the rendation of this song. Hugh is an awesome singer. :)

  • You can tell it's Hugh listen to the way he says S

  • @ShakaZuluJoe

Yep this is his american accent. If you look up Hugh singing it with Stephen Fry you hear a little difference since that one has his true accent:) Hugh be awesome.

  • To TnseWlms: Uh, check out Cab Calloway, who did what I think is the original. He was famous for Hi-Dee-Hi-D-Hi...Ho-de-Ho-do Ho. It was a vocal rift, man. Danny Kaye also did a great version w/his impressive double-speak. Hi-Ho by itself sounds like the Seven Dwarfs!

  • hmm I must say that I prefer the way he sung it as Wooster with Jeeves messing up the responses. :D

  • just shocked the shit outta me....in a good though :)

  • hi d hi di hi d ho is the derivative of (hi/ho).

  • James Hugh Calum Laurie... you are my God.

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHH love this song! Where can i buy this song...i don't find it here in Germany! Could anybody help me..pleeeeasse :D

  • DUDE! This could be my new favourite song!

  • Thumbs up for Jeeves and Wooster!

  • He is multi talent... :) I love him! ;)

  • Shit house

  • Awesome version of "Minnie the Moocher". But I prefer the version with Hugh singing the lead, and Stephen Fry providing back-up vocals: "Ho-dee-do-dee-ho, sir." XD

  • @FlippinBooks And me I prefer the version from the CD : SiuBE3rS4BY

What a voice. It has changed a bt since.

A like in second place, the Band From TV version.

In third place the version of the TV show.

  • I love this song! Classic!

  • EEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • it makes me wonder whos better:

    Hugh or House,

    it really makes me wonder!

  • Great arrangement, I likey..........! nice distinctive style

  • if you have any doubt that this is really him singing, listen to the way he says "sh" the way he says it is very distinctive

  • It IS Hugh singing. He is the main vocalist for this song and the others in the band are doing backing vocals.

  • when god made him he gave him all the talents a man can have + that he made him hot

  • He's just so damn....talented!

  • he has an attractive voice. :)

  • @acrankieperson No you're wrong..It is Hugh Laurie singing. If you watch the making of video of this song u can see that Hugh is the lead singer in this song..And the vocals here SOUND like him and NOTHING like Bob...And yes I know what I'm talking about

  • @WestliFerZul actually they are both singing. Hugh starts and than for a second comes in bob and hugh finishes. :D

  • @WestliFerZul actually Hugh sang from 0:10-0:35, rest is the dude from the bachelor

  • @acrankieperson This is hugh singing. Seen him sing it live.

  • @acrankieperson Wasnt this on one of the special features on one of the seasons of house?

  • @acrankieperson Except this sounds nothing like Bob... and everything like Mr. Laurie.

  • @acrankieperson no the reason he sounds better than on jeeves and wooster is because on that he was going for a thing called *comedic effect*, being a comedian this is a thing he does quite a lot

  • @acrankieperson Have you got no ears?

  • @acrankieperson

Evidently you haven't listened to Hugh very much.

  • I am so sorry that this man would not live forever :(

    My idol :D

  • This is BRILLIANT! His voice is actually pretty good! Hugh Laurie is beautiful in just about every way possible! =D

  • man, the arranged is excellent... and laurie is an incredible singer!!!

  • he is the greatest man ever! i love his acter and his way to play music! Love him!

  • He is defianatley best in jeaves and wooster

  • @TheSmilingElephants agreed, Jeeves & Wooster was the magnum opus of both Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie

  • @TheSmilingElephants I like House better. . . . .

  • i love this song. he's so multi-talented. i love his voice. robert downey jr can also sing and they are sort have something in common with 1 another

  • The best about hugh is he seems to have as great time...this guy is having fun...i am a pianist...i can tell you Hugh is quite good at this

  • OMG i know hugh's voice is good but this IS actually AUTOTUNED.

    It's really easy to realize:0:46-1:00 and 2:09-2:21

i think he's a good singer though , but in my opinion, producers didn't need to do it :S

  • @xXxXCastiXxXx Perhaps it was stylistic but you're right, it's unnecessary!

  • Ooooh, I got chills! Hugh's interpretation is quite different to Bertie Wooster's. ;-)

  • I only knew the version from Cab Calloway, done in the movie "Cotton Club" Boy, this is soooo much better!! Hugh Laurie ROCKS!!!! as House and everything else!

  • . . . And he's a novelistl! He's written a novel called 'The Gun Seller'. It was SO good - funny & erudite - that I checked to see if he's written another; & a new title was indeed pending (Autumn 09), great! I have now been waiting over a year & :-( it's still not been published. His first novel was way back in 1997. The delay with the second presumably means he's now too busy with all his other endeavours to find time?! Go on Hugh, get it finished please. I can't wait to read 'Paper Soldiers'!

  • A bit better version than what he did on Jeeves and Wooster

  • Very good greatests DR HOUSE!!!

  • oh dear God.... is there anything he can't do? *Swoons*

  • oh dear God.... is there anything he can't do? *Swoons*

  • why the auto-tune, why?

  • @wolfganggangwolfe It's a great version but I agree, the auto tune does take away from it slightly :(

  • WOW!!! Dr.House can sing really,really good!!!!!

  • i dont wat 2 say!!!!!!!!!

he is so damn fucking talnted!!!!!!!!!!!!

lisa eledstein is sooooooooooo freakn' luckey

god i wish i was her lol :) :) i m sooooooooooo buy his albulm!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @clayhammer1000 Lol, why wish you were lisa edelstien? I wanna be his WIFE!

  • hidey hi! hidey ho!

  • xD he just got a record deal a while back! cant wait for his solo album!

  • i cant wait to buy his album when it comes out!

  • Hugh Really needs to do an album....with his songs and when he does other peoples songs.. He does such a great job!

  • @ZeroTolerance4BS hes just signed a deal to record a blues album

  • @stevegrant21 Yeah i read that on Yahoo news this morning i was so happy.. i cant wait til it comes out.

  • Don't forget that he won first place in a sexiest contest. . . . . . . Okay I made that one up. . . . .

  • @Jawashaw1 yes yes he did haha

  • that voice just washes over me, I love it!!! HL has it all!!

  • He's also wicked at Metroid fusion =)

  • He's more than a god. I didn't know that he has got a great voice, amazing !

  • That line about "the king of Sweden" and "things she was needin'" is very clever- you know, the way that they almost rhyme like that.

  • @hlapidu2 check out the clip form jeeves and wooster where hugh , playing bertie wooster sings this song, he makes reference to the same part of the song as yourself. its a funny scene.. plus i think you will find the rendition preferable to this as it is sung in an authentic 1920s style.

  • @2504marcus

Actually, that's the version I was really referring to in my post. I'm a huge Jeeves & Wooster fan, and love whenever Hugh Laurie sings. And I agree; I think the original version is better, especially in J&W when you include Fry and Laurie's hilarious banter.

  • @hlapidu2 sorry i see that now, yes bertie did say he thought the line very clever, jeeves on the other hand was not impressed. good to talk to another j and w fan, they have provided me with hours of entertainment for years. the books are so fuuny , i can recommend for a good belly laugh.

  • Oh God. Now THIS is a man everyone! Yeow! Great singing, Hugh. :) Very, very wide range of talents...Gemini represent. ;)

  • just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh My sweet god *screams* !!! He can do anything !!! :D

  • i think i prefer the original in "jeeves and wooster" =] when will hugh and stephen work together again!?!

  • For those swooning over his talents as both an actor and a singer, prepare for more.. he

    1) was British Junior Champion Rowing, coxed pairs, 1977

    2) was a Cambridge Graduate (3rd class, sign of a good time) in Archaelogy and Anthropology

    3) was a member of the Cambridge Rowing team v Oxford in the 1980 boat race

    4) While also President of the Footlights Revue at Cambridge University same year

    4) and won the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh festival 1981

    yes. He's a bit of a god :¬)

  • and an author!

  • @ridgemont01 He also fought in WW1!! :P

  • @Bucon

And was Prince Regent for a while...

    And an evil German prince...

    And a sheep (Baaaa!)

  • @ridgemont01 he's more than a god ^^'

  • @ridgemont01 He's more than a god. :-)

  • @ridgemont01 yeah he's the author of The Gun Seller..he was planning to come out with another one..but it was suppose to be released in 94..i think..never got around to it though. He doesnt know if or when he's gonna get it out.

  • @ridgemont01 hell yeah!

  • @ridgemont01 He was awarded an O.B.E. (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in 2007 for his services to drama. He'll probably get a Knighthood one day too, then we can call him Sir Hugh. I hope Stephen Fry gets one too.

  • @ridgemont01 he also hates himself and he'll probably do himself in

  • @ridgemont01 he's better than God

  • @ridgemont01 undeniably awesome as he is, he never graduated from Cambridge (sign of an even better time!) See the 'inside the actors studio' interview for confirmation - also it's just an amazing interview with an amazing guy...

  • @ridgemont01 mm, I like Hugh hes great ...but please, going to one of the most privileged University's in the world does give you a huge head start in life.

  • @ridgemont01 wow - I love his singing - just watched a programme where he is singing and playing piano in New Orleans -with all the great blues musicians, and now all this information - what a talented man he is :)

  • Not Jeeves and Wooster...

  • :] OMG this is awesome!!

  • perfect...

  • XD I think its funny that he sang this twice for two different shows

  • @acrankieperson

It IS Hugh Laurie...He does the vocals to this particular song..Bob usually does the vocals, but in this song, Hugh sang it.....IF you hear to other Band from TV songs, you can hear that Bob's voice is distinctly different....And this IS Hugh's voice...You just don't know what you're talking about

  • @acrankieperson he sang this for the house soundtrack, but usually it's Bob singing. I personally prefer Hugh's rendition of THIS song to Guiney's, but ya know...

  • @acrankieperson of course thats hugh! there is footage of him recording that song on youtube

  • i like this version a lot better than the one from Jeeves and Wooster, just sayin! GO HUGH!!!

  • Woow It rocks !! So groovy !!

His voice gives me the tingles !

  • dude his voice is damn similar to danny elfman

  • *Squeals* he's got talent! *faints*

  • @XxlilxlilixX Oh yea he can act, sing, play the:Piano, harmonica, gutair and "the trumpit" and juggle.

    He is totes teh awesome

  • @ XxlilxlilixX....ROFLMAO!!! PRECISELY how I felt the first time I found out he was a musician and singer....Hugh is just the man! :)

  • Have we already heard this song on House ? If so, can anyone tell me in which episode, please ? Thank you!

  • Great voice and hat!

  • such a great great voice

  • Ez nagyon állat! De jó hangja van! Szuper! "I love you so" :D

  • Ahogy mondod! x)

Valahogy nagyon az ő hangjára való..

  • I don't dislike it but his Wooster version is a thousand times better. "Ho-die ho-die ho, sir"

  • Love love love

  • Great!!! Love it!!
