I never said this thing would kill you.. I said it would remove your fingers. If you would have read a little deeper, you would have seen where it CLIMBED INTO this area.. A few hours later it CLIMBED OUT all on its own. My intention was to leave it in the enclosed area so that I could bring it to the Mississippi River later that day.. When I went out to collect him, he was gone and most likely crawled back into our small pond. Pussy? Sorry that Im not as redneck as you.

you make it seem like its impossible to grab its tail without ultimatley dying.. i've caught many of snappers and ones bigger than that i ever got two in my aquarium, stop being a pussy grab its tail and drop it on the other side

@cleemeyer1 I own a snapping turtle too. I dont know if I would have helped this one over though, but i would have made a gap under the fence for it. Then probably figured out why it was climbing over, and put that food on the other side. Could have been a dead animal or some greens it was eyeballin.

@ Keavinhaz You ever played with a 35 lbs snapping turtle? Its very similar to kissing a rattle snake or or giving an alligator a dental exam. These animals are incredibly strong, with a lightning fast striking neck that fires out about a foot.. At the end of that neck is a jaw with enough crushing power to chop through bones. Obviously you have never been around one of these. Its not your average pet shop type of turtle. So, douchebag?? Not so much.. Smarter than you? Definitley..

I was scared to handle them the first time I caught one. But now I know the technique. Grab their tail with one hand and put the palm of your other hand under it's belly. It's easy and they can't bite or claw you. check out my videos, they'll show you.

Looks like your turtle fence is the wrong way round... he can get out because there's no pole to stop him getting at the last links in the fence, but on the way back in he's clearly having trouble getting over the pole.
