Since when does Dennis Skinner have any clue about running anything?
In 13 years of Labour government it seems all he was doing was bottling up his rage so he could attack the 'Tories' when they came back to power (hence why you won't find a video of anything he did between 1997 and 2009).
Why such a man is a hero of the Labour movement, I'll never know...
@tdp1909 I doubt very much that he is a hero of the "Labour movement", whatever that is. But he is an oasis of blunt honesty in a desert of liars, con-men/women and hypocrites in the House of Commons.
@ModestMojoVanishes I'll give you that - I do have *some* admiration for the fact he is brutally honest.
Admire Tony Benn more as he could do the same without putting people's backs up. Or Clement Attlee who was true to his principles *and* got stuff done.
@tdp1909 Clement Attlee - there's the best of the lot of them. Best peacetime PM of the 20th C. Tony Benn, for all his sterling qualities, worries me somewhat - his political philosophy and style remind me too much for comfort of those of an evangelist - he seems to have an unwavering, unshakeable faith in his beliefs. In the best way possible, I admire him most as a comedian - he is a very funny man indeed.
@ModestMojoVanishes I agree with you about his suggestions being laughable, but he did give us Concorde and, like all radicals, he perhaps at his best when criticising: /watch?v=3WbtFga4c3g
Skinner is clearly forgetting this massive MASSIVE debt has been totally caused by Labour--and along with economic mismanagment the Labour scum have ensured an entire generation have missed out on so many opportunities. I wouldnt vote for them if you held a loaded gun to my head.
skinner is a typical labour idiot. He forgets, as does the british media & labour voters, the massive damage that labour have done to the so-called uk. It is shocking and disgraceful that they cannot even be called to account for their actions. They are all utterly useless and that includes the lib-dems and tories (blue labour) because they're all the same now. We are effectively governed by a 3-party dictatorship
£500bn to stop taxpayers money vanishing was a price that I do not mind paying, tories wanted to leave it up to the stock market... I can see that would have worked, makes £500bn look farely megrae to that proposal!
The fact that spiteful Cameron had to ignore the facts rather than acknowledge that Skinner was talking sense. The fact is Cameron is an ageist, reactionary, rightwing toff who doesn't live in the real world, he justs wants to be Earl of Witney!
@CookieCrumblz I'm not going to leave you alone until you start debating economics with me. You think you can get away with questioning my economic skill whilst at the same time refusing to even debate the topic with me. Think again.
@TheLiberalKnight Harassment will get you nowhere. It is obvious you have issues, it is obvious that you lack knowledge about economics. But if you want an economics debate so badly, answer this - why is it that when I started to ask you about the deficit you refused to give an idea or indication about what the government should do, you just attacked Labour's economic policy with no groud whatsoever! I mean you are extremely hypocritical. Now, if you carry on stalking I will report you!
It was also LABOUR who had our economy growing (what a difference it is now), was it also LABOUR who caused the global stock market to crash? Oh wait, you must read the Daily Mail... that never happened.
A rare glimpse of Skinner, dripping like a septic arsehole.
How apt he should be seated next to another also-ran, Ronnie Campbell, a man elected on an assurance he would do the job for a miner's wages!
Ronnie regularly claims £400 from the taxpayer for an essential element of his parliamentary duties which is clearly a taxpayer commitment.......food!
Great to see trad. socialists upholding working class morals.
your lovely little description completely ignores the fact that deniis sinner has been representing the traditional side of the labour party that opposed new labour very strongly but of course that doesn't make you sound big and clever. Another youtuber who thinks he's some kind of political pundit.
Good old Dennis, the man who put entertainment in to politics. If it was up to the fucking Tories, they would tax him for it. Bloody right wing money grabbing bastards.
The only difference between them and a medieval hero ??? They rob the poor to give to the rich !!!!!
It's funny, because your little "description" fails to acknowledge the very fact Dennis Skinner came out with in the first place: under the Tories, the rich get richer.
I think Dennis Skinner is great. A true Working class decent politician. who cares about people from disadvantaged backgrounds. unlike the tories who just use the excuse of the deficit to make the poor poorer, cheered on by the liberals. i hope both are consigned to the dustbin of political history.
@sopranosfan87 Dennis Skinner wouldn't look out of place stood on a soapbox with a loud hailer at Marxists Corner spouting his bile. He doesn't represent the working class, much like you don't represent the thinking class.

What the person who wrote the description should note is that Dennis Skinner is true Labour not the scum Tony Blair New Labour.

I have to admit that Cameron really pulled it off. There are not many prime ministers who can talk back to Skinner like that.

@sopranosfan87 You're using his background as an indicator of his moral character. This has proved throughout history, to be dangerous.
