Głoś imię Pana króla wszechmocy i chwały złącz się z chórami niebios zastępów wspaniałych. Harfa i róg niech zabrzmią któż jest jak Bóg. By krańce ziemi słyszały.- Jedna z moich ulubionych pieśni. Szkoda, że tak rzadko grana w kościele :/
@1401JSC Bla bla bla...I have heard that so often and we could quarrel about these "micro-thing" forever, and actually there might me something in your statement, but we are humans, and not machines playing an instrument. The human touch is what gives it a dynamic sound, tempo and warmth. According to the metronome you are probably right, but I think it is very well played...and after all, she is only give a small demonstration. 100% accuracy is not important in congregational singing.
It's not a question of accuracy, Jan, but of BREATHING. Organs do not need to take breath but singers do. There is a natural moment in which to breathe. The good organist helps the congregation by indeed shortening the note before the breath, but not to anticipate the next one in a 'breathless' way.
@1401JSC Yes, you've got a point. I have played for congregational singing for several years, so I can appreciate the importance of allowing the congregation time to catch their breath. But I still think that lady is a good organ player.
I am sorry that I hacb't replied earlier. The world, with messages, commenting etc on youtube, is very new to me. I am actually not a organ player, but piano, but I can probably give you some information about organs in my country :)

Hmm, unlike some other organs, these reed stops have a very nice, cultivated sound.

By cutting short the 1/8 note, your third beat arrives too soon in the second and fourth bars.
Herren, a German noun, has of course a capital letter.
