Exactly correlation doesn't mean causation, you say vaccines are proven effective yet they were never compared to properly randomized large control group over long periods of time. Incorrect. It is more like 75-85% of those infected were vaccinated.

There were 186,000 cases in 1967, before the vaccine.

A tuna sandwich contains much more mercury than the vaccine. And they don't even put it in the vaccines anymore. So why haven't diagnoses of autism gone down? Think about it, what would serve to falsify the claim that mercury in vaccines causes autism? Take mercury out of the vaccines and the effect should be obvious...but that is NOT what has happened.
More harm has come from vaccine deniers than vaccines themselves.

Dentists have been using mercury forever in their practice. It is knows to evaporate mercury, yet nothing is being done to abolish it. Instead they say its safe. So if something like that is still used regardless of known toxicity. Then vaccines which are hailed as life saviours will never see the light of day.

@itry2brational What do you mean they don't put it in vaccines, most flu vaccines contain it, and if its so good why get rid of it, there isn't one experiment that shows mercury is not toxic to living tissue, or even dead tissue. It is still used in manufacturing processes.

Thimerosal was taken out of vaccines as early as 2000 and almost completely gone by 2001. Despite this, autism diagnosis levels remained the same . Mercury occurs naturally in all kinds of living tissue, hence the reference to a tuna sandwich.
Again, give us all a way to falsify your conclusion that mercury in vaccines causes autism. Any sound scientific theory is falsifiable.

Autism instances have risen from less than one in a thousand to well over 5 in a thousand in the last ten years. Would you like to know what percentage of vaccines use mercury has done in the last ten years? Come on its a good one. If the two were related then the instances would have dropped given the drastic decline in mercury preserved vaccines but it has only gotten much larger making it dreadfully obvious there is no correlation.

As soon as I heard it said on this video that ethylmercury is the most toxic form, I went looking for a comparison between ethyl and methyl-mercury. The one source that I found stated the probability that methyl-mercury is more toxic. Thimerosal is no longer used in most, if not all, early childhood vaccines. As a final note, I will admit that I am not without bias, because I am a high functioning autistic. I will supply the url to my source in the next comment.

Unnecessary, hundreds of thousands of children a year get vaccines and a very low number of children have autism. While yes you are correct that mercury is toxic there are multiple types of mercury and you have to look at the amount necessary to bring about any change in living tissue. You may be right in regards to TheAnthrochocobo about autism being a bad thing however his reasoning that evolution may be increasing the instances of autism may well be correct.

However testing something like that will require considerably more time to determine. Autism may well be evolution showing us a dead end genetically speaking. Look at the values and do some research into the actual constituents in the vaccines. You can look at the research yourself and check out the medical journals to see the results yourself. I understand you have some very serious reasons for thinking this however the evidence doesnt support causation or correlation.

um...not quite. The human body has small amounts of Hg in it (about .08mg/kg on ave). And it turns out the PEL for Hg (according to OSHA) is 0.05mg/m^3 TWA. You can't argue, for example, that a single atom of Hg can do any harm whatsoever in our bodies. ALL elements/chemicals are toxic in high enough doses. Ever hear of water intoxication? Hg just happens to be extremely low and water extremely high.

You clearly missunderstand what I was saying. the latest study done shows the number at 1 in 110 children and yes thats a low number(less than 1%). The unnecessary part was in proving mercurys toxicity its already well established. Numerous double blind studies have been done and millions of vaccines are given every year with no correlation having ever been proven. the originator of the whole debate was proven to be using bad science and falsification of data.

In the bio section, why wasn't the bit included about the journal "Autoimmunity Reviews" RETRACTING the Geier's papers in 2007 as fundamentally flawed, or about several federal judges writing of them after testifying as expert witnesses that their testimony was "intellectually dishonest," "not reliable" and "wholly unqualified" (as reported by the NYT). Hell, the Institute of Medicine rejected Mark Greier's work because it was flawed and even *failed to use simple scientific terms correctly.*
