often control backspace doesn't work. I lose everything I was working on and I have to reboot. something I have never had to do with XP pro or Vista

GNU/Linux can play most Windows games using compatibility layers. It can play Warcraft, Age of Empires (a proprietary Microsoft program) and can even run a complex DAW such as FL Studio. All that is needed is the WINE compatibility layer and maybe some sound compatibility. And it does this without consuming half of the resources Windows claims.
@Jversproduction very limited on games. wine will let only a few games work. edit videos, I think you only have 2 or 3 choices for software. all of which are like something from 1994.
and yes, anyone can upload youtube videos.
stick to windows or mac for the video stuff. you'll be better off in the long run. much easier to find high quality software.

I have no problems using linux. To each is own. Most people give up on linux it does not act or behave like windows. I use windows primarily at work and at home as a second operating system. I only use linux and does exactly what I need. Eye candy is bonus. MY church Uses it as well. Being that there are 40 users we cannot afford expensive cd duplicators sound recorders and projection software.
Ubuntu allows all of this for free and being that it is not a memory hog, it is able to so all tasks at once. I am not anti windows. but if I can get the same options for free why do I need to pay for it.
Linux can't find anyhardware with out a CD , its not very effective , for everything you want to install on your computer while you got a Linux you got doubts it gonna work or not , just take a Windows , its quick, good and comfortable. great spped , finds everything , can make virtual computers on it with more OS.

it has actually stopped several things from infecting my computer already.
it works in my opinion better than McAfee and Norton. for one, it's 100% free. and two it gets updated every week.

Dude, you're so wrong. GNU/Linux doesn't suck. GNU/Linux is based on Unix, and so is Mac OS X.
The only reason that i can see for using windows is the soft- and hardware support.

I only use linux and does exactly what I need. Eye candy is bonus. MY church Uses it as well. Being that there are 40 users we cannot afford expensive cd duplicators sound recorders and projection software.
Ubuntu allows all of this for free and being that it is not a memory hog, it is able to so all tasks at once. I am not anti windows. but if I can get the same options for free why do I need to pay for it.

Linux can't find anyhardware with out a CD , its not very effective , for everything you want to install on your computer while you got a Linux you got doubts it gonna work or not , just take a Windows , its quick, good and comfortable. great spped , finds everything , can make virtual computers on it with more OS.

just use windows if you want to spend money on helping micro$oft to build a monopoly and if you'd like to benefit from restricted possibilities non-oss software causes.
i hope your comment above was ment to be a joke...
i dare to say that linux does support as good as EVERY hardware/peripheral devices and unlike windows it has several comfortable possibilities to satisfy your needs,once a driver or software is not supported "out-of-the-box".

compared to windows, linux fulfils it's function the same or even better and doesn't costs you money or nerves while watching bluescreens, you haven't even generated by yourself.
OH, and : go buy a new pc, if you'd like to try windows vista anyway...;)
ps: i'm sorry for my partially bloody english and if i didn't list the other arguments aginst windows or the many enjoyable features of linux - i just didn't want to blast the space in here.
