Arrived in Aust from Dublin in Aug 66..and this song seemed to capture the longing for the great early teen times with the gang back home. Pure teen culture shock. Where's those goddam tissues.
I love you Chris, suas canções falam de amor. isso é muito importante , me faz lembrar os anos 60. os bailinhos etc..... queria te ver no Brasil .......
He was one of my favorite singers of the 60's and his songs make me feel young again. The music today doesn't have the same sweet innocence (and neither does the world we live in now!) I feel sorry for young people of today, they missed what we had and we can still appreciate it. Thanks for sharing.
@DA90027 Such a true statement. And for Chris to be compared to Astrud Gilberto is even more awesome. There voices arent always on tune but its even better that way cause their style is just the best as well as that special sound and both are so humble and yet so great.they make us fell like we are all their special friends.
I remember mom would play her Chris Montez album over and over. Am so thankful to have been brainwashed with this wonderful music as a child. Hearing Chris Montez always transports me back in time to really happy days. xx
@klassworksmusic - my channel will transport you as well! This is the 91st song on my Music of 1966 playlist, one of 111 lists for every year since 1900. 300 artists are playlisted plus 100 lists more. 10,000 songs waiting to take you on a journey around the world or back through time!
@sexymama1966 this was sung by Nat King Cole on his show way back in the '50's. Other artist's that also sang this were, Vic Damone, Sarah Vaughn,. The more I see You was also recorded by several artists in the '50's. Chris Montez versions were very popular in the '60's. A very underrated artist.
I've never tired of listening to this in the 43 years since I first heard it. I'll always be in the mood for it; it's just about as perfect as can be!
Not a chartbuster compared to Chris's other hits, but I fed a lotta nickles into our drug store jukebox to spin this one. Haven't heard it in ages. THANKS jdh1974! Five stars for sending me there:)
