just a quick question. How many people here think that the tazer is a great option for less than lethal situations, and is a good tool for police to have? i think so but i keep getting people claiming that this is lethal 25% of the time. thats not true right?

you can use it only one time...and one shot cost 20$ so its expensive!!!

you cant reload them. you can cut the probes off and use the wires to transmit the charge. tape em to a friends shirt and give em a ride... cut hte wires off and use the empties for training 'mag changes' so you can do it without looking. add some stress and you will be good to go should you need to.

I've heard from a self defence class that you shouldn't warn them. You should just DO IT.

And I've heared and READ that YOU SHOULD WARN THEM.

Who shoulc I believe?

If there is time you should warn them for legal reasons. If you warn them that you will hit them and they still come at you it will hold up better in court. If you don't warn them and they are backing away their lawyer will try to turn it around on you that you were the attacker. But if there isn't time to warn them then.......would you rather be alive with a court battle or dead?

@1992peter Studies show that 80% of potentially violent situations are de-escalated without physical force when aggressive persons are confronted with the laser sight from a TASER ECD. I would warn them I have a Taser because of the huge deterrent factor. Chances are the suspect will flee after seeing the Taser. Same is true for OC pepper spray. Suspects dont like pepper spray and they dont like the Taser
