  • I would of loved to see Goebbels face when he saw this.

  • @OperationAnime262 Apparently he ran out of the screening room kicking over chairs - and screaming profanities :)

  • Brought to you courtesy of the Ministry of Silly Walks. And now, for something completely different...It's("Liberty Bell March")... Monty Python's Flying Circus!

Go on. Tell me John Cleese came up with it all by his lonesome and never saw this or other similar films, of which there were many.

  • In 1942, Charles A. Ridley of the British Ministry of Information made a short propaganda film, Lambeth Walk - Nazi Style, which edited existing footage of Hitler and German soldiers (taken from Leni Riefenstahl's Triumph of the Will) to make it appear they were marching and dancing to "The Lambeth Walk". The film so enraged Joseph Goebbels that reportedly he ran out of the screening room kicking chairs and screaming profanities. --Wikipedia

  • Funny as you like! Don't forget that this is mid 20th century! It's got nothing to do with individual Nazis, it's all to do with propaganda!! Just look and laugh!!! My grandpa was busy kicking Rommels ass out of North Africa shortly after this was published ( I guess!) but great job job Grandad and crew! Damn you mr. rommel! Grandad went on to operation Market Garden... Cheers monty!!!!!!!!!

  • Слава Советам за великую победу!!! Спасибо за мир на земле! Смерть нацикам, гниды, горите в аду со своим фюрером.

  • @bomberfun1 Du Kommunisten Schwein werdest Sterben. Heil Hitler, Kanzler und Führer des Deutschem

Volkes. Der NazionalSozialismus wird nicht untergehen.

  • @DESSLOCH101 DIE FRITZ!

  • The first ever parody

  • Lol

  • Nice song jaja

  • The deadliest joke you ever saw.

  • Lupino Lane created Lambeth Walk in 'Me & My Girl' in 1937, music by Noel Gay. Commoners and toffs end up dancing it together in the Act 1 finale. in 1942 Charles Ridley of the British Ministry of Information 'stole' goose stepping clips from Riefenstahl's nazi-celebrating 'Triumph of the Will'; skilfully edited it to make it look as storm-troopers were doing the Lambeth Walk - a double propaganda hit - mocking Nazis and celebrating the class unity that was the happy ending of 'Me and My Girl'.

  • 12 people are Nazis.

  • HAHAHAHAHAH OMG tthat was funny... good times... good times... xD

  • A great work of British Propaganda. Their propaganda was on equal footing with Goebbels ministry works. Imagine how much time it took to cut and syncronize this. British propaganda invented the MTV video clip.

  • My ten-year-old sister watched this video and then asked me "Why did he get them marching like THAT? They look like idiots!

  • @mickyfudge

if you want an honest answer, tell your ten year old sister, the site was much much much more intimidating and spine chilling to witness the waves and waves of disciplined, determined, hard faced soldiers goose stepping into your country behind the shrills of the luftwaffe and the panzer divisions in real time

  • nazis are funny!

  • What a great video showing the real Nazi ?

er didn't know X factor was around them times .

But they lost .. all got carried away ..Sob sob..

  • @rezcrash88 Lol the Wehrmacht was hardly even considered Nazi, as mainly most of them did not commit atrocities - The Wehrmacht is about 99.99% clean, when the Waffen SS, like Totenkopf, is 100% NOT clean.

  • LOL!

  • History's first Meme!

  • Heh, now DAT's funneh.

  • Nick Griffin greets members of the BNP at their anual party congress ?

  • Nick Griffin greets members of the BNP at their Anual party congress

  • this is real humor right here.

  • Remix culture helped us win the war!! :)

  • Perhaps this is the first example of "Culture Jamming"?

  • Anything that makes the Nazis look like fools is good in my book.

  • The original YouTube Poop!

  • They're older than we think

  • @touretteEd

I lol'd. 10/10. So many months after you posted it.

  • @touretteEd

I lol'd. 10/10. So many months after you posted it. Just the way they go back and forth.

  • lol!

  • Hitler was gay

  • The world's first ytp.

  • Is it true Gerbils had a fit and walked out of this British Ministry of Information film mocking the Nazis?

  • Yes

  • @dudemantwo

Yes, Goebbels was said to have gotten his little lederhosen all up in bunch, over this film.

He knew how effective it was, and how stupid it made them look. And how it lifted British morale. (Would you think of surrendering to these clowns?)

He even ordered a Nazi version made. It sucked, of course. Lack of a decent sense of humor was another major Nazi weakness.

  • skeilak...here here...

Do you think Britain will become Mohammadan in the 21 st century?

  • @dudemantwo

No, I see the British as going Martian Orthodox, following the invasion and conquest from space, in 2034.

  • @dudemantwo na, the media only shows you what it wants you to see. People wouldn't let it happen without a fight

  • @dudemantwo

On the other hand, some reports say tha Goebbles couldnt help but laugh, and found it extremely funny.

  • yeah, i gotta agree. all uncle sam managed was meeting the russkis halfway across europe. i guess if it wasnt for that, the red army woulda barrelled right into the ass-end of portugal and the cold war woulda been a hell of a lot more interesting... thanks, yankees! you ruined world war 3!

how shitty is it to let 100s of millions of russians die then force a badly planned amphibious landing to swoop in and steal the credit? very.

  • pft, the dumbfucks in the US are right-wing conservatives and christians. Faux News is the kind of the myopic, ignorant republicans (or better yet, republican'ts)

  • @ The Hermann88

The good in those times...? I can think of only two good things: the formation of Volkswagen, and the part where most of Germany was restructured as an allied democracy, and even both of those points are debatable.

So what the hell are you talking about? ...Are you a sympathizer?

  • i hate axis powers but nice song? wut is it? i know a song kinda like it its called in the mood by glen miller

  • "The Lambeth Walk", it was a 1937 showtune.

  • Do you believe that Germany fought alone?

  • nope... germany are allied to japan's emp. hirohito and italy's mussollini.. and ofcourse germany's hitler.. they all should be ashamed.. they'l burn in hell..

  • The way I heard it, it was screened to Hitler and Goebbels along with other captured/acquired Allied films... and THEY couldn't help laughing!

Both understood the power of images and music combined.

  • Very funny ! Sometimes making jokes of this dark and extraordinary cruel times is the best way to deal with.

  • DU STINKST !!! =) lol

  • funny stuff, very good to see nazis as fools even if it is propaganda, I know that had America gone after moslem terorists with this kind of put down humor we could have won both wars.

Never give the enemy any respect, my motto.

WW2, the last war America had the heart to win.

  • @shitzulovey I think you'll find the Russians won WW2; the Americans turned up late, and in any case most of Europe has just surrendered to an unelected EU dictatorship, initially set up by Germany, France, and a few minor players.

  • Most of what I know about the war came from my father and his buddies who fought in WW2, I will admit that I do not know everything but I still think that if America had the courage to mock muslem terrorists we would win this war too.

Why are we so afraid to make those killers the brunt of every joke???

  • So you are an expert in german history and sociologist I guess :-))

Have you ever been in germany or does your substantiated knowledge base on tv shows ?

  • Comment removed

  • didn't know nazi's were such good dancers and lovers of British musicals, but that's what I love about Youtube, I'm always learning from it.

  • If was referring to the fact it was popular in between Weimar Germany TO the Early Nazi era

  • An Eye for an eye and the whole worlds blind. Think on. No blame no shame we are all the same in the end. Human.

  • The Lambeth Walk was an international dance craze begun by the musical My and My Gal (see the 1987 Tonys clip on youtube). Streicher and Goebbels both specifically denounced the Lambeth Walk as "Jewish driven decadence". This video is brilliant and hysterical.

  • Lambeth was a street in London, I believe, but the band and the song's composer were German. Apparently the German command was pissed when the 'video' came out, as they had banned even composing this type of music a year or more earlier.

  • It was also a popular tune in Weimar Germany - Early Nazi Germany.

  • weimar germany was not early nazi germany it was from 1921-1933

  • The tune itself is the "Lambeth Walk", a pre-war hit in the UK

  • Why is it called "Lambeth Walk "?
