In addition to my previous comment, I really do think that the original did an amazing job with portraying Hughes death in the anime. It's one of the only things I think they couldn't have improved with in Brotherhood. With Hughes falling after he was shot to his ghost waving Ed and Al off on the train...they did a wonderful job.

When Hughes died I cried. I NEVER cry. And now everytime I watch Amv's with him I cry again. I try to do it in private cause like I said. I NEVER CRY. But this one time my sister walked in and was like. Why you crying? And I showed her, she didnt even blink. I swear sometimes I wonder whats wrong with my sis.

@Hawkzeh4Eva My sisters are just the same. I cried forever when Hughes died. The second to last episode of FMA Brotherhood (I cried in the last one too, but mainly because Winry ended up with Ed... That made my fangirl die I stayed up all night crying...And I don't usually cry either. Whenever I freak out like that about FMA my entire family is like "Calm down! Whats the big deal?"

Amazing job, Hughes death made me cry, when Roy tried to commit suicide after killing Winry's parents made me cry, and when Elisia kept on saying "Wake up Daddy!!" and "They can't bury him mommy he has work to do!! He said he'd play with me after he was done!! They can't bury him!!" I just....Lost it. I have watched both seasons of FMA, seen all the movies, and have the Wrath episodes on DvD. Hughes was one of my favs and...I dun liek it when my favs die TT^TT

I get that they wanted to play off irony - they made BRADLEY, the most evil character of the first Anime, NICE in contrast - but it was still pretty jarring for Hughes' counterpart to be a racist. He DOES leave the Nazi party at the end of the movie, but a) I wish that detail were clearer, and b) it's unsettling.

On the other hand, even Nazi!Hughes was friendly to Ed and Alfons - it just got cut short when it came to Noah.

Meh, I pretend the movie doesn't exist ...

@luca82 So far as I'm concerned, the movie was a REALLY cheap attempt at wrapping up the storylines which should not have been made. I liked the TV ending better - it wasn't complete, but at least it didn't TRY to be complete.

If the movie had been a sequel series, it might've been better, with more time to explore its ideas, but still ...

I kind of prefer the 'new' series - 'Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood' - more. It follows the story as it appeared in the manga - the REAL story!

@luca82 No, you're not ... they DID try and make him friendly even in the movie, but ... well, the racism was jarring, even if he DID leave the Nazi Party at the end (which wasn't made very clear to less observant viewers) ...

I prefer the 'new' series, 'Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood'. Besides NOT diverging from the original author's storyline as seen in the FMA manga, it also ties up loos ends and character/story arcs much better and more effectively than the 2003 anime ...

this is a really amazing video. i came really close to crying. if you watch the original music video How to Save a Life then watch this one. you will see the connections. because its about how Roy loses one of his closest friends and he goes through all these dif emotions.. grief, anger, guilt, sadness, and finally letting him go. and just remember the good times.

There are about a million and one FMA vids to this song... but this is probably my very FAVORITE! You told Roy and Hughes story so well! It flowed really well. Made me cry. ;_; My only critique would be that the two clips in color are very jarring, since the rest of it is in black and white.

Yep, it makes me happy when, after they've killed off a character, they don't just drop the entirely from the show. Hughes still played an important role throughout the series after his death, so I was happy. :)

One more word of constructive criticism some of it had nothing to do with roy AND hughes,like where roy and the gang are at warehouse 13,nothing to do with the rest of it,to take its place,put more short bits of hughes,since,its a partial memoriam to him,like him and his wife,or more of his last moments.

The reason why I'm so towards this is cause I don't have the equipment for this kinda thing,but you do,and with the right ideas,you could make this the best vid I've ever seen.

I forget,what are the buckets of "blood" doing in roy's Room when maes comes to see him,looks like human transmutation circles there too,where would he get the corpses for the only human transmutation I know that he would do,of winry's parents and the others dead in the war,so,what's going up,very odd,...
