  • its great to see these rare glimpses at the early days. They are without doubt the premier band of this time we live in. There will never be another band that even comes close to the style and performance that Pink Floyd has performed.

  • Bravissimi tutti quanti......una Band che onora con la loro bravura i mitici Pink Floyd.

  • brilliant sound!!!

  • Well Done ! Where does this group perform?

  • Fantastically done boys!!!! An excellent take on Barrett's classic.

  • Esta versión es impresionante. La tocan perfectamente.

  • Oh, I can't see it well: is one of the guitar a Barrett's mirrors Esquire copy? We're just doing one of that! Anyway, the sound is great, it's not so easy to make a good cover of a Syd's song, but this one is irreproachable! (Excuse me for my English!) Very very good, bravi!

  • Very nice you guys! Awesome job...I like the screen in the back!

  • don't generally care for covers, but this video/version is sure worth the love and effort you seemed to have put into it!!

  • Syd would be proud. Its the best cover of this song I've ever heard.

  • Great job, guys. That is not an easy song to play and it sounds incredible

  • wonderful

  • I saw Pink do this in 1970 in Vancouver and I think you guys are amazing. Did you know that the cut at 1:40 was used in a TV commercial for an airline? I forget which one.

  • amazing....just about better than the studion pf version from abbey road..how old r guys

  • fuckin awesome...sounds great...amazing piece of drummin..

  • God damn. That was absolutely amazing. WOW.

  • Holy shit: I'm floored. Perfect.

  • very good !

  • great, hard to find floyd's music so easy to listen played from others! but this song is really special, so simple and impressive at the same time that remain in the brain

  • Ya'll are fucking great, that was an excellent cover. I love all Pink Floyd music, but I have a soft spot for the early space age stuff. The Grateful Dead had some excellent psychadelic stuff too. You guys keep up the good work and RIP Syd Barrett, he was too good for this world.

  • Thanks Bigdim, I liked your version of Set The Controls- the original remains good but murky and your flipout solo at the end is exciting. At the beginning of Astronomy Domine is that you reading the planets through a megaphone or is it a sample? Will try to get to a show

  • Yep, that's a sample... we stole it off the original. Apparently it was Peter Jenner that read into that megaphone. Thanks for passing by the MySpace, we had to cut the rest of Set the Controls, our version is 7 minutes long and we only had space for a 5 minute track! It'd be great to see you at a gig sometime. Tke it easy!

  • Love the chugging astral solo, after the top string bit, with all the scattershot rhythms - any chance of extending it for about eight hours? Do you do Lucifer Sam?

  • Hell yeah!! We do a load of Syd's stuff... Arnold and Emily, Lucifer, Astronomy, Baby Lemonade and Set the Controls, though techically he didn't do too much on that track.

See our website for our upcoming shows... more of our tribute can be heard on our MySpace: www.myspace.com/ukdarkside

    Cheers!

  • this is a cracker

  • totally syd totally good!

  • That was exceptional - thank you ;-)

  • That was excellent! Would love to see your band in the flesh sometime, any gigs planned for Ireland and if not how much money would it take to get you guys over here. anyway that was first class and would love to see more vids.

  • Hey, thanks so much for the kind words, at present we're only able to play about 4 - 5 gigs a year and are booked up right into next year... for more info visit our website - www.ukdarkside.tk

  • I'd love to but i'm here in Portugal nervous for the fucking world cup! Oh, by the way, sorry mate. Anyway, i loved the cover, i forgot to post it. Do you do anymore of the old floyd's stuff, like arnold layne or see emily play?

  • No worries about the football, made a nice change to be out so early on into it. We play about 30 covers in the tribute and have a few songs recorded. You can hear them on our my space www.myspace.com/ukdarkside. - Cheers Pedroz!

  • why doesn't anyone sing the "oooooooooooooooh" chromatic descent?

  • We do!! Infact that's my part, the cameraman had 30mins battery left and we only had 3 takes to get some film, if you look closely you can see me (bass guitar) move up to the mic prior to the '"oooooooooooooooh" chromatic descent'. You'll have to come see us some time.

We're at the Neptune Pink Floyd Convention in Brighton on September 23rd, and their other convention in Glasgow sometime in October.

  • Comment removed

  • That was 100% spot on. I would pay money to see you guys play that.

  • this is great!!! perfect cover! thanks.

  • You guys aint bad
