How in the hell can this man's name NOT be mentioned in the same breath as any other person considered "legendary"!? Production, puns, lyrics, samples, DJ skills... Finessed does it all and does it well.
Wow big ups to Lord Finesse. I like Dr. Dre's subject matter on the song. Did not know he borrowed the whole production. Dre took a lot of credit for producing Chronic 2001. Scott Storch produced half of the tracks. Dre needs to get back to his roots. His first classic wasn't the first Chronic. Dre produced the hell out of Niggaz4life.
@divine1son the truth is ever since the original chronic dre doesnt entirely produce his beats, he leaves it up to his production team and he cleans it up and adds that dre flav to it
@lilmarkd96 That is true. I like Dre mixing the whole production from scratch to finish. His original beats have more sonic and flavor to it. Its like a hot producer baking a cake and Dre putting the icing on. It's still good but I will rather have Dre baking the whole cake because he knows what ingredients to put in. You want good or God Dam this shit is fire!! Dre has gotten lazy and unsure of himself. Where the hell is Detox? I am trying hard not to Forget About Dre!!
@exkimo64 I'd like to think the people listening to this version over Dre's like it better and don't feel bad. But if you feel that the subject matter makes a difference, I read ya. Check out One Day by nappy roots and 2pac, it's set to this beat and the subject matter is in line with the dre version.
lord finesse might be the most underrated rapper of all time even more than big l half the time you look up stuff about hip hop you see big l,Kool g rap,big daddy Kane,NaS,Krs one,Rakim the most known names in hip hop but how many times do you see lord finesse maybe once or twice kind of sad lord finesse not the goat but definitely should be in everyone's top 10 or at least 20
@realhiphop4ever You know the story, don't you? This was a song for a Lord Finesse album, executive-produced by Dr. Dre. The album was shelved, but Dre loved the beat and bought it to Finesse, and that's why appeared on Dre's 2001.
I always thought Dre produced this, damn Finesse killed this!<3 but respect to Dre too!<3

If people heard this version, theyd be saying... 'Dr. who?" LOL, but for real Finesse is a LEGEND.

I always feel bad thinking this version is better than Dr. Dre's version simply because Dre's was about loosing his brother.
So I'll say Finesse rocks it better, but Dre's subject matter suited the beat much better

@exkimo64 I don't cause Dre didn't even write that track, Royce Da 5'9" did.
Finesse is one of the best ever, real talk
