Healthcare reform means tort reform in healthcare. Doctors should not get sued for providing clincally approirate care. Second, reform the payment system where payment is based on clinical outcome not per procedure.

I don't want to pay half of my pay check to protect myself from injury, have my teeth cleaned, etc for ridiculous health care costs . I'd rather pay a fraction of my pay check in taxes to pay for my healthcare. Its money saved.

If government got out of healthcare it would become cheaper. The only reason why it's so expensive now is because medicare will cover all costs of healthcare no matter what they are. For example, people abuse the system and go to the emergency room for minor things, like sore throats, because all they have to do is keep paying their low monthly medicare bill. As a result hospitals' costs are driven up so they can afford all of the demand. John Stossel did a great report on this. Check it out

That is a lie! Medicare does NOT cover "all costs of health care no matter what they are".

Medicare co-pays have nearly bankrupted my parents who, now in their eighties have seen their life savings wiped out, the 'wonderful' SS payment they both paid into all of their lives only cover about 35% of their monthly living expenses and my father (83) went back to work last year to make ends meet.

John Stossel is a neocon tool. Wake up and join the other 83% of true Americans and get America back.

What are you talking about? The healthcare system isn't private in this country. It's strictly controlled by the government. In fact, it's going to be even more controlled by the government because, in the second bailout, there were provisions for making doctors consult the government, i.e. bureacrats, before giving you treatment for your illnesses or injuries. In short, medical supplies will be rationed. Hooray government!
