David Lee is a much better all-around player than Amare. It's like the difference between Tim Duncan and Shaq. Shaq was more explosive, but Duncan was far more consistent in his game in terms of scoring and solid defense. In 2 years, Lee will be closer to the new Tim Duncan, and Amare will in turn be closer to becoming as irrelevant as Shaq is right now. It's sad that the Knicks are much more drawn to big names than to quality and high-potential players.
Let me get this straight, the Knicks go out and sign a guy that has had injury problems and is inconsistent to a max contract. I'd like to get Lee in OKC. He's a solid player, good scorer/rebounder, and in our system, he'd certainly become a better defender. He carried the weight of the entire Knicks team on his shoulders. If he was on our team, he'd get to actually play with talented players that work, and he wouldn't be expected to do everything, just go out and do what he does.

Most of his points are off great passes by other players (i.e. duhon off the pick and roll) and off of putback attempts. hes a pretty good rebounder but aside from that he's really not that great. i went to highschool with him. he was nice guy. i always knew he was gonna make it all the way. he just always improves faster than his surrounding competitors no matter the level of competition. and he works super hard and is really disciplined.

Most of his points are off great passes by other players (i.e. duhon off the pick and roll) and off of putback attempts. hes a pretty good rebounder but aside from that he's really not that great. Not a natural post scorer at all. and probably not the greatest shooter either

How about the Nicks do a sign and trade with the Spurs for Matt Bonner and M Finley.
Those are two expiring contracts the Spurs can give them for Salary cap space for next year and still give them some help this year and the Spurs would get the steal of the Year!

Lee is old school. I've seen him play since high school. He isn't too flashy, but his game has a little flare 2 it. He's jus 1 of those players who isn't great at any one thing, but is good at everything. He has a high basketball i.q. . He played pg in high school.

You must be on drugs. Lee and his Agent are currently seeking a deal that will pay him 10-12 Mill per season. You telling me worth that kind of money in these bad economic times. If he was worth that type of contract don't you think he would've been signed with a team by now or at least had an offer on the table for the Knicks to try and match??? Yeah he's buggin'. Reality is starting to slap him in the face as he see's teams going in other directions. NY media is reporting that he's likely going to either settle for about 7 or 8 mill per season or sign a 1 yr mid level exception for 5 mill and test the 2010 Free Agency.
He should sign long term now because he will be over looked in next years Free Agent Market. Too many BIG names are going to overshadow him.

I want the Knicks to keep David Lee and Nate Robinson too but it has to be at a reasonable price. The bottom line is the Knicks have to save money for 2010 Free Agency. Lee want's about 10 mill a season but his value is not worth 10 mill per season. It's bad enough Eddie Curry's fat ass is already getting 10 mill a season and will make 11 mill this season. No other Team out there is going to give him that type of contract, so most likely he will accept a more reasonable offer from the Knicks.

He's just not that kind of player. He works hard in the paint. Rebounding is his game. He can also finish in traffic. That isn't being to overrated. He has a jumper too. Little undersized to be playing center but still. Who else is there.
