This contest took place two years ago and you had to go to TSO's web site and download the music for all the instruments EXCEPT the one you were going to play. So since he's playing the piano part, he downloaded the guitar, bass and drums and then he learned the piano part and played along with the other three parts. EVERYONE in the contest did it that way. Listen to the other people who participated you it's the same.

Dude he had the stereo going in the background so that you can hear the whole song... Also helps you keep time. He doesn't have the whole orchestra there with him! Sounds to me like he did pretty good for just getting the music 10 days before playing it though there were a few mistakes at the end.
