  • what facist group(s) use the southern cross as their flag? I always thought everyone would associate the flag with the left side of politics, its a workers flag and always will be

  • There was a nasty far right group called National Action that used this flag, but I think that they're long gone. Nationalists, of cause, will be atracted to it, but Eureka was a rebellion for demacratic rights rather than nationalist asperation.

  • The racists are probably too stupid to know that two black men, one from New York and one from Jamaica, were among the thirteen ringleaders put on trial for treason, and subsequently acquitted.

The mighty Eureka flag is the first expression of democratic multiculturalism and the only answer to the racists is to have the flag embraced by all who want a non-racist and anti-imperialist republican Australia.

  • White supremacists think that because there was some strong anti-Chinese sentiment on the goldfieds that the Eureka flag stands for white pride. But Rafaello Carboni called on all miners irrespective of religion, colour or nationality to stand together, and described Australia as the refuge for all the oppressed on earth.

  • Thanks Andrew

  • you rock man, there isn't even guitar to that song , anyone could learn that, rocks \m/

  • Truly great song and great flag to embellish it the flag has been used for many things and many causes To most it is just an up yours we are who we are deal with it...

  • i think white power groups use this flag because it represents standing up for what you believe is yours by right, also the miners at eureka were not socialists, they wanted less government interferance in their lives not more

  • can anyone answer a question for me? If this flag was first used by the miners at euraka in 1854 then later used by the union movement, why do white power groups in australia use it? i've seen them waving it around at their rallys and on thier websites. By what right and what's the historical reasoning behind them using it?

  • they use it sometimes for what your saying because of what it represents. it can be used for things 'the man' feels is un-just so if people think immigration is unjust (in particular for it claiming aussie jobs) peopel use it to reach out to political parties to help with that. ALSO its not a modern thing to use it racially, if u read about the flag at its time of creation it was used racially against the chinease to a large extent when diggers protested/attacked them.

  • Great stuff. Keep it up. We need more like you singing songs about our struggles. Thanks.

  • The long forgotten John Howard has been spotted in the blue mountains!!!

  • Eureka was the closest thing we came to all out war wasn't it?

  • It could have, but i dont think that it would. Although it did show the poms that we were prepared to do so.

  • great song mate :)

  • Tiocfaidh Ar La!!

  • Is this gaelic? I'm afraid you'll have to translate.

  • sorry thats irish for "our day will come" it was the catch cry of the republicans during the troubles of northern ireland

it's pronounced similar to chokee ar lar

that would be phonetical spelling of an aussie accent , I guess lol
