Attention trolls!! Please choose someone else to post your replies to. I made a post or two on this video 2 years back and could care less of any of your Disney fanboy opinions.
I watched this for the first time very recently (I don't get to see a lot of movies). This, in my opinion, was a great movie and it never occurred as "scary " to me. This was more of a movie where I kept thinking... "What's next?" and never really took in the negativity of it. Only the beauty in it's making.
To anyone that keeps replying to what I had post nearly two years back, I'm not reading any posts on this video, heck I stopped "liking" ages back but yet I receive the comments...sigh...Coraline is old news, move on people.
@MikeLomb this is what happens when you comment on youtube. if you can't take people commenting back then you shouldn't start it at the first place. stop complaining and grow up.
The only classic Disney films by age that you named are, Alice & Cinderella, all the others you mentioned are 90s rubbish(Lion King was OK).
What I had said was the worthless computer generated junk needs to end. Films like, Up!, Flushed Away, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs are films which have been forced upon youth to accept...and yes, children can appreciate films such as Coraline, theatre, the arts if they're brought up in an enriched environment.
@MikeLomb pixar AND disney put as much work into their films as anyone else! its just that stop motion takes FOREVER to do, and many film animators tend to use a computer to help along the way. people do need to make more movies like this though, CG is just blah now.
I knew there was something exception and special about this film that makes it one of my favorite.. but why don't people understnad the exceptional beauty of handmade or anything analogue anymore?? I feel like we're just losing our humanity
No he doesnt you freak. and there was only ONE oompa loompa...thanks to the magic of computers, they multiplied the man a thousand times over. But Yeah his name was Deep Roy...and wow...you're just so so wrong.
Sheesh. You're very rash, aren't you? If I was wrong, I apologize for affending you to the extreme. I never say this, because it's lame but chiiiillll ooooout. Stop throwing a hissy fit over something that doesn't even matter.
You're right, giving credit to someone, who didn't do the work doesn't matter at all. Kinda like if someone heard a Papa Roach song and thought it was Linkin Park.
BTW That wasn't a hissy fit, that was me noticing that your "observant" self, isn't very "observant".
I would apologize for calling you a freak but its a term I use often and now that you know I feel no need to apologize. Plus! the last part was exaggerated sarcasm but...I wouldn't expect someone as "observant" as you to notice. :-)

He's not. Deep Roy played the oompa-loompas, hate to burst your bubble - but it's alright, both dudes look very similar, and ur kwl bcoz ur a Linkin Park fan (Y)
not trying to be rude but you totally did not answer my question. I asked about the glasses that you used at the theaters, not the ones you get with the movie.
Oh oops, I messed up when I answered too. :P I didn't get the chance to see it at the movies so I don't know. It all comes down to if the 3-D was done in the same way. What do the glasses look like? The ones that come with it are of the cyan and magenta sort.
Yep, it comes with like four pairs of glasses. The 3-D version is on one side of the disc, the non-3-D version on the other, so you can pick which one you want.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE it came out on dvd and i was just liike WHAT?!?!?! and i totally went to the store and bought it the moment i figured out where it was XD
I think its more symbolic than anything. It shows you this is not the real world, and that for her to stay she'd have to do something that quite frankly, most of us wouldn't. (sew buttons in your eyes Oo). An ultimate price, per say, for all your dreams to come true xx
i think it has something to do with that the eyes is where your soul is, the people in the other world isn't real, so they can't have 'souls'. i'ts very symbolic actually. (i read this somewhere)
In the modern day of animation where Disney and Nickolodeon keep putting out another worthless computer generated animation film after another, we need to embrace TRUE talent like those behind Coraline. It's films like these that will truly inspire new and seasoned animators to think out and craft better films for us all to enjoy.
i agree that the effort behind coraline makes it all the more worth watching. I haven't seen it yet, but i'm certainly going to soon. This film with all its incredibly dedicated workers, i believe, definitely has something far more special than common computer generated animation.
@MikeLomb Agreed. Look how many people try their best here on Youtube to make stop motion with ball-jointed dolls. It's amazing.
And this movie opened my eyes to it. Almost immiedietly after watching the movie I had to read the book. I was terrified to sleep after I read the book.
@MikeLomb Even though I really think that Coraline is one hell of a masterpiece, I don't agree with you there. Just the way you call computer animation 'computer generated' indicates your ignorance. It's not like you can 'scan' your storyboard and have the computer generate the movie for you. In digital animation (3D as well as 2D) you can put just as much effort in every single detail as in stop motion. If you think computer animation is worthless you're obviously watching the wrong animations.
do you even know what it takes to make the cg movies you see today....Coraline is a great movie and deserves all its credit but do not discount the makers behind the cg films, if you even had the slightest clue of what it takes to make those films youd stop your arrogant boasting, all artist are TRUE artists, yet express themselves through different mediums, get a clue
@GunMonkeyz Well until now I had no idea that all artists are "true artists". Thank you for your input, however, let's have you college students work on grammar skills and leave the "art" enjoyment to us grown ups.
