Thank you so much. Yeah we miss him a lot. I appreciate your kind words. Dad was on another planet. LOL This recording is over 40 years old and it still stands up!
Thanks FunkyKingston, I appreciate your kind words. Yeah dad was a talented musician. Eddie Fisher & the Next One Hundred Years was an experiment with Funk, Rock, Jazz and Classical music. On Rhapsody you can listen to a track called Beautiful Things which has most of the elements mentioned. Enjoy and thanks again for listening!
@StreetSmartVideo I've listened to everything I could find and it's great music! I heard your Father on my car radio a few days ago. I'm always so happy to discover good music. Thank you for posting these gems! Aloha!
Your dad was one funky mutherfucka. It's sad alot of 20-something people like me don't have any concept of the power, flow, and groove of funky shit like this.
Herbie Hancock, Grover Washington Jr., The Isley Brothers. The OGs live on.
You know it's the young crate vinyl diggers that ressurrected any interest in my dad's music. Before he passed away I would share anecdotes from blogs that people were writing about him. He always smiled when i told him. And now we're discovering just how many people sampled his music. Of course he never got paid but just the same he was flattered.
One of my favorites (i jazz guitarist) for a long time. Nice sweet blend between jazz and rock. I think even Jimi should be a little jealous. I just found out he passed away two years ago when i was writing an article about him. I'm glad he left us with some fine pieces of music! May his music live on forever.
Jimi Hendrix was one of my dad's influences. He love the hardcore jazz artist but my dad played everything from jazz to ragtime to hard core rock. He also loved the beatles and billy preston. Thank you for your kind words Peace!
This album is incredible! every cut is funkypsychadelicjazz at it's best. late condolences to you and your family. your dad was one hell of a musician, man! nuff respect due!!
Soln4suhreborn thanks for your praise of my dad's music. Jeremiah Pucket is one of my favorites too. I remember my dad rehearsing this in our basement. I also love "Beautiful Things" because it fuses classical jazz and funk without missing a beat. My dad was way ahead of his time. In the 90's someone coined the phrase Acid Jazz. Well as you can see Eddie was doing it way before then. LOL Thanks for posting East St. Louis Blues.
I did not know that he was from Arkansas. How did I miss that? I live in Fayetteville, read Waxpoetics every month, and collect soul/funk/rnb/jazz/disco records.
Great work chronicling this, big love to your father and to yourself!
i dont no ppl go forward in time i am going bakwards frm limp bizkit to nirvana to megadeth to pink floyd n zeppelin to dylan n now landed on miles davis eddie fisher n GOD knows ill reach stone age bt tell u wat IT GETS BETTER AND BETTER
Does anyone know where I can find more of Eddie's CDs? I have this one but I can't find anything else by him. Are they out of print? whats going on? HELP!
I didn't know Eddie died, my condolences. He was one of the greatest jazz guitarist I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Third Cup was my favorite album, he did magic. I only wished I could see him live. I live in NYC now, but since I am originally form the STL I'm giving him STL love. If you know where I can get Third Cup please let me know!!!
Damn, your dad is Eddie Fisher? Your Father had some incredible talent! love his music!
