This was written by me and my writing partner, Steve LeGassick and the singer was Jill Carlucci.. Isn't she great?
There's an instrumental version earlier in the episode too.
That is my Telecaster, strung heavy and tuned down a whole step. Steve and I wrote Smokey Robinson's "One Heartbeat" together in 1986. thanks for the commets!
Hello Brian, I've uploaded instrumental version too, it's really great and fits Gina's feelings perfectly i think. This song was written especially for Miami Vice? I've searched for some information about it and found nothing, so please tell us... Thanks for your comment ^^
Yes, it was written for her, for the episode. It was an instrumental which I had been working on, then Steve and I wrote the melody and lyrics for the show. The other instrumental version is cool too, same episode, earlier on.
@brianrayguitar how did the producers of the show find you? did you just mail NBC asking to play a song for the show? that is really cool that a smaller group like yours could land on a major network like that with all the competition there is from major international labels.
It could have just been done for the tv series..like couple of the other songs from Vice that dont exist in full version format...sucks!..cuz this was a really cool song..it probably could have been a hit for the artist.
The singer is most certainly Jill Calucci and as far as I know, this is it. There is no more of the song - which IMO is a huge mistake! Why the hell didn't she finish it???
Can Anyone tell me how to get the whole song or where I can find ANY information on it? It seems to be very rare, and I'd also like to know who the singer is. It seems to be a woman who sings it, not this Brian Ray.
Would love an isolated recording of this.

I have the same problem... Maybe this song was composed by Brian Ray only for the movie? I don't know... Sadly, singer is unknown :(
