That was definitely one of the best TED (or TEDx) talks I've seen. He started off funny, kept it going throughout, and then ended on a very persuasive argument for positive thinking backed by researched science that was explained eloquently. What a great talk.
This guy has such an awesome sense of humour! I could watch this video all day. He definately is emitting positive vibes and I definately picked up on them and am now in a great mood :)
These TEDx talks are quickly becoming the forefront of TED. The stuff on their main site are lacking these days.... nothing close to this talk's quality.
This is what I have been telling people. You can go to school for as long as you want and still have no job. It doesn't matter how hard you push yourself into what society has taught you is the right way if you don't know how to apply the skills
Woooow. This is just amazing! I am studying the Law of Attraction, and being happy in the present is a huge part of it. Training your thoughts to be positive will do so much more for you than make you smarter, more creative or give you more energy. If you like this video I'd recommend anything about the Law of Attraction, and anything by Abraham Hicks.
i am not trying to dispute the ideas you are talking about regarding positivity, but one thing positive psychology gets flack for is the association people make between it and the Law of Attraction. Though superficially they sound similar, they are actually not. Law of Attraction if a marketing campaign used to make money on the basis that if you think about your desires, you will get them.
Positive psychology is based in the scientific and quantifiable study of
what makes life worth living. specifically, positive psychologists wish to extend the model of psychology to include concepts and research around the ideas of resiliency and happiness, among other things. what positive psychology does NOT do is just encourage people to be happy about everything all of the time -- something the law of attraction does. instead, positive psychology has shown that acts of kindness and gratitude can actually quantifiably change a person
to be more creative, productive, happy, etc. But like i said, positive psychology and the law of attraction are two totally different things. i think the intentions of the law of attraction can be seen as noble because they want people to be happier, but it is just a money making scheme. stick to the science that shows us what really works rather than the illogical teachings of a DVD you had to pay for.
Such a great talk! Put it to the test people and look for the positive in life. What a different world we would live in if we all followed his advice. I am going to start today.
