I dont think they should be compared! I love them both but all vampires are represented differently by the authors.I think many people are simply refering to the Twilight film which seems quite ridiculous to people who ahvent read the book and some that have. In interview with the vampire and queen of the damned, even though both books are written by the same person, the films are very different and so is the portrayal of lestat. people can get too defensive, you can always like both :)

Hell, after reading your comment, I've changed my outlook on the whole edward/lestat thing. You have a very valid point. They shouldn't be compared because they originally weren't meant to be. Plus, their roles are completely different. I, personally, prefer the queen of the damned Lestat over Interview with a vampire's Tom Cruise. It's all just opinions.

That's not the only thing. Lestat is cold and cruel, like a vampire should be, while Edward's weak and sappy. I don't mind the glittering in the sun all that much because vampires in themselves are romanticized and fictional (except for the ones with energy deficiencies btw), but Lestat is MUCH better as a character than Edward is. Vampires suck human blood. They're meant to be cruel.

Only after the Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles were written in the 1970s did vampires show any form of emotion

@xxlovelessxxalicious yup, ur right, up to the novels of Anne rice, vampires were just "monsters", with no emotions at all, but one way or another, they were humans once (as the mythology dictates), so, in my humble opinion i think that vampires have some sort of opinion, if you refer it as a psicology, its the reflection of the monsters living within each person, and dont worry, i dont take it as an attack ;D ur pov is correct :D, i just want to anthropomorphize something that is not real :P

Ann Rice mind is beautiful the movie doesn't do the justice of the bookseries,but the actor Lestat capture the embodiment of our disassociation of the world we live in now. the book isnt about vampires that's just the surface look deeper and the intrigue is the expression of the dark side of human nature.well written work like that of stephen king tap into our collective conscious of self expression.i thought it was decent even chronicles of riddick was great as well on a b classproject rating.

Because of some problems with his/their record label Jonathan Davis was unable to sing on the Queen of the damned album, therefore Jay Gordon is sining the album version.
