  • @articzoo

sigd just means pillgrammage so,... I guess it means any holiday involving travel in large groups.

  • i have no idea what hes saying .. is it in hebrew? the only thing i understand is the word Amen :)

but its beautiful to watch. It warms my heart to see our jewish brothers back in the homeland

    Am Israel Chai

  • @metalic...

It's not hebrew it's amharic, one (of many) ethiopian languages... the main one though...

  • @prince2lazik actually its not amharic its ancient Ge'ez one of the oldest semitic languages only used by the jewish ethiopians and the orthodox christians of ethiopia and eritrea

  • im waiting for my people to return home.... i love all my brothers and sisters..... love you... i might not pratice but i keep the tridition....... love ...love ..love... god does and will always bless... i love you all .... god is and will always be in our hearts... i miss you.... i pray god will allow you to return when his will is done.... let god keep the light upon you and never let your heart turn harder than stone or black as sackcloth.... keep the light... love you all... god bless

  • As far as I know Geez is an ancient precursor to Amharic.

  • Geez is older than hebrew and aramaic, and comes from Ur (Ancient Babylon)

  • @EthiopianNews Ge'ez does not come from babylon but was spoken before the tower of babel incident

  • A jew is a jew.

    All jews rock.

    Period.

  • People are always better when they know and understand, not memorize things and cannot change anything. Love is a strange thing, you have to forget and must not be too sensitive about oneself only.

  • This ethiopian are the ancient ruler of the world gee'z is the ancient language of summer Amar or Amorites.

  • More power to the Ethiopian Jews they have every right even more the the Land Of Israel. They have not changed, but the European Jews have tremendously Changed. Their ways are so much more colorful and rich and more ancient than those of European ancestry. YasherKoah !

  • Thanks for your insights! I will say it again for those who chose to read through it. ETHIOPIAN JEWS LOOK THE SAME WAY AS THEY DID DOING THE BIBLE DAYS. THOSE JEWS WHO WENT TO EUROPE CAME BACK LOOKING LIKE EUROPEANS. There is another set of black Jews in South Africa; they are from the tribe of Levi. This is the preistly tribe. When a White Professor from South Africa went to DISPROVE them, the results were proven through DNA that they were more Jewish than anyone in Israel.

  • The South African tribe you speak of is the Lemba and they most likely came from Yeman and migrated to Africa many years ago, possibly leaving Israel for Yeman before the destruction of the first Temple.

  • AbbaTateq -All the jews used to change there name even the first Ashknazi prime minister Ben-Gurion changed his name.

These days no one is forced to change his name and can have any name.

    Shalom and peace to you.

  • I hope the EThiopian Jews base their culture and religion on their own and not the Ashkenazi or Sephardic Jewish traditions...

  • they base thier traditions on Judaism of their own tradition from Ge'ez liturgical script. Their torah is called the 'ORIT' and is a bound book written in Ge'ez, the semitic language which is the foundation of Amharic - their current vernacular. Look up the Sigd in more detaial and you will find that they are the only accepted Jewish group that performs it. It is quite a beutiful ceremony that takes place at hakotel hamaaravi.

  • the ethiopian girls are very beatifule like the yemen and isreali girls

  • ethiopia,yemen

    we have the same blood.

  • not really.its close though.but their are to many different tibes in ethiopia to be same blood.but the ethiopian kingdom of aksum did rule in yemen for a while

  • its sounds like tigrinya.

  • It is not Tigrigna. It is a mixture of Ge'ez and Amharic. FYI, both Amharic and Tigrigna derived from Ge'ez. Today Ge'ez is a language of the Ethiopian church.

  • Yep u right

  • you have to be a levite i think or somthing......lol dnt ask me i dnt communicate well with my jewish famly they all speak hebrew and i barely lol

  • Why do Bet-Israel children change their Ethiopian name or should I say why do they modifye it when they enter Israel ???

  • Because they want to. It's a way of connecting to and reclaiming their past. Jews from Europe whose names were Europeanized over time also attempted to semitize their names when they came to Israel.

  • i am ethiopian jewise(beta israel)and i wont to send peace and love to all my jewise brathers and sisthers in the world i send peace to you from jerusalem god bless you all !

  • back at u

  • ethiopian girls very looks very nice

  • יַעֲשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם עָלֵינוּ, וְעַל כָּל-עַמּוֹ יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאִמְרוּ אָמֵן.

  • amen

  • this is so very beautiful and also very interesting to watch this video as well.

thank you very much for posting this beautiful video here.

    shalom aleichem.

  • I would have mistaken them for the Ethiopian orthodox chirstians.

  • With kippot on their heads... get glasses, please.

  • Ethiopians (Aksumite Kingdom) use to be Jews before converting to Christianity approximately 300AC. Most population did't want to convert to Christianity but the King at the time, Emperor Ezanus, converted. After long fight Christianity started winning and the Ethiopian Jews lived in isolation as an outcast. Ethiopian Orthodox Church did not abandon Jewish customs. Even Churches are designed is a testament to that. Example: Tabot, replica of Ark of the Covenant in every church.

  • Well... both use Ge'ez as their liturgical language... but a Christian liturgy sounds totally different.

  • Shalom aleichem = Salam alaikum (Assalam mualaikum) = Peace unto you

  • don't forget the Ge'ez: Selam le-kulikimu

  • So beautiful the real true Jewish descandents of Moses and Abraham.

  • Peace unto you, Habashas. No matter where.
