  • remainder1. Where did you get that crap from... the track was put on right at the last moment... Brian Eno's 'An Ending (Ascent)' was being used previously. Don't write anything if its just plucked from your attention seeking head. Who needs permission from a musician to make a commercial?

  • You need permission from the artist to use their music. Directly from Owen : "Tomlab and I miscommunicated. I said, "Let me think about it," but the ad agency needed to know right away, so Tomlab took the plunge and said "yes" before I could write back "no".

Right now I'm extremely depressed about the whole thing but can really find no fault in Tomlab's actions. Nor do I see any point in pursuing any rash manoeuvres. Me and Tomlab are still buddies. We'll work it out."

  • wasn't this video done without Owen Pallett's permission?

    Good commercial anyways ^_^

  • Yes, it was. Tomlab took his 'let me think about it' as a 'yes' under a time constraint. He's giving his cut away to Doctor's Without Borders.

  • Ahh, I thought so. Thanks for confirming.

  • Nice advert. The music is "Adventure.exe" by Final Fantasy, available on the album "Has A Good Home" from Tomlab. Final Fantasy is Owen Pallett, who does the string arrangements for Arcade Fire and other Canadian bands.

  • WOW
