I will forever miss watching my Cowboys games to the narration of madden and pat. They are 2 guys that just carried themselves so well. And as far as their combination, John Madden being the eccentric guy, going off on some crazy rant drawing yellow lines all over the place (which I could never walk away during, I loved listening to him just go on about football) and Pat always chimed in with his very calm,relaxed voice,like what ever happens during the game, you'll be alright. I miss them alot

Its weird that he retired because of family, but now he sits in his basement with like 10 giant tv's watching football and doesn't spend time with his family.

@steelersfan7238 yes but I was being a little dramatic. Though he sits in his basement with TV's and hires people to work the TVs and put certain games on the TV's he does spend a lot of time with family when he isn't doing that

@carlinrulez666 Couldn't agree more. Nice 'street' comparison. I simply cannot listen to football commentary the same anymore. Why now (tho a few do know the stuff) more&more high pitched voiced so-called 'cooler' announcers are polluting the com. box (eg-20 yds& 'Change'...?!!!). Tell it like it IS! I am a believer in evolution of all sorts, but sometimes language doesn't really need it. Those days seem 2b gone. BTW, can't help but ask...fellow GC fan I take....?

Pat Summerall and John Madden were the best team. NFL commentary has been great since their deptarure but I still prefer the Madden/Summeral comentary the best.
