@gta4kings1 I have a Bacchetta recumbent. It's more comfortable than an upright bicycle, and a little more efficient (especially in a headwind or going downhill), but doesn't climb as well. The reason you don't see them in races is because they were outlawed in the 1930's.
@JohanKH I think you're asking about the Reynolds T-bone. It's titanium, but unfortunately no longer in production. You can still find them for sale on the used market every so often.
@phyotyla Yeah, I originally had Surf Rider on the video, but due to rights issues YouTube removed it (and I couldn't re-edit the video at that point). Turns out I actually like Hot Pink, Distorted better for the video. :)
I just tested the LWB recumbent i built and i can't get over how much less wind resistance there is. So comfortable too.This video helped me make up my mind about recumbents. Thanks.
why r those different from regular bikes? do u get different work out from them, or is it just funner, help me im confused lol

Why didn't you try a ultra lowracer?
ChrisLuxembourg 1 year ago
@ChrisLuxembourg Hi Chris,
The yellow bike is a lowracer. They can get a little lower than that, but not much.
theaesthetics 1 year ago
@theaesthetics I thought something like my lowracer with a seat high of 11cm...
ChrisLuxembourg 1 year ago
@ChrisLuxembourg That bike is in a class by itself! 11cm will clear the ants but you'll take out all the grasshoppers and caterpillars :)

I like the music. The song is not surf rider but "hot pink, distorted" by 50 foot wave

I love bents but 12-13 mph...I'd like to see vids of something a little faster...it looked like 20-something at 2:58 but it's hard to tell.
merrimad 1 year ago
@merrimad
The problem is I handhold the camera for the videos, so while I can easily zip around in the 20's, I'm leery to do it one handed while filming :)

Glad to help! Yes, those head winds are much less of a problem on a recumbent :)

which was the low riding yellow one closest to the camera at the beginning? that looks like my kinda thing
cerealrulz 2 years ago
That's the no longer made, LIghtning U2. It's a modified M5 lowracer. The M5 is still sold, but it's a bit hard to buy one in the US.
theaesthetics 2 years ago
I see. well judging by the video's of it on YouTube, it goes like **** off a shovel
cerealrulz 2 years ago
Yep, the M5 lowracer holds lots of speed records.

The Strada is really a great bike. You're gonna have a blast!!

Great music! I love that shot where the camera is on the right brake lever and the bents are going around the curve.

I liked that shot also :)
Thanks for the comment!
