i wonder how it would feel if you were to balance all of your body weight on my solar plexis for as long as you could wearing those or in your bare feet? of course you are probably very light weight, although you are also probably very strong and muscular for your size, so you could use your muscles to add more pressure by pressing your hands against a wall while pressing your toes down on my tummy and twisting, grinding and kneading to try to squish me. would that be fun for you?
But now I'm about to get my new Russian pointes :) SO excited. The ballet store had to order my size because I have a weird size foot and they said it'd take about 2 weeks to get them in and 2m it'll b 2 weeks which mean I'll get them soon so I'm reeeeaaaallllllllllyyyy excited!!!!!
@Ese27esl I actually don't use anything in this video. I really don't like padding too much, it makes me feel as if I can't feel the floor as well, but I started using paper towels. You just fold and wrap them around your toes, it helps to cushion and absorbs sweat :)
Toe pads are very popular, and work really well, though.
you have good feet and I love your arches. It's really too bad if you'll never do pointe work again :( darn injury. be more careful next time and I hope you can still go on pointe. just take it slow and easy :)
how are freeds support wise? do they last longer? stronger shank? im looking for a really hard shank. mine died too quickly. if you could help thatd me great!
@pointeguru18 They are not particularly strong, but I feel they are supportive for me. Everyone's foot is different. The Freed classics are really good for narrow feet with high arches and tapered toes. The one's I'm wearing in the video are a 5 shank, which is the hardest one, but they aren't very hard. I like to wear soft shoes because I feel it helps me have better balance. If you want a really hard shank, try a grishko. The 2007's are really sleek and pretty hard. Hope this helps!
@pointeguru18 I got a pair of suprimas and the shank is quite hard, that was the only reason I bought them because my shoes died too fast all the time. also I have suprimas and I have squared toes
Okay, first, try not to sit in your shoes as much, so try to pull up out of your hips more, and go through the feet more in eleves, and releves. Then it will look much better! Do you wear gel pads? If you do, it tends to be easier to sink into your shoes, or at least make it look like you are. You have good arches, so it should be relatively easy to fix. Hope this helps!
@ballet4ever321 10 years. Because of a semi recent injury, my dancing career has, unfortunately, been terminated. But after extensive therapy, I'm now dancing recreationally again, but no where near the caliber that I was before.
@sbdancer131 I don't wear any kind of padding in my shoes, I find that I can feel the floor a lot better without them. And thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, due to an injury I sustained several months ago, I am no longer able to continue my dancing career. I just this week began taking a class to get back into shape and to regain muscle memory, but it's hard to say if I'll ever do pointe work again. If I do, I'll be sure to keep that in mind :)
@makeupfanpire Mine don't. I break in shoes really fast, but I also like when my shoes are kind of dead, so it really depends on your preference. Freeds are only like, 3 hour shoes. So I wouldn't expect much more of a life out of them than your Capezio's. Good luck!
You have wonderful feet- high insteps, right? Only advice I have is to make sure you pull up out of the shoes, as when you have such good points naturally it can push your feet over them. I didn't see you do that, mind, so I think you'll be fine, it's just what I as warned about :)
Hey love those pointe shoes on you and I also love freeds! They look amAzing! But u should have elastics and ribbons on ur pointe shoes it is dangerous to go up without ribbons and I would suggest not going on carpet cuz u could slip!!! Just saying but u so have great feet and u get up on ur block very nicely!
@BalletDancerrr ur welcome. do u three-quarter ur freeds because i tried freeds a while ago and they're seriously as hard as steel-toe workboots!!! hahaha. but how did u get them so broken in so fast? the shank on freeds are so hard
@queenallegro96 I guess I'm just used to them. I don't find them difficult to break in. The pair that I'm wearing in the video were brand new; that was the first time I wore them.
the vamp looks a little high, i think it would help free your foot a little more, and be able to actually roll through in your shoes. very good technique btw :D
You have beautiful feet! But just a question, aren't they dead?? I havr been on pointe for just one year, but i can tell they aren't very "new" as you say...
they look like a nice shoe. where do you get them from? is there like a shop or something??they make your arches look nice. i dont have a good arch, do you recemend them as a good shoe?
i like them.. if you ever consider getting maker freeds id recommend cutting down the sides a little to highlight your beautiful feet. and btw dont listen to the people saying they're too small, theyre perfect
They fit perfectly.... I got them too =) but how do you get the sole of new shoes so "soft" because the soles of my new shoes are always so "hard and straight" .... how do you breake them in?
Usually before I even put them on, I'll just bend the shank forward and backwards. Not too much though cause if you break it, it's going to severely shorten the life of the shoe.
holy cow, nice arches! you make the shoes look so pretty! I have been dancing on russians my whole life, but i just got a pair of new shoes, freeds, studio II.
Wow! i just wish i had those arches...instead i have strong feet that kill shoes pretty badly =O
those are great for your feet. Ive had alot of experience too,... and i cant stand it when people say im being dangerous.. haha, but i take it in anyway. those are sooo beautiful ! my Rusian Pointes are so dull, and not pinkish! haha, but i love them anyway!
haha, you know how I feel then. Which Russian pointes do you wear? They are great shoes, but they are very dull and lacking color haha. But if they look great, then who cares, right? Thanks so much!
You have the same problem my daughter has very strong arches and feet. It is really no problem ,,just means you are murder an a pair of toe shoes just like my daughter.
The shoes look like they fit beutifully. Take good care of those feet they are beautiful.
you broke in your pointe shoes a bit to much and a bit to early you should have waited until class to break them in because now they are going to die faster D;
in about a week im guna upload a newer video, but i need sum advice on how far can i get in rises, my feet look like they could go further, but iv pushed them to their limit! :)
I am jealous of your arches... anyways, I personally never liked freeds because every shoe is handmade, so you have to try on 1000 pairs of shoes before you get the right one! isn't it annoying?
It depends on your foot structure. If you have wider feet, I'd go with blochs. Also, Freeds are really expensive and don't last long, so they might not always be worth it. You can always try a grishko though, they last for a long time and can work for almost any foot type.
how did you get your arch? it's so pretty.. i'm jealous. i read your one comment that said you'd give up good feet for good turn out. but you've got both! and i've got neither! it's so sad. but your feet are beautiful and so is your turn out. be grateful :)
My arch is natural =( sorry I can't help you out with that. Although, there is this thing called a Chinera (sp?) Foot stretcher that you can order through like dance distributors and that works, too. I have it, but I don't use it...i should start...haha
and no, I have really terrible turn out from the hip. It's sad. Any advice?
technically, Freeds are only 3 hour shoes, but I find that I can wear them for about a week until the box is shot. Although, I prefer dancing in almost completely dead pointes and I wear mine for up to or over a month. Not everyone can do that, and if you're looking for a shoe with a hard box, I wouldn't recommend a Freed. You're probably the best off with Grishko's
Very nice arches and good control of your feet. Freeds look amazing on your feet =] nice to see someone pulled up and out of their shoes instead of relying on the shank to take all the weight
i would get off of the rug and onto the wooden floor. wen u eshape (sorry about spelling) if moves in a bad way. i have gotten my 16th pair of Russians, but i might try freeds. they look nice on your feet.
When making this video, I considered the floor but turned it down. Bran new satin pointes on a smooth wood floor? I was begging for an injury. That's a practice rug, it's not thick, and yes it does bunch and doesn't allow for optimum positioning, but it was much safer than the floor. Sadly, that's the best place I have in my house to wear my shoes.
You have pretty feet, and you make me want to try freeds next, I wonder if they'll fit me, I've been looking and they seem like they would fit.... hmm...
Do you have narrow feet? Because our feet kinda look similar. haha
i wonder how it would feel if you were to balance all of your body weight on my solar plexis for as long as you could wearing those or in your bare feet? of course you are probably very light weight, although you are also probably very strong and muscular for your size, so you could use your muscles to add more pressure by pressing your hands against a wall while pressing your toes down on my tummy and twisting, grinding and kneading to try to squish me. would that be fun for you?

haha I'd give up good feet for good turn out. Everyone has their own great qualities!

eep are you dancing on a mat?
is that not dangerous?
xx
terriidoll 2 years ago
it could be.
The floor would have been much more dangerous. And I'm doing like the most basic ballet ever. There is no reason for concern, but thank you for it.

Ah! I'm in love with your turn out!
How'd you do it?
XfomeyloverX 2 years ago
Haha honestly, it's such an illusion. I have TERRIBLE turn out. Sorry, if you have any tips though, feel free to share! =)

how long do the boxes usually last on freeds? i've used russian points ans grishko shoes, but i go through the box in a couple weeks
thatgirlismeT 2 years ago
technically, Freeds are only 3 hour shoes, but I find that I can wear them for about a week until the box is shot. Although, I prefer dancing in almost completely dead pointes and I wear mine for up to or over a month. Not everyone can do that, and if you're looking for a shoe with a hard box, I wouldn't recommend a Freed. You're probably the best off with Grishko's

you have nice feet! what size are those? they look really small.
cassidymoomoo 2 years ago
I think they are 5.5?
I wear an 8 - 8.5 street shoe, so they aren't that small.

Very nice arches and good control of your feet. Freeds look amazing on your feet =] nice to see someone pulled up and out of their shoes instead of relying on the shank to take all the weight

I love those shoes :) you have really pretty feet!

i would get off of the rug and onto the wooden floor. wen u eshape (sorry about spelling) if moves in a bad way. i have gotten my 16th pair of Russians, but i might try freeds. they look nice on your feet.
altivo4ev 3 years ago
When making this video, I considered the floor but turned it down. Bran new satin pointes on a smooth wood floor? I was begging for an injury. That's a practice rug, it's not thick, and yes it does bunch and doesn't allow for optimum positioning, but it was much safer than the floor. Sadly, that's the best place I have in my house to wear my shoes.
BalletDancerrr 3 years ago
good point :D. I usually just practice a bit with them on wooden floor but with rosen so i am okay.
altivo4ev 3 years ago
They look great on your feet. They have a nice low profile on the side.

You have pretty feet, and you make me want to try freeds next, I wonder if they'll fit me, I've been looking and they seem like they would fit.... hmm...
Do you have narrow feet? Because our feet kinda look similar. haha
klutzarina 3 years ago
Yeah, they are pretty narrow. I have really tapered toes. But I wear like a size 8 1/2 street shoe haha I have big feet
