  • What guitar did you used here? the sound was great! how much the price for this guitar in USD? thanks.

  • Thank you, this lesson was very useful to me, it helped me with this intro, I think it's the most difficult part of the song. Thank you again!

  • really helpful video/instruction. You kept it simple and it sounds great. More please!! Any chance of Crowded House/Neil Finn for something like Distant Sun or similar???

  • 3rd note on the Chorus is a basic A major chord. this boy is showin off with his bar chords. I couldnt master the bar chord he played either.

  • Great way to play this. I do it all the time and friends love it. Any ideas on the Solo though? I basically just cut the song short lol.

  • dont get me high..* oops :P

  • Happy new year to you sir.

(I'm french so excuse me for speaking english so bad).

Thank you very much for this lesson. I'm a beginner and use to play classical guitar for 4 years and you gave me my first lesson in folk guitar. it was a real pleasure. THANK YOU .

  • cheers mate - that's way more practical with one guitar than messing around up the top of the fret board with a capo. and it sound's really good!

  • Great lesson! It sounds really good!

  • You're not playing the chords long enough

  • cool sounds good with the alternate intro. It does sound better on acoustic than playing the octaves.

  • cool I like the alternate intro sounds good. You right it does sound better on acoustic than the octaves.

  • Hi mate, I just got my hummingbird, you reckon you could share us some tips on cleaning and care? Cheers mate

  • nice one john that was easy to follow ..top teaching! thanks

  • still finding it hard to make mine clean!

  • your not in "e" tuning and your not playing the songcorrect,,,its not even close so why teach this?

  • no..."iannello" is right your out of tune.

and not that it matters that much but your playing the song wrong...a little lose but not even close...sigh

  • your right much better

  • you play it 100% right, just your timing on the intro is off, this is a song i prided myself on knowing, but you got it right altogether brother, nice vid

  • plz do another video with the original way plz!!

  • that f-shaped chord on the fifth fret...isn't that an a chord?? help!!! how do you place your fingers?

  • yes, that's an A chord

  • thanks a lot! picked it up after the first view! :)

  • thankyou :) helped loads xD

good way of teaching it xx

  • dude. Thanks. I picked up the song in 5 minutes thanks to you. And Merry Christmas btw.

  • M8 ur a frikin Genius thanks!!!!!!!

  • My guitar is tuned but sounds nothing like yours. When I play the song it sounds almost right, but some notes are off. Is your tuning standard?

  • yes standard tunning... Maybe the strumming is off?

  • @iannello413

he"s totally out of(standard) tune and hes not even close to the song...what ever:)

  • @iannello413 I believe he may be using a classic acoustic (like me), the bottom 3 strings are neon, makes all the difference in the world sound wise :P

  • very well.... now i can play it.. thx dude ^_^

  • thaaaaaaaaaank you!!

  • thaks man your the best show me more radiohead !!!!!!!!!!

  • thank you! =] very helpful indeed.

  • This is a really cool lesson. Also really liked the one for Karma Police. Very well done!

  • sounds really great this chords are the original chords?

  • No this is alternative way that I think sounds better on acoustic... the correct way is with octaves on the 11th 9th and 5th frets

  • Sorry meant 7th fret not 5th with the open e string playing the e note (muted while playing the octaves)

  • demasiada hablada , aburres banano.

  • Oh, and nice guitar. It sounds really gooood.

  • very nice. thanx for your help

  • with all respet, im argentinian, and actually i remebered the "going arround windows introduction" when i saw this video, nevertheless is other way to play the song, good work!!

  • Comment removed

  • sorry... I agree... =s

    Better luck next time... ^^

  • you must not play guitar at all not to get that

  • thanx a lot i can finally play the song!!! =)

  • great tutorial man. does anyone else think that this guy looks like a mix between freddy mercury and clark kent

  • ahahaahahah that's true!!

  • It doesn't sound bad but the intro chords are wrong !

  • how can it be wrong if it sounds good?

  • He said it was an alternate version. If it sounds the same way, or even better, how can it be wrong? You don't just stick to one position. You can have plenty of variations in positions and they would still sound the same. :/.

    Don't know, I might be wrong. :)

  • great man

  • awsome thanks man

  • tx a million man explained it beautifully.

  • Great job man...I have a little version of it myself..check it out if you want.

  • thanks a lot!

  • nice job!

  • Oh man, thanks for this, that was really good.

  • excellent, I will practice this when i get my guitar out of the hock shop.

  • that first chord on the verse sounds way better like this

    E|-0-

    B|-0-

    G|-2-

    D|-4-

    A|-4-

    E|-0-

    Nice vid

  • can u tabs this up on the description plz

  • Sounded great! Thanks, John!

  • wow favorited and five star, but can you post a tab in the description?

  • thank you you really aught me a lot abouut playing guitar and im very grateful

  • Thank you

thats what i was looking for

  • Hey, just a little advice on your playing for high and dry. Instead of giving the little hammer on while playing the E chord, hit the bottom E string unmuted as this is the sound that rings through on the actual song. Cheers.

  • thank u very much for your help

  • Sry, but what's the chord after the "F#m" and before the E? .___.''

  • 577600

  • Thanks!

  • its A on 5th

  • helped a lot .. thanks!

  • Thanks so much, you've helped me a lot being a novice guitar player! Please make more for us....

  • ha this is awesome, high and dry was my introduction to radiohead, and when i started playing guitar i learned it this way. nice to see someone else agrees it sounds better down there.

  • good job mate

  • Loved the alternate voicing of the intro. That helped me out a lot.

  • You did this very well ... The only thing I would have done to improve it would have been to show the strum also.

  • thanx helps alot

  • are you serious? i believe that's what the word version means. if there was only one way to play a song(the "right" way) the word version would lose all meaning. you're a moron. normally dumb people don't bother me but when you so ignorantly criticize someone for merely posting a helpful video i am frustrated.

don't listen to these fools mr. russo. i like your version.

  • i think it's really easy to follow for beginners like me..thanks bro!!

  • I think that I am cleear that this is an alternative version. Not the version from the album. An easy version for beginers that sounds great on solo acoustic guitar. I am not trying to be "right".

  • lol!

  • Considering your typing/spelling mistakes you're the perfect one to point it out to him

  • Good lesson mate, thanks

  • It really is helpfull ;] thnx

  • Thanks brotha! Cheers!

  • You look exactly like the guy from "Dinner:Impossible" on the Food Network.

  • hahaha he does... he just needs to put on more weight

  • about the dinner impossible thing

  • cheers john...best tuition yet !!

  • thank you so much, this helped a lot :]

  • thanks man

as a kid i can learn it

  • would save some trouble if you laid out the strum patterns while you're at it :o

    thanks for the vids tho

  • excellent work. great choice!

  • thanks for the help

  • this really helped

  • your timings well out work on your rythym

  • cool thanks man
