  • fantastic song:D

  • 9 people wish they could play like this

  • This is the best bluegrass performance i have ever had the pleasure to view... Seriously, they deserve a hell of a lot more recognition than they get!!!!!

  • The best Bluegrass line-up since Bro. Bill Monroe. We don't need electricity to play! Awesome song...

  • Burnin'

  • The stupid 9 people who disliked this are at a dub step show. I seriously am so excited to see Alison Krauss and Union Station at Telluride Bluegrass Festival this summer!

  • Awesome!

  • This song should be the Tea Party Anthem. America not Amerika!

  • Lovely Hail Hail Bluegrass

    G/ Armenian

  • This is one hot tune, as a music lover, I can tell this is quality stuff....I can tell by the goosebumps I get when listening to this. Wish I had been there to see this live !

  • I don't even like country/bluegrass music but you can't help but admire the musicianship of these talented people.

  • They are definitely tight!! Truly awesome!!

  • This is America! Go Dem an GOP just do it@

  • i fancy myself a musician... and its videos like this that make me realize how much i actually suck. *tear*

  • @sublimekg but are u surrounded by people that love musc? if you are then ur doing something u love and it will show in how u play

  • @sublimekg its all about getting better friend. its a game between you and yourself

  • @sublimekg chances are you're actually pretty good. these guys really are the best in the world - a way to test this is see if they've been on the transatlantic sessions - a british TV show where the best musicians from Scotland, Ireland and the USA sit around, jam, and play each others songs/tunes. brilliant musicianship, and a great mix of musical cultures, but the point is that only the best get on that show. there are plenty of great players out there with miles to go - us too, perhaps?

  • They all make it look so easy, like they just walk out and make that great sound.

  • Alison and Union station actually sound better live than on a recording. How many bands can boast of that?

  • @CourtneyODonnell this is true

  • Well done sirs and madam, good ol boy music, if you don't listen to this and feel something you don't have irish blood in your veins, I'm white and proud, and I think a whole lot more of you white boys should start showing your goddamn southern pride ,it's ok to be black but its beautiful to be white, start living it brothers and sisters!

  • And I say thank you for the music, Alison and team I thank Jesus for you all.

  • I am a Musician myself. These Players are the Absolutely the best I have ever heard in my life. Fantastic!!!

  • @marlies400 I agree

  • stellar musicians and voices from the heavens are few and far between in popular music; thank you alison and union station!!!

  • when she first came on the scene i didnt like her perhaps it was the song but over the years there have been many ive loved and as u watch her she sings just like she plays with perfect timing and musicianship she is truly a wonder and when they play those ballads and sad ones OMg they give u chills

  • This makes me so happy every time i hear it!!!!

  • awesome music, got love'em all

    greatings from Brazil

  • Some days I think I'd like to come back as Tommy Emannuel, another day maybe Martin Taylor. But just realised it has to be Jerry Douglas.

God's music played by the best (and I'm from the UK...).

  • this is a craft that few can lay claim to, this band can,,alison is special,,,

  • Well, time to go outside and chuck my guitars on the campfire... BTW, anyone know what planet is Jerry Douglass from?

  • Reminds me of "long hard ride" my Marshall Tucker. Both are great !!

  • i like that mane!

  • Great show... I love this....

  • handgemachte Musik, mitreißend, extraklasse..

  • Oh, believe me, I know how talented Ron Block is. Dobro and Banjo are two of my favorite instruments, and damn hard to play well. I know. And Alison, she makes the violin and viola sing as sweetly as her voice!

  • 8 people accidentally pressed dislike.

  • So far, 8 brain deads have listened to this piece.

  • Possibly the tightest band on the planet!

  • @guitarmarv Yeah these guys are unreal. I feel sorry for the people in this world that cannot appreciate what these gifted musicians can do. Oh well, their loss, right?

  • @guitarmarv Emmylou Harris's Hot Band in the late 70's was this good, but there are not many to equal Union Station.

  • Greatest pure musicians in my lifetime, and I am 60 years old!!

  • its the one more thing on my "bucket list" - see alison and union station live!!!

  • The greatest musicians I have ever herd.

  • Tons of energy and clean picking. Love that dobro!

  • not normally my style of music but the talent and synchronization is stellar

  • Insane dobro player, so clean

  • Didn't ever see a solo like that coming from Dan. Didn't know he was so good.

  • I like the banjo in this one... this guy is great too...l

  • Can't wait to their new album comes out in April:)

  • favourite song, Love the palace

  • Puts a smile on my face. Great.......

  • makes you want to cut some rug,

  • my blood begins to boil when i hear chactaw hayride.that's awesome

  • TWEEDLE-DEEDLE-DEE-DAA-DEEDLE-DEE-DAA-DOO !

  • Whoever hit the dislike on this should have their pulse checked by a medical professional

  • @gmexit13 dont you mean medical expert

  • @9669colton Well, an expert might know all about it and how to do it, but a professional actually DOES it. Its an experience thing.

  • @gmexit13 - they just need a good big mama style slap up-side the head! ;)

  • American Music in it's truest form! i wish i had one ounce of their talent.

  • @ctwingert i love this

  • I'm in love <3

  • Warning do not drive and listen to this when driving you will rack up a lot of speeding tickets. OR Warning people with heart conduction don't listen because you may have heart problems. Ha This song is great on those Mondays feelings because I feel powered up then.

  • Alison and AKUS were made for each other. Amazing blend of talent. This is what music is suppose to be.

  • Alison Krauss violin and vocals, Jerry Douglass dobro, Ron Block banjo, Dan Tyminski Martin D-28 6 string guitar, and Barry Bales bass. The finest group of musicians ever put together on a stage at the same time bar none hands down the fat lady has sung.

  • Great, great is one of the best way to make a difficult music that appeals to the wonderful people, Alison is an angel with his fiddle, dobro, banjo, all very well, my big congratulations to a great group from Spain fan, Wow ¡¡¡¡¡¡ God.

  • this is what results from a gathering 4 of the best musicians anywhere. every "country" star in Nashville knows that AKUS our the Gods of Country/Bluegrass/

  • Amazing musicianship all around!

  • the only problem with bluegrass being uniquely american is that it's not....and i love bluegrass!

  • Now that's talent!

  • This is my favorite kind of music. Bluegrass at its best by the best!

  • great performance but its too short!!!

  • I confess I'm still a little unhappy that Jerry seemed to push Adam Steffey out of AKUS... but oh man, this is a great tune. Mr Douglas, you done good!

  • @ddnddn Adam made the decision to leave the band and then Jerry filled on that first tour without Adam Later he joined full time. I got to see the very firs concert of that first tour with Jerry, in Columbia, SC.

  • @rtanner77 Thanks! I didn't know the strory behind the change in personnel.

  • Some people say that jazz is the only uniquely American form of music. I say those people have never heard bluegrass.

  • Jerry Douglas is God. Best dobro player. Alison and Union Station are incredible. I love this DVD.

  • Love how someone says welcome to the south hehe! SO TRUE!

Saying that...Alison is from Texas, Barry is from Tennessee I think, BUT, Ron is from Cali, JD from Ohio, and I think Dan is from Vermont

  • @hawaiiandobroblues Alison Krauss was born in 1971 in Champaign, Illinois

  • One of my favorite numbers by the band.

  • The joy of spirit is measure of its power. Its a tune for all. Thank!

  • what is alison doing in the beginning at 0:07? sign language?

  • @coowitit yea it looks like she is spelling out something in sign, but I couldn't catch it all saw a letter D and maybe an E.

  • @coowitit She was signalling the person at the mixerboard to turn up one of the mics.

  • Why does every video on YouTube seem out of sync between sound and video? Is there something wrong with the encoding??

  • Does Anyone Outthere Have The Sheet Music For This Song ????? I would Like To learn This One On My Guitar...I only Read Tablature.!!! GREAT SONG.

  • best part of this is the first 3:14 thanks

  • Chops...

  • Bluegrass it is but traditional bluegrass it is not. Phenomenal works by all, but especially Jerry Douglas on dobro. Fantastic.

  • wow fantastic music

  • God, Alison Krauss is fucking hot.

  • @telswood agreed

  • they are one of the best on are world

  • awesome instrumental.... just wondering, what key is this in? Is it in G?

  • @vcp430 Because it is a fiddle tune (has a fiddle break for Alison), I am thinking it is in A (favored by fiddlers) but there is a key change at Jerry's break and it may go up a half step. I will give it some more thought...

  • I am a classic rock guy, and I still believe that Jerry Douglas is the greatest muscian ever. Alison, I will love forever. She is a living Angel.

  • this song brings a tear to my eye every time

  • It is all about the Dobro on this one. Jerry Douglas is awesome. Alison and Union Station deserve all the kudos they get. Talent like this doesn't come along very often and to have it all in one band is amazing. And seeing them live just drives home the point that they are musicians and don't need any studio enhancements.

  • @bjxmas Isn't this just a great piece of music! I love the dobro sound.

  • @bjxmas Well said:)

  • @bjxmas I think this is one of the best pieces of instrumental bluegrass ever performed - and I love Ron Block's style too...

  • @bjxmas ron´s banjo is also awesome..!

  • @allanshawn wow what a jack off. I've been playin fiddle for 20+ years and Alison kicks my ass clean and sober. stupid comment.

  • Through Alison Krauss and Union Station I have developed a love for Bluegrass.

  • absolutely bad-ass

  • Fantastic

  • Goddamn... that's really all i can say.

  • Jerry Douglas is the best in the world on the dobro. Absolute genius!

  • ANOTHER EXCELENT TRACK

  • wow

  • Wooo Hooo I love it.

    Agape, donny

  • I dedicate this to all people who 'stereotype' bluegrass as 'hillbilly nonsense'..w/the invitation for them to play anything nearly this complicated!! Oh how they decline my offer!!! And with that, I sign off with a YEE HAW BABY !!!!

  • @botbagel hell yea

  • Glad to have music like this in my life:) hope more people get to hear it around the world...we could all be better off

  • Just search for Jerry Douglas music and more of Union Station ( the band thats playing in this video) Jerry is the dobro player.

  • @njcooke: Rob Ickes

  • I grew up listening to all the bluegrass bands and We camped at all the conventions.

I now listen to a little bit of every thing but when ever I hear some blue grass it takes me home.

  • A band being this sharp should be bleedin' illegal! They make all the rest of us feel inadequate.

  • Even the stuffy parents from Footloose are getting in to it!

  • One word! Incredible ...keep making music like this!

  • This is Real music.. absolutely Amazing!

  • Hey fellow Norwegian! If you like this be sure to look up the soundtrack to Oh brother where art thou. Good stuff ;)

  • one of my favorite movies

  • Ive never heard this kind of music before (Norway), really glad i stumbled over it:D

  • @acesreung yes, very American :] and she is amazing isn't she?

  • Comment removed

  • @acesreung Welcome to the South.

  • @acesreung There is a bluegrass music festival each summer in the south of the country(Risør). I won't promise that you'll find Krauss or Union station there, but is is a great place to hear this kind of music.

  • @acesreung There's a lot more bluegrass where this came from. :)

  • this is the root music of the south

  • ah man this is so awesome. cant believe this kindof of magic is humanly possible.

  • bluegrass at it's finest

  • WOW!!!

They do this as easy as a dog trotting! :D

  • @DarDarJackson Amazingly delightful analogy there friend!!!

  • Some good playin...

  • Seems effortless because its from the soul. Amazing group !!!!

  • I used this as the theme show for my radio show on KRFC-FM. Amazing instrumentalists.

  • is the dobro in open Em?

  • No,I believe you're thinking of the pedal steel.Dobros are usually in open G.But who knows, guitar tunings arent written in stone and alternate tunings are fairly routine.

  • Jerry had that purple Scheerhorn reso (dobro) tuned in G for this show. However, Jerry had four different dobros (including this one) to play for this concert and all were in different tunings (G, D, F, and E I believe)

  • i didnt no how much i loved Alison Krauss & Union Station until i first herd them

  • they make it seem so damn effortless...
