its funny to read what people have wrote , you sure know the ones that fly quicks from the GA pilots , any way great video and great flying as well , check out quicksilver mx snoopy for aother great video of a quicksilver airshow .
I'm not ranting or raving,I just want to have safe respomsible pilots in the air with me. most people lack knowlede of meteorolgy one example is unexpected down drafts and pushing the Va at less than 10 feet sometimes could result in catisrofic failure and making you lawn darn in a blink of an eye! we need pilots like you to bring interest tp our beloved sport. I recommend a BRS as it could really improve your survival rate even if you come apart at 75 feet AGL. But fly on and take care!
Granted you have great ability to fly/control the aircraft. However...flapping your arms, taking them off the control stick is'nt impressive and is dangerous, skimming over the guy filming and starling him was what? Frame failure DOES occur injuring or even worse could happen to you and or others. seems without a doubt "hotdoging" and manuevers such as those are best kept above 500 AGL. in several shots you exceed Vy, Vc, Vno, Va,but in your defence I dont think you exceeded the Vno luckily.
I just purchased one of these, just like the one you are flying. It has the 377 engine, has always been hangered, and even has the safety chute. I was told by Quicksilver it really is not needed where I fly, just land it anywhere. I will fly around 1000 agl so gliding to a nice spot to land should be no problem. Can't wait to take to the air.
Tom, I have a Rotax 503 on the craft! It came with the old Cuyuna which was replaced by a Rotax 477 right after I purchased the craft! I then installed a 503 for the past 10 years or so with the proper propeller to compinsate for the H.P.!
my family buys them from quicksilver, puts them together, sells them, and will even train you in it. i started flying a quicksilver MX when i was 14yo. which is whats in the video. you can buy a used one for 4k easy. the kits take over 40hrs to complete, thats with 2 people who know WTF they are doing...... LOL @ the ending of the vid. i used to turn off the engine all the time for fun. they glide like a champ.
RAY You are one hell of a flyer. I wish I could take lessons from you. Absolutely super video!! I have an old Condor 1 similar to your old MX. Mine has left & right controlled spoilerons (3-axis) Should I use these in turns? The telephoto effect in your video really makes it exciting. You tricked a lot of people I bet. Safe flying, John
wow...you have all my respect...it is a really cool flight and more if considering the aircraft...we have a two axes quicksilver in our ultralight club in Peru, but nobody knows how to fly it...I tried but I failed...thanks for the video...
The homes in the back ground are MORE than 2,500 ft from the AIRFIELD where the flight was conducted and the flight path never crossed the boundry of the AIRFIELD DURING THE FLIGHT! I have 1,OOO HRS flight time in General Aviation aircraft,Fixed wing,Rotor craft, Gyros,Multi and over 2,000 hrs FLIGHT TIME with this aircraft over the past 15 years of ownership and know the aircraft better than the POPE knows the Bible!Put that in your pipe and smoke it!OH YEAH,I'M STILL AROUND
None of the flight was conducted recklesly or over wooded and populated areas! All the low level and turns in the flight was over open fields where a safe landing could be made in a failure! ZOOM on a camera DEPTH PERCEPTION helps with some effects and so does help when the camera man plays with the camera and makes comments while filming.
Page 1 of 2, Someone made a comment about this guy breaking every rule about flying ultralights!First of all,It wouldn't be an AIRSHOW without a little excitment.
if you engine stopped your eyes open to hospital ....because two stroke engine and low altitude.....

4,000 hrs, or no, that's what is commonly called "hot dogging"! Never really a good idea. We will probably "read about him", at some point.

I can accept your buzzing the camera man, but those steep climbs after rotation are a death trap if you have an engine out.

The noise must be hellish in the cockpit!
ib422000 3 years ago
Naaah, Ear plugs and/or Head Sets help keep the noise levels down greatly!!!!!
I'm wearing both!

@ib422000 lol what cockpit , yes i flew my first go around with ear protection it was insane ,also hurts being able to think lol
lowslowflyer77 1 year ago
Yes, It's equipt with the spoilerons, but they are not hooked up like normal!!!
I very Rarely even used them !!! I Don't like the idea of "SPOILING" the airflow over my wing when I fly!!!! SLOW AND LOW!!!
rsofia517 3 years ago
Nice flying. Are the spoilers connected to the pedals? Great little video.

"Air Show" -- that's funny. I think a 4-wheeler would be the better vehicle for riding in a pasture.
When she folds up, a helmet might save your life.

Looks like a fun day on the field. Impressive how you can flick that 2-axis plane around like that, esp in the low maneuvers!
lilbrudder32 4 years ago
If you try this, remember, SPEED!!!! Keep your speed up so you don't inadvertantly STALL or SLIP while in a turn!! "GOOD FLYING" Ray

is that a two axes control plane?...
jparro 4 years ago
Yes it is!!! I have spoilerons on the wings but I dont use them! Only after landing on a windy day to keep the aircraft on the ground!
