But registered as Secretariat. But that isn't true, bc any one involved in the horse racing business knows Ruffian was the official name

I know that they used Multiple geldings to play Ruffian. however, did anyone else notice how before "She" goes into the stall, "she" is very stocky, and has a long untrimmed mane, and then when "she" is in the stall, its nice and short and cut? lol, they need to do a better job making different horses look alike. And possibly hiding the male parts on a horse that is supposta be a mare... :)

@I0Watch0Fred They use geldings in movies in place of mares. The mares tend to be more tempermental and high spirited. Geldings are easier to handle than mares and tend to have the build of a mare, so they are passible.

im a trainer myself, can tell u sometimes i tell jockeys not to use the whip and thats a double side thing, i want the horsie to be relax or simply dont want to show the horse potential at that point. maybe i want to hide a horse for the next race if u know what i mean lol. in puerto rico at least at the inscription box, you select what equipment the horse will use , if i dont want whip i simply dont select it on the paper! maybe jockey feel temptin whipping the horse lol!
