  • don.t you wonder sometimes ... why he get.s under your skin like this? ... i.ts magic (...dance <3).

  • Mike Garson was the 5th Beatle, y'know.

  • Bowie <3

  • Absolutely fabulous. Expect for that weakass piano player at the end. <3

  • One of my favorite songs ever.

  • Mike Garson is awesome. Saw him as part of a jazz trio a few months ago in LA. Great show.

  • I was only 2 when this was originally released. Bowie, along with Queen, Zep and other such amazing artists played the soundtrack to my life. Shame todays kids don't have such quality to accompany them through life unless someone is kind enough to introduce them to "old" music. Time to play it for the third time in a row - as good now as it was 34 years ago!

  • How can any one compete with this tune, already a vision in itself, created many sounds ago.. you rock David Bowie......

  • @orpheumshn I agree!

  • Bowie buts together ANOTHER killer band and quite possible the best he's ever had ...

  • @willrobm And I agree!

  • U rite! The piano was tooooo much!

  • @mobil930 No! I wish I could play piano like that!

  • @mobil930

The piano is one of the funkiest parts of this performance !

  • I preferred the minimalist version. this is too showbizzy. The piano solo was the last straw

  • @MrSlimjimk Well Bowie's always been a Showman, that's why he's still grteat. And as they say, There's no business like Show Business!

  • "*since this moment this is OUR country* #we will NOT# 1-throw rubbish in the streets 2- break any traffic light 3-pay any Bribe ...4-offend any one in the street 5-take anybody's right 6-say yes to any bad habit 7-say no to progress 8-touch any girl in the street 9-go around from the Metro's Exit, not to pay 10-say"its not my business" @@WE WILL TAKE OUR COUNTRY TO THE TOP@@ #I LOVE IT# AND I WILL ALWAYS DO" ((E G Y P T)) (from a friend in Hurghada ...this message came to me)
  • Man that chicka in white up front has a nice body!!!

  • @karachikid99 nice big tits on her

  • Bowie really knows how to make good music. That's just undeniable! \\õ//

  • great, great tune...just went to the shop buzzin my tit's off listening to this track!......

  • i LOVE the snare fills on this one <3

it's such a great great song!

  • Such a pleasure to see an artist that has sold over 140 million albums, and now has nothing left to prove, David is now genuinely enjoying himself, and it shows

  • Fucking flawless performance....pale blinds drawn all day, nothing to do, nothing to say...

  • As a "Yank" (fucking douchebag term) I fell well suited by this. Now...suck my balls

  • The whole "Live by request" thing is a load of shit to suit the yanks.

  • Very unfortunate that the audio is distorted. :-( Such a great song.

  • David Bowie's music lives on, and different to some other "old" stuff, it has stood the test of time, and people do not listen to him just because they are nostalgic. His music is timeless and will still be listened to in decades and maybe centuries. I think his genius should be much more appreciated.

  • David has a great voice but this song needs no words

just going to put it back on fro the 4 th time

  • so tight

  • youve got to love uncle fester on the piano

  • If you know anyone who likes beyonce, lady gogo, britney spears, emimen etc point then towards this video. hopefully it will 'fix' their taste in music!

  • @despicablenerd would that it were so...

  • @MsOccular ????

  • Listen to this Simon Cowell, Hang your head in shame because of what you and your kind have done to music. David is a god

  • @bleeptester Spot on! Cowell has destroyed the music industry

  • I'm in love with this song.

  • masterclass in how to make good music

  • That invisible violin cost a fortune

  • Has anyone ever seen him in the daylight? I'm thinking he may be a vampire, b/c the Thin White Duke does not age. What a brilliant artist. This song was so ahead of its time in 1977.

  • @StaceofCakes agreed.

  • why is he wearing headphones?

  • @ateasdale38 This is a live-by-request thingy. The headphones are so he can hear the callers.

And yet, here I sit, Liker # 1,540.

  • @auuggghhh so glad for you Liker # 1,540

  • Was David Bowie just full of great lyrics and catchy hooks, or what?! Song after song, he just poured out some amazing work. He always had a ear for the best musicians too; he surrounded himself with the best talent he could find. What ever happened to true, original talent such as this?

  • Sexy, Sexy David Wish you would come in concert again. Missing those good old days .

  • Don't you wonder sometimes...bout salmon fishing? lol! XD

  • keys solo ftw!!!

  • He's wearing the puffy shirt!

  • Had a discussion with a young friend the other day who compared Lady Gaga to Bowie. I laughed and laughed- she changes her look but not the music- he changed his look AND the music along with it...

  • @andyr1313 lol that mug lady gaga thinks if i create enough of a fuss i'll be a musical/artistic genius??? not in bowies league or even near it???? he's the original innovator.

  • The live version is the best!

  • that guy on drums, is the most efficent drummer i seen in a long time, absolutley brilliant with no big show off, just gets on with it and runs away with the performance

  • @aaroncork1972 he , Sterling, is quite good though Dennis Davis is my favorite Bowie drummer. go over to bowiewonderworld and read Sterling's account of how when he was 14, Dennis moved into his building, befriended him, and took him to a Bowie show at Madison Square Garden (the Stage tour). Talk about passing the torch....

  • Is that Mike Garson on the piano? Mike Garson is a genius.

  • GREAT TUNE !!! THANX !!!

  • since i found this version i cannot stop going back to it. every instrument is played superbly and compliments each other (including the piano which i think is brilliant) when ive got more time i want to learn this on my guitars and drums fantastic!!

  • Forget the cow bell -- I need more Bowie.

  • rascasse1 - thanks for your comment, isn't it such a shame?

Will we ever get back on track to the point where people just write and perform good songs, without all todays nonsense of the kind I mentioned before?

  • What the hell happened to popular music since this was around, over 25 years ago?

People stopped bothering to learn to play musical instruments, or being able to sing(well, if you've got Autotune, who cares if you can't sing?)

As long as your video has got lots of half-naked people dancing around acting like pimps/gangsters/junkies, what's the problem?

  • @cruithneuladh there are a lot of artist who play instruments and sing. Just not in mainstream music

  • Bowie - a man of great class and style! No matter what, he's one of the most handsome leading men in rock 'n' roll, and his talent and ingeninuity surpasses the majority of them all... Love ya, David.

  • Mike Garson on keys....mad man but a genius

  • ¡ FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS!, DAVID. Sin tus canciones este mundo no sería lo mismo.

  • Happy birthday, Bowie!

  • who's the drummer?

  • @powderedtoastman38 Sterling Campbell. He used to be in Soul Asylum.

  • @powderedtoastman38 Sterling Cambell

  • Who is on lead guitar? Earl Slick?

  • @texanfournow Earl Slick's in the glasses, the other guitarist by him is Mark Plati, and the blond guy on the other side is Gerry Leonard.

  • immer wieder geil der typ

  • ‎"I will sit right down, waiting for the gift of sound and vision / And I will sing, waiting for the gift of sound and vision / Drifting into my solitude, over my head"♬

♪"Don't you wonder sometimes?? / 'Bout sound and vision" ♬

  • The Drummer is the man!!!!...cool guy....but Bowie is awesome...

  • IVE BEEN A FAN OF BOWIE FOR 35 YEARS..35 YEARS! AS A TEENAGER IN LIVERPOOL I WAS OUTCAST AS HE WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT TO ANYTHING WE KNEW THEN SO I WAS A WIERDO / GAY ETC... IM A DAD WITH 6 KIDS I LIVE IN LONDON AND HAVE MET DAVID MANY TIMES THOUGH HE WONT REMEMBER ME . HIS MUSIC HAS KEPT ME SANE THRU ALL SORTS OF SHIT ..A SCOUSEINSANE.. THANKS MATE

  • @JohnC8788 you're right it was a bit dangerous at times being a Bowie fan then, but what an outlet for a creativly minded youngster then- he awakened t endless possibilities, made the world seem so much larger and multi-facetted to this boy of 13 in 1973. resspect scousebowiefan (you're not Ian McCullogh are you?)

  • Outstanting!

  • Best intro ever!

  • I love him! forever and ever!

  • my dad used to be Bowies cocaine dealer

  • @monkeylennon LOL, that would be oddly cool if it were true.

  • @monkeylennon IS HE A SCOUSER? IF NOT THEN YOUR A LIAR..ASK DAVID

  • @JohnC8788 he was born in Brixton in London :)

  • @monkeylennon Wow, that is something to be proud of, NOT.

  • Jajajajajaja, that's so funny but I don't know if that should be something about to pride.

  • @monkeylennon Your Dad must be one Hell of an Arse Hole. something for his son to be proud of?

  • @monkeylennon damn monster bragging rights XD

  • Sure he will miss him

  • let your dad speak for himself !

  • @monkeylennon

don't speak for your dad !!

  • @monkeylennon So...he was a 'nobody' huh!!

  • @monkeylennon - wats hiz phoneno?_?

  • @monkeylennon Really? Are you serious? That kinda means your pops is largely responsible for Station to Station and Low. I wish I held that title.

  • @virginbirth Low was without drugs mate.

  • @ledgerdeathshit recorded without coke yes, but some of the songs were conceived and are lyrically about his time as a user. therefore without coke Low would have sounded entirely different.

  • @vorkutaman bollocks.

  • @vorkutaman bollocks. The album Low was done when he was helping Iggy Pop survive, recorded in Berlin, Coke? tsk tsk.

  • @AHandsomeman ??? your post makes no sense,I never said it it was recorded in Berlin, it was recorded in France ( only 'Heroes' was recorded in Berlin ). Iggy being on coke has sod all to do with the original post I was replying to. If you want to debate Bowie's work I'm happy to do so BUT please make a coherent point first.

  • @vorkutaman Not quite accurate. One of the tracks for Low was definitely all at Hansa, and the whole of Low was mixed at Hansa. Lodger was the album that had none of its recording or mixing associated with Berlin. The term "Berlin Trilogy" is used because Bowie was living in Berlin at the time and the music is probably representative of the atmosphere of that city at the time, a little bleak and edgy.

  • @FanaticRealist Yes I think you make a fair point. It's strange that Low is considered to be probably the most evocative of Berlin circa 1970's despite the fact that Bowie had not lived in Berlin ( possibly not even visited? ) when many of the songs on the first side were conceived. Regardless of any debates regarding the history of the album what cannot be denied is that it is an outstanding piece of work.

  • @AHandsomeman Yes, it was recorded in France, let's see Wikipedia.

  • @capitangugle Half of the stuff in Wikipedia is unchecked and not true.

  • How about that for an Intro!!!!! An inspiration to many artists

  • I will sit right down......

  • GOD OF MUSIC

  • Been a bowie fan since i was 13 in 1973, watched him three times live myself (1978, 1983, 1996) but what i see here on You Tube exceeds my expectations and imaginations about THE MAN. David and his listeners are bound with LOVE !

  • @MrSKINFLICK I agree. I've also been a David Bowie fan since I was about 12 and have all of his vinyl, well except one I think. His fans must truly be among the best in the world I think, and among the nicest people I've ever met.
