  • now that's what I;'m talk'n bout ... JESUS I'LL NEVER FORGET !!!!!

  • If you can could you play the medley, "Down through the years/My mind is made up/Trouble in my way." I heard that from the late Bishop David Ellis from GReater Grace in Detoit and that song has stuck with me ever since. Just when you have the time to do so.

  • Each of these songs are very similiar. Essentially, these are known as turn around songs because they go on and on turning around over and over. I would recommend that you record yourself singing each song. Then sit down at the piano and learn to play them as best as you can. You can use three basic cords to play each of these songs and move on from there. The more you play them - the better you will get at doing so because of the practice effect. Work on this and see what happens.

  • @ncilmo: I haven't mastered playing the piano or organ. Actually, I don't know how to play either. I enjoy music though, so I am beginning to learn myself to play. With school and work, I do not have the time for lessons at the moment.

  • OK - When you get some time - practice 3 hours per day.

  • Great playing but you need to get that Leslie switch fixed!--And your leslie horn is spinning slow.

  • That was two years ago. The motor was unplugged. Once plugged up it worked fine.

  • are you still playing the organ? if so, can you play "Lord Do it" or "Glad to be in the service one more time".

  • Yes - I still play the organ. Hopefully, I will have some time this summer to repair the preamp on my B3 and maybe begin making a few videos at some point in the near future. I have a long list of song requests.

  • Dr. Kemp,

Thanks for the advice on the organ playing and using the pedals. It really has helped, and I find using the pedals a lot easier. I'm looking to develop my left handed chording: what do you suggest? Thanks and please continue to exercise the gift God has blessed you with.

  • Pick your favorite hymn and begin developing left hand cords while humming the song to yourself. Don't use your right hand while doing this until you have played the song several times through with your left hand only. Then add the right hand by fingering the song while playing left hand cords. Then play the song using right and left hand cords together. Wish the best on your development!!

  • Bless you bro. Keep it up dr. Is it possible someone can play and post "Be Blessed" by Bishop Paul Morton?

    Thanks in Advance,

  • Dr. Kemp, Mighty insightful and keen comment by Musicmaker85 that the Leslie switch wasn't working on "Jesus, I'll Never Forget." Powerful and anointed playing to say the least. I hope to have some Hammond C-3 music available for viewing/listening as soon as I get set up. Enjoying your music greatly!

  • Hello Stan,

I viewed a video tape someone (I believe the guy in Chicago who also sells hammond/Leslie parts) produced of a Stan the music man playing several years ago. Was that you or someone else? Thanks for the comment!!!

  • wow very amazing!wat a blessing..I love that tempo and that bounce you got going on

  • That's how it is sung in the church I grew up in and at the conventions I attend in our denomination.

  • StantheMusicMan

Mighty fine playing there, even if the Leslie switch is not working. I love the full chords and harmony

  • It's working now but now I need to rebuild my preamp. I may have to play my A122 for a while. I recently rebuilt the preamp in it and it is very powerful and loud!!! Man - rebuilding the preamp breathes life into a Hammond organ.

  • Uh oh, your tremolo switch isn't working... Been there and done that, lol. Hopefully it'll be an easy fix.

I enjoy your videos as always. Keep playin' for Jesus!

  • In exchanging the amps - I simply forgot to plug in the slow motor. It's fixed now!!!

    Thanks

  • It took me a day to see the error of my ways in that I stated that this video was by special request of Word Of Mouth 86 but should have said Word of Truth 86!!! Wordoftruth86 - I hope you enjoy my tribute to you my brother!!! Thanks for the request!!!

  • Dr. Kemp: Being in the Holiness Church now for 46 years I have always loved this song very much and you do it so well. The anointing on your organ playing is God sent upon you:

    Rev. Michael Capps, D.D, Th.D, Re.D, Ph.D

    Bishop:

  • You know - I tried to play it as I heard it sung throughout my life in the Holiness church. I too have 49 years (this May 24th) in the Holiness church. God is so good and has brought us from a mighty long way!!!!

    Dr. Kemp

  • Play Arthur!!!!

  • Thanks Dbad45!!!

As always - you are a bad boy on the keys. Keep writing and playing for Jesus!!!
