Later on in my life when I decide to get a life (I'm only 1-100 right now) anyway, when I get a life and have my own house and an Evangelist comes to my house I'm going to be a jerk and when he asks if I've ever sinned I'll just casually say nope *takes a casual sip of alcohol* and then invite him into my home to talk about God, and make him put his scripts down and use basic 1'st grade logic, note that I will be drunk while doing this, just to prove a point. :D
Jesus supposedly spent his days hanging out with whores, the diseased, and 12 'apostles' who had nothing better to do than follow him through the desert and hang on his every word... If someone did that today, many self-righteous Christians would label them a "sinner", a "faggot", an 'outcast', but 'Jesus' was a 'sinless man'?!?!?
Mr. NonStampCollector (if that is your real name): you think your so smart -- i notice you raffered to, but did not dare to disprove, that the banana is truth of god's existance. coward.
Fuck Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron! I have no respect for people who go around telling lies and have to resort to making people feel that they're bad because of arbitrary rules that a book listed ... just to try and indoctrinate them into believing those lies.
May I raise a little concern I have about you using a crescent on the book/leaf the guy on the right hands over to the one on the left. Our diin has no symbol, and I'm not comfortable with others defining symbols for us. Couldn't you write Islam or something to the effect on the book instead from your next video on? Thanks.
Hilarious! I see that Muslims and Christians are duking it out in the comment section here. Sadly, I used to be a practicing Muslim who did the same thing. How wonderful it is to finally be liberated of all religious nonsense as an atheist.
Not wearing silk and thou shalt not kill are totally the same thing, I get it now. BTW, is it comon place for non stamp collectors to obsess over the stamps they don't collect. Get back with me on that one and thanks in advance.
You just made a moral judgment about killing that does NOT come from God, but from your own personal and realistic understanding of human ethics.
The point of this video is that if you get your absolute morality from a holy book, and not from the ethics you just used, you can be told to do/avoid doing pretty much anything, no matter what it is. If God is real, and said tomorrow thou *shalt* kill, would you do it? No, you wouldn't, because it's wrong. But you'd be against your own God
That "book" was written hundreds of years after all of the events of Messiah took place and the first mention of Messiah was to Adam and Eve and there is no other belief or teaching before Adam and Eve. If something is true, it has to be true from the very beginning. As soon as there was sin, word of the provision for sin was given so we could look to the provision that only God can make for us Himself because there is no one else who can do anything for us.
@JungleJargon umm fresh skeptic meat I dont know what youtube or PBS series you have watched but I must warn you about the sensational industry it is very profitable. So much so that truth has been put on the back-burner for senseless rhetoric. Common sense would tell one that the entire cannon including Revelation had to be complete before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD. Its inconceivable that bible Jewish contemporaries would not mention such a catastrophic event in any of their writings

Well let's see here. Since poop is waste it should be ugly and smelly. And maybe God just has a sense of humor. :) It gives people something to laugh at if there is nothing else funny in this world. A ridiculously true answer to a ridiculousle question.
@TheEagleTeeth How do you know if the Egyptian poop God, Yoramoron, didn't create shit? And rather God did?
If you say the Bible said "God created every single thing on Earth", the Egyptian hieroglyphics, Qur'an, Vishnu and countless, various other Gods, from written scriptures, will answer back "Our Gods / God made everything too".
Evidence...You want evidence for God's hand in creation. Tonight go outside and look at the sky. Do you see the stars? Or the rising and setting of the sun isn't it beautiful? Then ask yourself. Can all this come from randomness? Or beauty from chaos? Are you saying laughter comes from the way chemicals react in my brain? Or that tears of my eyes are triggered not by a soul or a spirit? That the essence of thought is billions of brain cells randomly joining together for one purpose?
@strikerk Making an argument from ignorance and then stating it as common sense is idiotic so he was correct in calling you an idiot. But on the bright side, there may be some other intellectual pursuits where you are not an idiot, but when it comes to this you are.
@TheEagleTeeth calling things beautiful is doesn`t count as evidence.World doesn`t created for us, we just adapted for living in this world. If sky was green and grass was blue you still saying :"o you see green sky? Or blue grass? Then ask yourself. Can all this come from randomness? Or beauty from chaos? Are you saying laughter comes from the way chemicals react in my brain? Or that tears of my eyes are triggered not by a soul or a spirit?... "
@TheEagleTeeth *facepalm* Beauty doesn't come from God. Beauty comes from the world. We are a part of that world, God is not. He is a part of our immaginary world. All your feelings are natural. People think like they do because of the "chemicals" in their brains like you said, thats kinda weird if you think about it, but it is tue and we all should see the beauty of our human body, nature and other things that we see. I'm not the best to explain this because I'm not a scientist.
@TheEagleTeeth Ever take a crap on the sidewalk? Isn't it ugly? Then ask yourself can all that ugliness come from randomness? What about the smell? And the little pieces of peanuts?
@TheEagleTeeth You have convinced me that Allah created all of these things, and so that means Muhammad, peace be upon him, must have been His prophet. Thank you for showing me the light.
@TheEagleTeeth How is all of this proof of Yahweh's creation and not proof of Quetzacoatl's creation? Or the Greek gods' creation? Or the Assyrian gods' creation? Or the Mayan gods' creation? Or the Hindu gods' creation? Or any of an infinite number of gods that haven't been "discovered" by man's creation?
!!!*WARNING*!!!
Any reply containing the phrases or variations of the phrases "the Bible" and/or "Holy Word" will result in a thorough debunking of the Bible as a credible source for ANYTHING.
@nolordsnomasters Becuase Yahweh and Jesus both actually love what they created. And all those other god's you can tell are man made because the stories are ridiculous (yet entertaining. But to be honest Islam and Cosmic humanism are very convincining except for one thing love. Thats is a huge theme of the new testament in many of the books. Islam is all about earning your way to heaven. And cosmic humanism is all about yourself. But Christianity is about christ the redeemer and those around you
@TheEagleTeeth ... (sigh) That in no way answers my question. I'm asking what proof there is that just because things exist Yahweh created them. My warning about the Bible still stands.
Christianity has just as many ridiculous stories as the other religions I named. All of man descended from 2 people only 6,000 years ago? Walking on water? 900+ year-old men? A pair of every animal on Earth living on an ark for a year (Btw this means animals from undiscovered parts of the world)? Think about it.
@TheEagleTeeth You are simple a brainwashed, undeducated dummy not capable of critical thought, aren't you? Stop and read what you've written. You should feel ashamed for wasting your Apollo given intellect. LOL
The Bible has MORE ridiculous stuff in it than any other piece of fictional literature ever created. That's why it's the most sold and least read book in the world. You apparently haven't even read it.
The banana proves God exists, the crescent moon is shaped like a banana, therefore the banana proves Islam is the one true religion! How did we not see it before?!
@deathtris thats because the true thinker does not close his mind to the supernatural my friend. Unlike apes and fruit flies you were born to think beyond the natural
@2black4bet The "true thinker" does not default to the supernatural due to ignorance. Also, your comment is a non sequitur. I commented on an atheist sparking debate between two people of totally different faiths. That has nothing to do with the supernatural or "true thinking", my friend.
@deathtris one who holds a naturalist view as Hitler and Darwin did cannot believe all men and women are created equally as the bible suggest.“The more civilized so-called Caucasian races have beaten the Turkish hollow in the struggle for existence. Looking to the world at no very distant date, what an endless number of the lower races will have been eliminated by the higher civilized races throughout the world.”-Charles Darwin. Scales if you give it enough times would become feathers? laughable
@deathtris one who holds a naturalist view as Hitler and Darwin did cannot believe all men and women are created equally as the bible suggest.“The more civilized so-called Caucasian races have beaten the Turkish hollow in the struggle for existence. Scales if you give it enough times would become feathers? laughable
@KinguNoKin God does not need to defend himself. I am not defending Him I am stating a fact. I know full well He exists and no one who mocks Him will ever change my mind on that. Why if God does not exist do you guys who are Atheist even care what we say about Him? Seems to me you would just ignore it as it is foolishness to you. But something in you causes you to fight against it. Just proves even more to me God exists :)
@iamtamarichka Because we are fighting the plague that is killing off our children we make the idea of an invisible space daddy sound plausible? I saw your channel, and you are beyond salvation. There is no need to answer the question. I already know what you are going to say.
@iamtamarichka The reason we fight against your primitive belief in an insufferable invisible space unicorn is because the longer you fool yourself into believing such idiotic things the more likely it is you'll pass that on to your twelve children, who will then proceed to go work for Fox News and make the world a stupider place. If that's your goal, congratulations, you are a useless piece of garbage and you're a waste of a perfectly good egg and a perfectly good sperm.
@ChristianAntidote WOW stereotype much? Such hate and name calling in your post when you do not know me. My goal has nothing to do with Fox news, but to Glorify my Father which is in Heaven. For one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess He is Lord. So keep on using that tongue as you wish for now, for one day...
The Koran is not the inspired word of God. Muslim Christians were calling God "Allah" long before Muhammad arrived on the scene."is Islam even a religion" The apostle John said, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Allah, and the Word was Allah” (see John 1:1)Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world…” because he was 100% non-political. In contrast Muhammed and the Koran states fanatically "your kingdom is my kingdom, surrender or die!"
@2black4bet if you read the koran it's an entirely different story, and if they are the same god then why do they have such different views on things? I'm sure you don't consider rape a crime for the girl and then stone her...at least i hope not.
@kpgpwi64 there is only 1 God! words are equivocal meaning they can have different meaning. ask a Mormon who Christ is they will tell you something intirely different from what the historic Christian faith.the spirit brother of satan concieved in heaven as a result as the father having sex with mary? huh? So its what you put into the word that gives it its meaning not the word alone. Joseph Smith says god was once as we are now (man) "As God is man can become as God was man is" not the same God
@kpgpwi64 u have to ask yourself the mother of all questions the question Jesus asked his disciples and thus asking us as well "WHO DO YOU SAY I AM" Muslims dont say Christ was the same being as Christians Allah does not belong to Islam as I previously stated. Muslims dogmatically denounce the Christian declaration of Christ’s unique deity as the unforgivable sin of shirk. Therefore they could not possible believe as scripture dictates that Jesus is Lord. Therefore Allah in Islam is a false god
hate to quote a secular arttist but there is an old saying even a broken clock is right 2x a day" how can He(God)give you free will without giving you evil" God wants us to choose him of our own free will. now we are in no way on the same level as God but in his being there are some aspects of humanity in the way he relates to his creation. if you found a woman to marry you would prefer she came to you of her own free will instead of being forced or even convinced "we live by faith not by sight"
@2black4bet then why are you "forcing" people away from other religions to yours? and what if you and I are both wrong and zeus is the real god, now who will he understand better? the guy that chose not to believe in any god due to lack of evidence? or the guy that not only denied his existence, but worshipped a false idol and tried to steer people away from the idea of zeus?
@kpgpwi64 God doesn't force anyone to trust n believe in Him neither do I. If so he would have made us all programed robots to follow Him his way Christ Jesus. But he gave us free will to believe in Him his way or believe in some other god your own way. He has a place prepared for you. He wouldnt torture you by giving you eternity with Him when you want Allah or your money or you women or Buddah No he is a just God " I am the way the truth and the life NO man comes to the Father accept by me"
@kpgpwi64 "How could He give us free will without giving us evil?"-jay z hate to quote a secular artist but even a broken clock is right 2x a day. God has a plan for our lives but that doesn't mean we will choose his plan. God is not the author of evil. There is a debate among evangelicals on whether or not you even have a choice. I don't hold the Calvinist view however which suggest if you are elect you will believe if not you r doomed regardless of if you want to choose to believe
@kpgpwi64 God is not as we are subject to the confines of a 24hr solar day. He sits outside of time in what we call eternity past. He knew before He formed the world who would believe and follow and who would not believe. if I am not really saved then He knows im lying but I still am practicing my free will which He promised He would give man, to pretend im a Christian. Its very difficult for the finite to understand the infinite all we can do is apprehend these truths from scripture
I'm curious as to whether you have any basis for this. Or is it just your belief that there is only one god?
Looking at the evidence, such as the varying creation stories from unique gods, highly varied classes of life, and so on, there are likely many gods that have chosen different peoples around the world, after having worked side by side to create the world.
@Anon11674 Highly varied classes of life?there is only one high class and thats the human class He is the deceiver he cannot deny the power of God so he does everything to mimic the power of God. The mere fact that there are false gods eludes to the truth that we all have a void which can only be filled by the power of the true and living God. In other words like a 14 yr old teenager in search of love in all the wrong places so are the false religions searching for God in all the wrong places
"only one high class.." I don't know about this "high class" stuff and what your point is, but there's a wide variety of classes, such as insects, mammals, fish, plants, etc. Mollusks, insects, and mammals definitely look like they had different creators. The body plans are just so different!
"He is the deceiver.."
"He"? I hear that word applied to your main god, usually. Do you mean your 2nd (or 4th, depending on how you interpret the Trinity) god, the one usually called Satan?
That all sounds interesting, but is there any rationale behind any of what you say? I haven't come across anything that makes your beliefs seem any more true than what the rest of the gods' believers say. And others say your beliefs are false. How do I know they're not right, and your beliefs aren't the lies?
@Anon11674 The Christian faith is the only one that is rooted and grounded in history and evidence. Its not a blind faith as Mormonism or the Watchtower cult but a faith in evidence and history. Meaning whats found in the ground matches the events people and places in the scriptures. The people/laces r not made up fantasies The faith or supernatural aspects of Christianity of course cannot be verified in the natural but what separates the Christian faith from its counterparts is its historicity
Every religion tells of events from known history, as well as some that aren't. Including yours. I see this in every faith I come across. And how would that prove that there is only one god, and it is yours, anyway? You think people with a false religion couldn't include current events?
Doesn't the vast diversity of life point toward unique minds creating different kinds of life? If you look at a washer and a car side by side, wouldn't you think they came from different inventors?
@Anon11674 Can you show me a religion or faith that tells events and people that can be verified in history? Philosophically speaking we know there can be only one God just like you can only have one father. The cars are not side by side but instead a world apart however they all across oceans believe there is a higher power whatever that may be. Everyone could not have been brainwashed into thinking there is a God somewhere if they had no way to globally communicate this belief.
Also, a note. Just because it contains some history, doesn't mean every word in your scriptures is true. The people who formed your religion's stories were living in the times. It would be absolutely barmy if there wasn't any history at all in religious scriptures.
I spoke of comparing a car and a washer, and coming to the conclusion that they had different makers. I have no idea what you're getting at with what you said.
The fact that people across the world worship different gods points to multiple gods inhabiting this world, right? Your god once was only the local tribal god of the Hebrews. Before they and the Christ followers spread around the world, your god was unknown by most people outside the region.
@2black4bet Al-Qur'an is the verbatim word of ALLAH(s.w.t). And "Allah" was used by Arabic, Aramaic, and Hebrew speaking believers long before Christianity and Judaism. John 1:1 in Greek says the word was 'a' god. Not 'the' God. It would be silly to act as though Christians don't fuse religion and state when they obviously do. We Muslims submit to ALLAH(s.w.t) in every way. Whether it's political, spiritual, social, mental, physical, etc. Christians can half way worship if they want...
find out what scholars have to say about the original translation of john 1:1 the watchtower organization translation of the bible is not authoritative and its doctrine is not the same as the historic Christian faith."predicate nouns preceding the verb cannot be regarded as indefinite or qualitative simply because they lack the article; it could be regarded as indefinite or qualitative only if this is demanded by the context and in the case of John 1:1c this is not so."-E.C. Colwell
@JabrilAbdullah Randolph O. Yeager: "Only sophomores in Greek grammar are going to translate 'and the Word was a God.' The article with logos, shows that logos is the subject of the verb en and the fact that theos is without the article designates it as the predicate nominative. The emphatic position of theos demands that we translate 'and the Word was God.' John is not saying as Jehovah's Witnesses are fond of teaching that Jesus was only one of many Gods. He is saying precisely the opposite"
@2black4bet Coptic scholar Bentley Layton gives "a god" for the literal interlinear translation. The rendering as "a god" is justified by some non-trinitarians by comparing it with Acts 28:6 where they claim that the grammatical construction is the same.
We can sit here and quote scholars all day, but the FACT is; "Θεὸς" means a god.
@JabrilAbdullah The earliest translations of the Christian Greek Scriptures were into Syriac, Latin, and Coptic. Syriac and Latin, like the Greek of those days, do not have an indefinite article. Coptic translations do however. "'The Word was God...And the Word became flesh,' simply means "The word was divine...And the Word became human.' This was intended to conserve both of these truths against theories that failed to present Jesus as truly God and man"-James Moffat
@2black4bet "Hence, the Coptic translation supplies interesting evidence as to how John 1:1 would have been understood back then. What do we find? The Sahidic Coptic translation uses an indefinite article with the word “god” in the final part of John 1:1. Thus, when rendered into modern English, the translation reads: “And the Word was a god.”
Like I said, we can quote all day but the FACT is; whoever wrote John made sure there was a difference; "τὸν Θεόν" - THE God, "Θεὸς" - A god.
@JabrilAbdullah Donald Guthrie: "The absence of the article with Theos has misled some into thinking that the correct understanding of the statement would be that 'the word was a God' (or divine), but this is grammatically indefensible since Theos is a predicate." New Testament Theology (InterVarsity Press, 1981), p. 327. If you take the one translation out of many that say "a god" seriously would imply that John was a polytheist and we know that is not true in context with rest of his writings
@2black4bet No, if I take the translation as saying "a god", it will be being consistent considering Acts 28:6 has the SAME grammatical construction. The notion of a "trinity" is polytheism in itself, so whoever wrote John could have very well been a polytheist even though Jesus(p) said that he was a messenger and ALLAH(s.w.t) is the only true God. But, I think you missed the point of the atheist's video. He doesn't believe in the Holy Qur'an. He's just giving Christians some of their own meds.
@JabrilAbdullah actually the notion of the trinity has nothing to do with polytheism. Jesus was more than a messenger read the scriptures. "Before Abraham I AM" Muhammad is dead Jesus always existed and is alive forevermore Understand that John was not like the rest of the gospels his writing style is distinctive he uses a lot of metaphors he was not a polytheist therefore it is unreasonable to assume he was saying "a god" read the rest of the chapter context context context 1 God in 3 persons
@2black4bet The trinity is polytheism. Many pagans worshiped trinites. Jesus(p) was just a messenger. "And this is salvation; that they may know you, ALLAH(s.w.t), and Jesus Christ(p) your messenger". The Holy Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) is dead, but Al-Qur'an lives. Jesus(p) was born in a stable to a jewess. Of course "john" or whoever wrote it, was not like the rest of the gospels. His came like a 100yrs later. Also, NO where in John does it say "1 god in 3 persons". This is just later conjecture.
@JabrilAbdullah your understanding of the trinity is warped When Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit and the Father he is not saying these are independent gods but in essence the same God of Abraham Issac and Jacob. "I and the Father are one" This is why you should have read the rest of John before you assume he was a polytheist and he meant to say "a god" READ "he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." Who can only do what God does? lol GOD
@2black4bet There's no special understanding needed. "Shema Yisrael Adonai Elohineu Adonai EHAD". "Ehad" means ONE and ONLY ONE. That's why you never see the Jews worshiping more than one God. "The Father is GREATER than I" "The Father is GREATER than ALL". Clearly Jesus(pbuh) worshiped one God and called the jews to do the same. I read all of John. And I read what your scholars had to say about it. Who is greater than GOD? NO one. That's why Jesus(p) said GOD is GREATER than him.
@JabrilAbdullah when Jesus says the father is "greater than I" He is not speaking ontologically but instead functionally. Jesus was God made flesh therefore while on earth limited in his earthly body but still fully God.Isaiah 44:8 God says that even He does not know of any other gods The Bible, in fact, teaches both that Jesus was God and that, as the Son of God and especially as a man Jesus submitted Himself voluntarily to the Father and seeks to bring glory and honor to the Father.
@2black4bet That still doesn't make sense. Who "functions" grater than God? Jesus(p) meant exactly what he said. "GOD is GREATER than I", "GOD is GREATER than ALL", "The sender is always greater than the one being sent, thus the One who sent me is GREATER". GOD was never flesh and will never be flesh. "GOD never changes". Jesus(p) was not a god. Jesus(p) said, "And this is salvation, that they may know you, ALLAH(s.w.t), and Jesus Christ your messenger".
@JabrilAbdullah as even a child can see the blind man was not saying "Before Abraham I AM" or claiming to exist before Abraham being only 30 years old as Jesus did. He was simply answering the question when the crowed had they asked are you the one Jesus healed he answered "I am he" According to the Koran, "No true prophet of God can lie." If that’s true, since they believe that Jesus is a prophet or a messenger of God, then Jesus told the truth about being the only way to God in John 14:6
@2black4bet Of course, no prophet of GOD can lie. But, many people can lie on the prophets. As the bible has done with Jesus(p), David(p), Solomon(p), and many more of the Noble Prophets(may the peace and blessings of ALLAH(s.w.t) be upon them all).
John 14:6 doesn't really mean much. In the time of Abraham(p), Abraham(p) was the only way to GOD. In the time of Moses(p), Moses(p) was the only way to GOD. And in the time of Muhammad(s.a.w), Muhammad(s.a.w) is the only way to GOD.
@JabrilAbdullah"But, many people can lie on the prophets." the time span between when the gospels were written and the date of the first manuscript is an amazing 60 years leaves no time for corruption or tampering on a major scale. "John 14:6 really doesn't mean much"?HUH Muhammad died not knowing if he would ever reach heaven Jesus died not only knowing he would reach heaven but says I will be seated on the right hand of the father and secondly I go to prepare a place for YOU AND ME(Jn 14:4)
@2black4bet But, amazingly christiandom is constantly revising and editing their bibles. You don't even have the original manuscripts. Just copies of copies of copies. And who's to say the gospels that the early church fathers didn't add to the canon were truly "apocryphal"? On what basis did they chose the gospels for the canon? Muhammad Nabi(s.a.w) was told that he would be the FIRST to enter Paradise. He was being humble as everyone should be and not arrogant.
@JabrilAbdullah The Son is eternally God yesterday today and forever and remains so. In the incarnation, He chose to lower Himself adding human nature in which He was obedient to the Father while simultaneously ruling the universe. Being the way He was showing us the way He was exalted to the right hand of the Father.Whether or not He is eternally submissive is a debate within orthodoxy. We cant comprehend this truth in our finite minds but we can apprehend this spiritual truth from scripture.
@2black4bet GOD does not have any sons, or daughters, or a mother, or a father, or any equals, or any partners, or any competitors, or any contenders. GOD is alone and indivisible. It's completely ludicrous to say a Palestinian jew could from the middle east could rule the universe. Jesus(p) was dependent, ate, slept, and had calls of natures. These are not the qualities of GOD. Jesus(p) was submissive to ALLAH(s.w.t) just as every Muslims is.
@JabrilAbdullah Jesus is not a co partner or junior partner or competitor with God Allah however is. There can only be one God. Allah the God of the Koran is not the same God of the bible even though Muslim apologists would have you to believe he is. The Koran proves Jesus is the Messiah and Muhammad did not replace him as final prophet.ONLY because of Jesus Muslims and all others can talk to God anytime from anywhere. Few people and no Muslims are aware of this historical fact.
@2black4bet Jesus(p) is a slave of ALLAH(s.w.t). ALLAH(s.w.t) has no competitors. Your bible is filled with contradictions. Al-Qur'an is flawless and perfect. ALLAH(s.w.t) gave his slaves revelations which a FRACTION of it is still within your scriptures. So ALLAH(s.w.t) does reign over the true Torah, true Gospel, and Qur'an. What you add to the revelation, me and you will differ. And what are you talking about? All Muslims know Jesus(p) is Messiah and Muhammad(s.a.w) is the final prophet.
@JabrilAbdullah Jesus would be righteous [sinless] all his life (3: 46; 6: 86; 19: 19*) DO you read even your own book? The bible and the Koran says He lived a sinless life He didnt even think an evil thought who is the only one who is without sin? GOD The bible says or God says or He or rather Jesus says He and the Father are one. Who is the only one who is one with GOD? GOD The bible or God or Jesus says I ONLY do what my Father does in heaven Who can only do what GOD does? you know the answer
@2black4bet In my last reply I said, "ALL prophets are sinless". INCLUDING Jesus(p). This straw man argument is useless. Jesus(p) also said that the disciples will be one with GOD. Did he mean worship 15 gods in 1 god? NO! He meant one in PURPOSE. Jesus(p) also said, "And this is salvation; that they may know you, ALLAH(swt), and Jesus Christ your messenger", "ALLAH(swt) is GREATER than ALL", "I can of my own-self do NOTHING", "I seek not my will, but the will of the One who SENT me".
@JabrilAbdullah "No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known." Read the rest of the chapter thats what we call "near context" Henry Alford: "Theos must then be taken as implying God, in substance and essence,--not ho theos, 'the Father,' in person. It would be asinine to assume John began his thesis with saying Jesus was "a god" but then in the following 21 chapters proceeds to prove he is God
@2black4bet No one has ever seen God, eh? "I, Jacob, had seen God face to face"(Gen.32:30) So who is lying? Jacob(p) or John?
Origen of Alexandria, who was a teacher in Greek grammar in the third century , wrote about the use of the definite article here:
"He(John) uses the article, when the name of God refers to the uncreated cause of all things, and omits it when the Logos is named God.... The true God, then, is The God (ho theos)."
@JabrilAbdullah God doesn't have a "face" He is Spirit. The bible is Hebrew literature and should be read as such. his encounter was NOT with God the Father but rather with either Jesus or an angelic messenger The bible does not contradict itself if there is a "contradiction" its usually in our way of understanding things. Jacob assumed he was God but the being he wrestled with did not identify himself as God. The Holy Spirit will teach you all truth not your or even Jacobs assumptions
@2black4bet I know Hebrew better than most christians. And Jews interpret that as Jacob(p) actually seeing GOD face to face. They also believe 70 high priest saw Him face to face. And they believe Moses(p) saw Him. And they believe Abraham(p) saw him face to face. They didn't see Jesus(p) because he wasn't even born yet. There plenty of contradictions. Like the moon having it's own light. So, Gen.32:30 is a lie then? Your 3rd god doesn't exist. Origen proved that the true God is THE GOD.
@JabrilAbdullah we dont care how jews interpret scripture neither did Jesus read the bible numerous times Christ twisted and baffled the Pharisee with their own law. How could a 30 yr old confound the Jewish scholars? He was the first born of creation thats how "before Abraham I AM" what do you think that means? "Have ye not read the scriptures?"The speaker in Exodus is God who was made flesh as Yashua Hallelujah "he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.(Exodus 33)
@2black4bet Well, regardless how they interpret it, Gen.32:30 says that Jacob saw God face to face. Jesus(p) was a messenger. Of course he had more knowledge than the scholars and learned men of that time. The blind man also said "I am". Are you now going to take him for a god? But in that SAME Exodus; "The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.","the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel"
@JabrilAbdullah the "blind man said I AM" man you love to take scripture out of context Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?” 9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.” 10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” 11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went..(John 9)
@2black4bet But he said "I am". I said "I am". You said "I am". Will christians take us for gods now? Saying "I am" doesn't mean you claim to be GOD. Saying, "I am GOD" or "Worship me" or "I am your Creator", now that's claiming to be divine. And Jesus(p) never said any of those things. Instead he said "I can of my own self do NOTHING", "I seek NOT my will, but the will of the One who sent me". Obviously Jesus(p) called to worship none but The One and Only True God.
@JabrilAbdullah you extract a part of the verse he said 'before Abraham I AM" meaning He existed before Abraham was born How can this be? Do you believe in reincarnation? I hope not well then if not how does the nation of Islam explain this verse? was the prophet of God lying? lol laughable come to Christ he is the only way Jesus is either a lying prophet whom the Koran commands you to follow or God. Which one? your taking John 5 out of context Jesus is showing us the way to God obedience!
@2black4bet Just GOD said to Jeremiah, "before you were formed in your mother's womb, I knew you and ordained you a prophet". Jesus(p) existed in the knowledge of GOD before Abraham(p), thus whatever message he brought, it was from GOD and could not be contested. And I don't care how the nation of Islam explains it. I'm Sunni Muslim. Al-Qur'an has already brought Christ(p) and the rest of the Nobel Prophets to me. And Jesus(p) was obedient to GOD. That's why he never ascribed any partners to GOD
@JabrilAbdullah show me anywhere in scripture where it says Jesus was formed or created as Jeremiah or we are created You comparing 2 different ideas "The polytheists had two choices, submit or die. The Christians and the Jews had a third alternative, paying heavy tribute" (Qur’an 9:5, 29). if the Koran indeed has a supernatural origin I would like to know who or that was you are aware of the fact that Satan is supernatural as well and can transform himself into light (2 Cor 11:14) REPENT NOW
@2black4bet "Indeed, the example of Jesus in the sight of Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was." What are you trying to prove with Qur'an 9:5? If Muslims are being attacked by the Kuffar, then ALLAH(swt) has given us permission to fight and kill them. But if they stop attacking, then we must stop. Satan is not supernatural. Christians give him way too much credit. I repent to ALLAH(swt) many times a day. I don't need anyone to die for me.
@JabrilAbdullah Satan is not supernatural? what is he then the white man? we give him no credit he is defeated. The only thing we give him credit for is lying. Jesus calls him the father of lies. I asked for a scripture in the bible that says Jesus was a created being you gave me a quote from the Koran a book of lies. J.C. was sinless Adam was not. Jesus is a Spirit proceeding from God and his very own Word, whereas Adam was given life by God. Allah lied to you Jesus is not like Adam at all
@2black4bet Who said he was the white man? Don't confuse Nation of Islam theology with Sunni Islam. Satan is just a creation of ALLAH(s.w.t). He wasn't an angle as Christians say he was. Your own corrupted bible says Jesus(p) was a man. Men are created. Qur'an is the perfect truth with no errors. Your flawed bible is filled with errors. Qur'an is superior. All prophets are sinless. ALLAH(s.w.t) is perfect truth. That's why Jesus(p) fell on his face and prayed to him like all Muslims do.
@JabrilAbdullah The bible says Satan is a created being like everything we see in the natural this is what separates Christ from the rest of creation Do you read the bible or is it prohibited by ALLAH to read truth the bible say Jesus was 100% God and 100% man the Godman simply put. This was the only way we could be reconciled to a Holy God was through himself made flesh not Muhammad. Jesus did the Messiah's work (opening heaven) 550 years before Islam's Prophet was born.
@2black4bet I am not commanded to either read or not to read the bible. However, ALLAH(swt) said in Al-Qur'an;*"And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is [merely] their wishful thinking, Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."* So, following that order I see that the Christians has produced their "proof", which is the bible. So, I read the bible and see that it's inaccurate. This "godman" theory is what pagans do.
@JabrilAbdullah John 14:6 "I am the way the truth and the life NO man comes to the Father accept through me" that's enough proof for me Im a Christian which translated in the Greek literally means follower of Christ You can accept Christ as your Lord and personal savior and still pray to Mecca if you wish but after you come to Christ he will slowly tear down the bondage of legalism you have been afflicted with and you will be able to read the bible He came to set the captives free my friend
@2black4bet Even though sayings of Prophet Jesus(p) in John are very doubtful, which your own scholars agree, I can accept John 14:6. Jesus(p) being the only messenger at that time to the Jews, he WAS the only way. Just like Moses(p) WAS the only way in his time. And David(p) WAS the only way in his time. And Muhammad Nabi(s.a.w) IS the only way in this time. Jesus(p) actually came to uphold the law/"legalism". "Think NOT that I have come to destroy the law".
@JabrilAbdullah the moon having its own light? lets start with that one wow where does it say that in the bible what are you reading the watchtower bible?no errors in the bible or contradictions the gospels complement each other not contradict the the DOB of Christ is NOT given to us in the bible and both stories are not describing his birth at all Jesus came not destroy the law but to fulfill the law ..."that you may be sons of your Father in heaven." not legalistic self righteous tyrants
@2black4bet Does it matter which bible I'm reading? Bible is the word of God, right? Or do you KJV-ers have a monopoly on bibles? lol. Gen.1:16-"God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day(sun) and the lesser light to govern the night(moon)." Actually, God made ONE light in our system and the moon REFLECTS that light. Matthews says Jesus(p) DOB was 2yrs before Herod died, which places it at 6BC. Luke says 6CE. That's a 12yr difference. & How do you fulFILL by taking out/away?
@JabrilAbdullah We have more copies of the bible with older manuscripts than the KJV has. Matthew does not say when JC was born. Ive already went into extensive details about this miss interpretation of scripture on another YTpost "Quirinius where art thou?" Luke says Jesus was born UNDER the census of Quirinius not during the census that could place his birth anywhere from 7-2 BC/BCE. I was born under the census of 1990 that doesn't necessarily mean I was born in 1990
@2black4bet You also have older manuscripts that doesn't have Jesus(p) as a "begotten" son, that don't have the verse on the trinity, and that don't have the ascension. But surprisingly, you still believe that. Also, Luke says, "Joseph went there to REGISTER with Mary, who.. was expecting a child. While they were THERE, the time came for the baby to be born, and she GAVE BIRTH to her firstborn, a son." So in your analogy it WOULD actually be the YEAR of 1990. So again, "Luke says 6CE".
@JabrilAbdullah only one verse on the trinity? "Have ye not read the scriptures?" Jesus countless times refers to himself as the Son of God and refers to God in heaven as the "Father" and refers to the comforter as the "Holy Spirit" Luke does not say a date show me that in scripture. Ive already went into extensive details about the birth of Christ on another YT site the birth of Christ still remains unverifiable based on the few clues we have from scripture and extra biblical sources
@2black4bet Yes, one. "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the father, the son, the holy spirit. And these three are one". That false teaching/verse has now been expunged from the bible(except the hard-headed KJV). No where else the the trinity taught as it was here. Luke does give the time of his birth. It says he was born while Quirinius was governor off Syria(6 CE). And you'll have to bring your "extensive details" here.
@JabrilAbdullah "IN THOSE DAYS Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.(This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria) everyone went to their own town to register. Parenthesis in scripture means this part was ADDED by scribes for clarity however note the brackets [a] it is there because the original Greek translated the v 2 "This census took place before..."Hermeneutics 101there is an art to reading this book
@2black4bet Well, at least you admit that scribed ADDED things to your bible. Secondly, you claim that it should be translated as "before" rather than "while"(even though that's not the case in your KJV), however, the Greek word there, "protos", has NEVER been translated as "before" in Luke's gospel. Also, there was NO Roman census in Judea prior to 6 CE.
There's no art. You just have to read it without trying to correct the contradictions with mental masturbation.
@JabrilAbdullah Again the KJV is not the autograph in which all other transliterations are based. When the KJ was written the scholars were only working with 6 or 7 manuscripts as opposed to the thousands of copies we have today.Through the art and science of textual criticism we are able to get back to the mother copy. There are two many assumptions made about the Roman census that cannot be verified such as there was NO census in Judea prior to 6CE. Therefore the DOB of JC remains unverifiable
@2black4bet I'm only pointing out KJV because the vast majority of christians only use it, and it's full of inaccuracies. The "thousands of copies" is also a problem. Because not a single pair of them are identical. You have to piece manuscripts together and hope they match up. There aren't any assumptions. It's an established FACT that there weren't any Roman census in Judea prior to 6CE, because it wasn't annexed to Rome until then. The DOB of Jesus(p) in the gospels contradict each other.
@JabrilAbdullah Caesar Augustus was famous for his census taking so much so that credible historians do not even debate this issue. Josephus refers to a worldwide Roman taxation of a.d. 6. There are too many "ifs" as I previously mentioned to pinpoint the exact DOB get over it. In 1912 the discovery by W. M. Ramsey of a fragmentary inscription at Antioch of Pisidia arguably established Quirinius was in Syria on a previous occasion as a military leader.
@2black4bet I'm NOT denying that census were taken in Rome. I'm just telling you the FACT that there was no Roman census in JUDEA prior to 6CE, because Judea wasn't even annexed to Rome until 6CE. The whole bible is a big "if". That's not my problem. You get over the fact that Mtw and Luke have 12yr contradiction regarding the DOB of Jesus(p).
@JabrilAbdullah The vast amount of copies of the bible actually favors its authenticity. The more copies the less likely someone intent on making significant changes can do so without detection. Because of the destruction of all deviant copies no one can know with any certainty if the present Quran is exactly the same as what Muhammad gave them. Since Muhammad dies before it was collated. the Shi’ites claim that the Uthman eliminated passages related to the succession of leadership.
@2black4bet But NO two of those copies are identical. So you STILL don't have the original. Any changes done to the bible, would disqualify it being the word of God. Scholars from all faiths have conceded that Al-Qur'an today is exactly what Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) gave us. The al-qurra Companions of Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) were approved by the Prophet(s.a.w). And those very same ones were the ones who recited it for Uthman. Only some shi'ites believe that, and are transgressors.
@JabrilAbdullah approved by the prophets what prophets? The scriptures were approved by God himself and God is not a man that He should lie. God cannot lie. Muhammad was never prophesied in the bible But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." Jesus said that the "Comforter" is "the Holy Spirit." not Muhhammed your being lied to.
@2black4bet I said "the Prophet". Not "prophet's'". ALLAH(s.w.t) reveled Al-Qur'an to Muhammad(s.a.w) and Muhammad(s.a.w) made sure his al-qurra(memorizers) memorized Al-Qur'an from beginning to end. Which over a BILLION Muslims today have memorized the entire Qur'an. Which is another miracle of Qur'an, because ALLAH(w.t) said He(w.t) will make it EASY for remembrance. The Spirit of Truth is Muhammad(s.a.w). And he has led us into ALL truth. The holy spirit doesnt even know the DOB of Jesus(p).
@JabrilAbdullah Thats why it was placed in parenthesis we also have learned through textual criticism that the entire last portion of Marks gospel was added by scribes. Living in the 21st C we fail to realize that a census back then could have taken 40 yrs to complete so whether "protos" is translated before or while is irrelevant. Jewish historian Josephus refers to a Roman taxation in AD 6 and considering the scope of the taxation it’s logical to assume that it took a long time to complete.
@2black4bet My point is, "parenthesis" in the word of God? That's at least one of the reasons why your bible isn't the word of God. And where are you getting your statistics? It wouldn't and didn't take 40yrs to complete a census. Most census were done every 5-9yrs. But, REGARDLESS, of how long it took, Luke makes it clear that it was done at the beginning of the census.
@JabrilAbdullah Ok lets say it took 10 years then the census would finally come in under Quirinius’ administration again there are a lot of holes in the story because of the lack of clues we have. But based on the clues we do have we can come to a consensus that Jesus was born, he died for our sins, and he rose again. That is the"good news"or the essentials of the faith. Minor inferences into the text are just that. We read it for what it says skeptics read into the text for what it doesn't say
@2black4bet I don't think you understand what I'm saying. It does NOT take more than a year to take a census. The shortest time between two census was 2yrs. Don't try and veer off subject. If it wasn't for the canon, you wouldn't have even reached that consensus. I'm showing you the contradictions in your bible. Which isn't from God. So, teachings like the death of Jesus(p), deity of a man, sacrifice, and so on are NOT from God. Those are man-made false doctrines, which should be rejected.
@JabrilAbdullah u know how long it took to make a census 2000 yrs ago? Luke and Mtw do NOT even try to pinpoint the DOB of Christ so why is the skeptic trying to make the bible say something it was not intended to say?You cant make Luke and Mtw both tell a story they were not intended to tell and then say they contradict because they don't satisfy your bias assumption. then consequently say the bible is not the word of God. Just read the text for what it says. "believe in God believe also in me"
@2black4bet Couldn't have taken more than a year if the shortest distance between two census was 2yrs. How can you say they didn't, when CLEARLY they did. Mtw says Jesus(p) DOB was 2yrs before Herod died, which places it at 6BC. Luke says he was born during the first census while Quirinius was governor off Syria, which was 6CE. These are ESTABLISHED facts, which your own scholars adhere to. I'm not going to believe contradictions and lies about Prophet Jesus(p), which is what your bible tells.
@JabrilAbdullah there could not have been multiple census simultaneously? How do you know this is true? Your also assuming Quirinius could not have been a high ranking official and could not have conducted a census for Rome. Again you can assume all you want the fact remains we dont know exactly when Jesus was born this debate has already been finished years ago that is why when you Google DOB of Christ Wikipedia for instance will say Jesus was born either before 4 BC or in 6 AD
@2black4bet The two census I'm referring to are different census. What are you talking about? I said Quirinius became governor of Syria in 6CE and conducted a census of JUDEA. Which your scholars agree. Right, but the ONLY reason why we don't have a specific date is because of the CONTRADICTIONS of the bible. One gospel says AT LEAST 6BC and the other says AT LEAST 6CE. Regardless, it's a 12yr CONTRADICTION. Since christians claim their 3rd god inspired the bible, it should have only ONE date.

Common sense would tell one that the entire cannon including Revelation had to be complete before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD. Its inconceivable that bible Jewish contemporaries would not mention such a catastrophic event in any of their writings

@TheEagleTeeth *facepalm* Beauty doesn't come from God. Beauty comes from the world. We are a part of that world, God is not. He is a part of our immaginary world. All your feelings are natural. People think like they do because of the "chemicals" in their brains like you said, thats kinda weird if you think about it, but it is tue and we all should see the beauty of our human body, nature and other things that we see. I'm not the best to explain this because I'm not a scientist.

But Christianity is about christ the redeemer and those around you
TheEagleTeeth 5 months ago
@TheEagleTeeth ... (sigh) That in no way answers my question. I'm asking what proof there is that just because things exist Yahweh created them. My warning about the Bible still stands.
Christianity has just as many ridiculous stories as the other religions I named. All of man descended from 2 people only 6,000 years ago? Walking on water? 900+ year-old men? A pair of every animal on Earth living on an ark for a year (Btw this means animals from undiscovered parts of the world)? Think about it.

@2black4bet "Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world…” "
He also said "The kingdom of heaven is within". Like most religious non-sense, it contradicts itself, then demands "believe or be punished!"
"because he was 100% non-political." Bull. He had plenty to say about the leaders in his day, as does the rest of the babble.

@2black4bet if you read the koran it's an entirely different story, and if they are the same god then why do they have such different views on things? I'm sure you don't consider rape a crime for the girl and then stone her...at least i hope not.
kpgpwi64 7 months ago
@kpgpwi64 there is only 1 God! words are equivocal meaning they can have different meaning. ask a Mormon who Christ is they will tell you something intirely different from what the historic Christian faith.the spirit brother of satan concieved in heaven as a result as the father having sex with mary? huh? So its what you put into the word that gives it its meaning not the word alone. Joseph Smith says god was once as we are now (man) "As God is man can become as God was man is" not the same God
2black4bet 7 months ago
@2black4bet so are you agreeing with me?
kpgpwi64 7 months ago
@kpgpwi64 u have to ask yourself the mother of all questions the question Jesus asked his disciples and thus asking us as well "WHO DO YOU SAY I AM" Muslims dont say Christ was the same being as Christians Allah does not belong to Islam as I previously stated. Muslims dogmatically denounce the Christian declaration of Christ’s unique deity as the unforgivable sin of shirk. Therefore they could not possible believe as scripture dictates that Jesus is Lord. Therefore Allah in Islam is a false god
2black4bet 7 months ago
@2black4bet ok, in their religion, your god is a false god, in atheism, every god is a false god because they are all imaginary.
kpgpwi64 7 months ago
hate to quote a secular arttist but there is an old saying even a broken clock is right 2x a day" how can He(God)give you free will without giving you evil" God wants us to choose him of our own free will. now we are in no way on the same level as God but in his being there are some aspects of humanity in the way he relates to his creation. if you found a woman to marry you would prefer she came to you of her own free will instead of being forced or even convinced "we live by faith not by sight"
2black4bet 7 months ago
@2black4bet then why are you "forcing" people away from other religions to yours? and what if you and I are both wrong and zeus is the real god, now who will he understand better? the guy that chose not to believe in any god due to lack of evidence? or the guy that not only denied his existence, but worshipped a false idol and tried to steer people away from the idea of zeus?
kpgpwi64 7 months ago
@kpgpwi64 God doesn't force anyone to trust n believe in Him neither do I. If so he would have made us all programed robots to follow Him his way Christ Jesus. But he gave us free will to believe in Him his way or believe in some other god your own way. He has a place prepared for you. He wouldnt torture you by giving you eternity with Him when you want Allah or your money or you women or Buddah No he is a just God " I am the way the truth and the life NO man comes to the Father accept by me"
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet why would he give us free will if he planned your entire life?
kpgpwi64 6 months ago
@kpgpwi64 "How could He give us free will without giving us evil?"-jay z hate to quote a secular artist but even a broken clock is right 2x a day. God has a plan for our lives but that doesn't mean we will choose his plan. God is not the author of evil. There is a debate among evangelicals on whether or not you even have a choice. I don't hold the Calvinist view however which suggest if you are elect you will believe if not you r doomed regardless of if you want to choose to believe
2black4bet 6 months ago
@kpgpwi64 God is not as we are subject to the confines of a 24hr solar day. He sits outside of time in what we call eternity past. He knew before He formed the world who would believe and follow and who would not believe. if I am not really saved then He knows im lying but I still am practicing my free will which He promised He would give man, to pretend im a Christian. Its very difficult for the finite to understand the infinite all we can do is apprehend these truths from scripture

@2black4bet
"there is only 1 God!"
Anon11674 6 months ago
@Anon11674 Highly varied classes of life?there is only one high class and thats the human class He is the deceiver he cannot deny the power of God so he does everything to mimic the power of God. The mere fact that there are false gods eludes to the truth that we all have a void which can only be filled by the power of the true and living God. In other words like a 14 yr old teenager in search of love in all the wrong places so are the false religions searching for God in all the wrong places
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet
Anon11674 6 months ago
@2black4bet
That all sounds interesting, but is there any rationale behind any of what you say? I haven't come across anything that makes your beliefs seem any more true than what the rest of the gods' believers say. And others say your beliefs are false. How do I know they're not right, and your beliefs aren't the lies?
Anon11674 6 months ago
@Anon11674 The Christian faith is the only one that is rooted and grounded in history and evidence. Its not a blind faith as Mormonism or the Watchtower cult but a faith in evidence and history. Meaning whats found in the ground matches the events people and places in the scriptures. The people/laces r not made up fantasies The faith or supernatural aspects of Christianity of course cannot be verified in the natural but what separates the Christian faith from its counterparts is its historicity
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet
Anon11674 6 months ago
@Anon11674 Can you show me a religion or faith that tells events and people that can be verified in history? Philosophically speaking we know there can be only one God just like you can only have one father. The cars are not side by side but instead a world apart however they all across oceans believe there is a higher power whatever that may be. Everyone could not have been brainwashed into thinking there is a God somewhere if they had no way to globally communicate this belief.
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet
So you actually think no other religion tells of any known history? Nonsense, Google is your friend.
I wonder why you deny most of the gods, anyway. The Hebrews accepted their existence once.
"Philosophically speaking we know there can be only one God just like you can only have one father."
Yes, one individual has one father. But distinct individuals usually have different fathers. I don't think you thought that argument through.
Where did you get this stuff about brainwashing?
Anon11674 6 months ago
@Anon11674
Also, a note. Just because it contains some history, doesn't mean every word in your scriptures is true. The people who formed your religion's stories were living in the times. It would be absolutely barmy if there wasn't any history at all in religious scriptures.
Anon11674 6 months ago
@2black4bet

JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
find out what scholars have to say about the original translation of john 1:1 the watchtower organization translation of the bible is not authoritative and its doctrine is not the same as the historic Christian faith."predicate nouns preceding the verb cannot be regarded as indefinite or qualitative simply because they lack the article; it could be regarded as indefinite or qualitative only if this is demanded by the context and in the case of John 1:1c this is not so."-E.C. Colwell
2black4bet 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah Randolph O. Yeager: "Only sophomores in Greek grammar are going to translate 'and the Word was a God.' The article with logos, shows that logos is the subject of the verb en and the fact that theos is without the article designates it as the predicate nominative. The emphatic position of theos demands that we translate 'and the Word was God.' John is not saying as Jehovah's Witnesses are fond of teaching that Jesus was only one of many Gods. He is saying precisely the opposite"
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Coptic scholar Bentley Layton gives "a god" for the literal interlinear translation. The rendering as "a god" is justified by some non-trinitarians by comparing it with Acts 28:6 where they claim that the grammatical construction is the same.
We can sit here and quote scholars all day, but the FACT is; "Θεὸς" means a god.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah The earliest translations of the Christian Greek Scriptures were into Syriac, Latin, and Coptic. Syriac and Latin, like the Greek of those days, do not have an indefinite article. Coptic translations do however. "'The Word was God...And the Word became flesh,' simply means "The word was divine...And the Word became human.' This was intended to conserve both of these truths against theories that failed to present Jesus as truly God and man"-James Moffat
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet "Hence, the Coptic translation supplies interesting evidence as to how John 1:1 would have been understood back then. What do we find? The Sahidic Coptic translation uses an indefinite article with the word “god” in the final part of John 1:1. Thus, when rendered into modern English, the translation reads: “And the Word was a god.”
Like I said, we can quote all day but the FACT is; whoever wrote John made sure there was a difference; "τὸν Θεόν" - THE God, "Θεὸς" - A god.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah Donald Guthrie: "The absence of the article with Theos has misled some into thinking that the correct understanding of the statement would be that 'the word was a God' (or divine), but this is grammatically indefensible since Theos is a predicate." New Testament Theology (InterVarsity Press, 1981), p. 327. If you take the one translation out of many that say "a god" seriously would imply that John was a polytheist and we know that is not true in context with rest of his writings
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet No, if I take the translation as saying "a god", it will be being consistent considering Acts 28:6 has the SAME grammatical construction. The notion of a "trinity" is polytheism in itself, so whoever wrote John could have very well been a polytheist even though Jesus(p) said that he was a messenger and ALLAH(s.w.t) is the only true God. But, I think you missed the point of the atheist's video. He doesn't believe in the Holy Qur'an. He's just giving Christians some of their own meds.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah actually the notion of the trinity has nothing to do with polytheism. Jesus was more than a messenger read the scriptures. "Before Abraham I AM" Muhammad is dead Jesus always existed and is alive forevermore Understand that John was not like the rest of the gospels his writing style is distinctive he uses a lot of metaphors he was not a polytheist therefore it is unreasonable to assume he was saying "a god" read the rest of the chapter context context context 1 God in 3 persons
2black4bet 6 months ago
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah your understanding of the trinity is warped When Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit and the Father he is not saying these are independent gods but in essence the same God of Abraham Issac and Jacob. "I and the Father are one" This is why you should have read the rest of John before you assume he was a polytheist and he meant to say "a god" READ "he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." Who can only do what God does? lol GOD
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet There's no special understanding needed. "Shema Yisrael Adonai Elohineu Adonai EHAD". "Ehad" means ONE and ONLY ONE. That's why you never see the Jews worshiping more than one God. "The Father is GREATER than I" "The Father is GREATER than ALL". Clearly Jesus(pbuh) worshiped one God and called the jews to do the same. I read all of John. And I read what your scholars had to say about it. Who is greater than GOD? NO one. That's why Jesus(p) said GOD is GREATER than him.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah when Jesus says the father is "greater than I" He is not speaking ontologically but instead functionally. Jesus was God made flesh therefore while on earth limited in his earthly body but still fully God.Isaiah 44:8 God says that even He does not know of any other gods The Bible, in fact, teaches both that Jesus was God and that, as the Son of God and especially as a man Jesus submitted Himself voluntarily to the Father and seeks to bring glory and honor to the Father.
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet That still doesn't make sense. Who "functions" grater than God? Jesus(p) meant exactly what he said. "GOD is GREATER than I", "GOD is GREATER than ALL", "The sender is always greater than the one being sent, thus the One who sent me is GREATER". GOD was never flesh and will never be flesh. "GOD never changes". Jesus(p) was not a god. Jesus(p) said, "And this is salvation, that they may know you, ALLAH(s.w.t), and Jesus Christ your messenger".
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah as even a child can see the blind man was not saying "Before Abraham I AM" or claiming to exist before Abraham being only 30 years old as Jesus did. He was simply answering the question when the crowed had they asked are you the one Jesus healed he answered "I am he" According to the Koran, "No true prophet of God can lie." If that’s true, since they believe that Jesus is a prophet or a messenger of God, then Jesus told the truth about being the only way to God in John 14:6
2black4bet 6 months ago
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah"But, many people can lie on the prophets." the time span between when the gospels were written and the date of the first manuscript is an amazing 60 years leaves no time for corruption or tampering on a major scale. "John 14:6 really doesn't mean much"?HUH Muhammad died not knowing if he would ever reach heaven Jesus died not only knowing he would reach heaven but says I will be seated on the right hand of the father and secondly I go to prepare a place for YOU AND ME(Jn 14:4)
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet But, amazingly christiandom is constantly revising and editing their bibles. You don't even have the original manuscripts. Just copies of copies of copies. And who's to say the gospels that the early church fathers didn't add to the canon were truly "apocryphal"? On what basis did they chose the gospels for the canon? Muhammad Nabi(s.a.w) was told that he would be the FIRST to enter Paradise. He was being humble as everyone should be and not arrogant.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah The Son is eternally God yesterday today and forever and remains so. In the incarnation, He chose to lower Himself adding human nature in which He was obedient to the Father while simultaneously ruling the universe. Being the way He was showing us the way He was exalted to the right hand of the Father.Whether or not He is eternally submissive is a debate within orthodoxy. We cant comprehend this truth in our finite minds but we can apprehend this spiritual truth from scripture.
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet GOD does not have any sons, or daughters, or a mother, or a father, or any equals, or any partners, or any competitors, or any contenders. GOD is alone and indivisible. It's completely ludicrous to say a Palestinian jew could from the middle east could rule the universe. Jesus(p) was dependent, ate, slept, and had calls of natures. These are not the qualities of GOD. Jesus(p) was submissive to ALLAH(s.w.t) just as every Muslims is.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah Jesus is not a co partner or junior partner or competitor with God Allah however is. There can only be one God. Allah the God of the Koran is not the same God of the bible even though Muslim apologists would have you to believe he is. The Koran proves Jesus is the Messiah and Muhammad did not replace him as final prophet.ONLY because of Jesus Muslims and all others can talk to God anytime from anywhere. Few people and no Muslims are aware of this historical fact.
2black4bet 6 months ago
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah Jesus would be righteous [sinless] all his life (3: 46; 6: 86; 19: 19*) DO you read even your own book? The bible and the Koran says He lived a sinless life He didnt even think an evil thought who is the only one who is without sin? GOD The bible says or God says or He or rather Jesus says He and the Father are one. Who is the only one who is one with GOD? GOD The bible or God or Jesus says I ONLY do what my Father does in heaven Who can only do what GOD does? you know the answer
2black4bet 6 months ago
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah "No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known." Read the rest of the chapter thats what we call "near context" Henry Alford: "Theos must then be taken as implying God, in substance and essence,--not ho theos, 'the Father,' in person. It would be asinine to assume John began his thesis with saying Jesus was "a god" but then in the following 21 chapters proceeds to prove he is God
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet No one has ever seen God, eh? "I, Jacob, had seen God face to face"(Gen.32:30) So who is lying? Jacob(p) or John?
Origen of Alexandria, who was a teacher in Greek grammar in the third century , wrote about the use of the definite article here:
"He(John) uses the article, when the name of God refers to the uncreated cause of all things, and omits it when the Logos is named God.... The true God, then, is The God (ho theos)."
So there you have it.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah God doesn't have a "face" He is Spirit. The bible is Hebrew literature and should be read as such. his encounter was NOT with God the Father but rather with either Jesus or an angelic messenger The bible does not contradict itself if there is a "contradiction" its usually in our way of understanding things. Jacob assumed he was God but the being he wrestled with did not identify himself as God. The Holy Spirit will teach you all truth not your or even Jacobs assumptions
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet I know Hebrew better than most christians. And Jews interpret that as Jacob(p) actually seeing GOD face to face. They also believe 70 high priest saw Him face to face. And they believe Moses(p) saw Him. And they believe Abraham(p) saw him face to face. They didn't see Jesus(p) because he wasn't even born yet. There plenty of contradictions. Like the moon having it's own light. So, Gen.32:30 is a lie then? Your 3rd god doesn't exist. Origen proved that the true God is THE GOD.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah we dont care how jews interpret scripture neither did Jesus read the bible numerous times Christ twisted and baffled the Pharisee with their own law. How could a 30 yr old confound the Jewish scholars? He was the first born of creation thats how "before Abraham I AM" what do you think that means? "Have ye not read the scriptures?"The speaker in Exodus is God who was made flesh as Yashua Hallelujah "he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.(Exodus 33)
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Well, regardless how they interpret it, Gen.32:30 says that Jacob saw God face to face. Jesus(p) was a messenger. Of course he had more knowledge than the scholars and learned men of that time. The blind man also said "I am". Are you now going to take him for a god? But in that SAME Exodus; "The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.","the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel"
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah the "blind man said I AM" man you love to take scripture out of context Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?” 9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.” 10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” 11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went..(John 9)
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet But he said "I am". I said "I am". You said "I am". Will christians take us for gods now? Saying "I am" doesn't mean you claim to be GOD. Saying, "I am GOD" or "Worship me" or "I am your Creator", now that's claiming to be divine. And Jesus(p) never said any of those things. Instead he said "I can of my own self do NOTHING", "I seek NOT my will, but the will of the One who sent me". Obviously Jesus(p) called to worship none but The One and Only True God.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah you extract a part of the verse he said 'before Abraham I AM" meaning He existed before Abraham was born How can this be? Do you believe in reincarnation? I hope not well then if not how does the nation of Islam explain this verse? was the prophet of God lying? lol laughable come to Christ he is the only way Jesus is either a lying prophet whom the Koran commands you to follow or God. Which one? your taking John 5 out of context Jesus is showing us the way to God obedience!
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Just GOD said to Jeremiah, "before you were formed in your mother's womb, I knew you and ordained you a prophet". Jesus(p) existed in the knowledge of GOD before Abraham(p), thus whatever message he brought, it was from GOD and could not be contested. And I don't care how the nation of Islam explains it. I'm Sunni Muslim. Al-Qur'an has already brought Christ(p) and the rest of the Nobel Prophets to me. And Jesus(p) was obedient to GOD. That's why he never ascribed any partners to GOD
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago

JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah Satan is not supernatural? what is he then the white man? we give him no credit he is defeated. The only thing we give him credit for is lying. Jesus calls him the father of lies. I asked for a scripture in the bible that says Jesus was a created being you gave me a quote from the Koran a book of lies. J.C. was sinless Adam was not. Jesus is a Spirit proceeding from God and his very own Word, whereas Adam was given life by God. Allah lied to you Jesus is not like Adam at all
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Who said he was the white man? Don't confuse Nation of Islam theology with Sunni Islam. Satan is just a creation of ALLAH(s.w.t). He wasn't an angle as Christians say he was. Your own corrupted bible says Jesus(p) was a man. Men are created. Qur'an is the perfect truth with no errors. Your flawed bible is filled with errors. Qur'an is superior. All prophets are sinless. ALLAH(s.w.t) is perfect truth. That's why Jesus(p) fell on his face and prayed to him like all Muslims do.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago

JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah John 14:6 "I am the way the truth and the life NO man comes to the Father accept through me" that's enough proof for me Im a Christian which translated in the Greek literally means follower of Christ You can accept Christ as your Lord and personal savior and still pray to Mecca if you wish but after you come to Christ he will slowly tear down the bondage of legalism you have been afflicted with and you will be able to read the bible He came to set the captives free my friend
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Even though sayings of Prophet Jesus(p) in John are very doubtful, which your own scholars agree, I can accept John 14:6. Jesus(p) being the only messenger at that time to the Jews, he WAS the only way. Just like Moses(p) WAS the only way in his time. And David(p) WAS the only way in his time. And Muhammad Nabi(s.a.w) IS the only way in this time. Jesus(p) actually came to uphold the law/"legalism". "Think NOT that I have come to destroy the law".
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah the moon having its own light? lets start with that one wow where does it say that in the bible what are you reading the watchtower bible?no errors in the bible or contradictions the gospels complement each other not contradict the the DOB of Christ is NOT given to us in the bible and both stories are not describing his birth at all Jesus came not destroy the law but to fulfill the law ..."that you may be sons of your Father in heaven." not legalistic self righteous tyrants
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Does it matter which bible I'm reading? Bible is the word of God, right? Or do you KJV-ers have a monopoly on bibles? lol. Gen.1:16-"God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day(sun) and the lesser light to govern the night(moon)." Actually, God made ONE light in our system and the moon REFLECTS that light. Matthews says Jesus(p) DOB was 2yrs before Herod died, which places it at 6BC. Luke says 6CE. That's a 12yr difference. & How do you fulFILL by taking out/away?
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah We have more copies of the bible with older manuscripts than the KJV has. Matthew does not say when JC was born. Ive already went into extensive details about this miss interpretation of scripture on another YTpost "Quirinius where art thou?" Luke says Jesus was born UNDER the census of Quirinius not during the census that could place his birth anywhere from 7-2 BC/BCE. I was born under the census of 1990 that doesn't necessarily mean I was born in 1990
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet You also have older manuscripts that doesn't have Jesus(p) as a "begotten" son, that don't have the verse on the trinity, and that don't have the ascension. But surprisingly, you still believe that. Also, Luke says, "Joseph went there to REGISTER with Mary, who.. was expecting a child. While they were THERE, the time came for the baby to be born, and she GAVE BIRTH to her firstborn, a son." So in your analogy it WOULD actually be the YEAR of 1990. So again, "Luke says 6CE".
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah only one verse on the trinity? "Have ye not read the scriptures?" Jesus countless times refers to himself as the Son of God and refers to God in heaven as the "Father" and refers to the comforter as the "Holy Spirit" Luke does not say a date show me that in scripture. Ive already went into extensive details about the birth of Christ on another YT site the birth of Christ still remains unverifiable based on the few clues we have from scripture and extra biblical sources
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Yes, one. "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the father, the son, the holy spirit. And these three are one". That false teaching/verse has now been expunged from the bible(except the hard-headed KJV). No where else the the trinity taught as it was here. Luke does give the time of his birth. It says he was born while Quirinius was governor off Syria(6 CE). And you'll have to bring your "extensive details" here.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah "IN THOSE DAYS Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.(This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria) everyone went to their own town to register. Parenthesis in scripture means this part was ADDED by scribes for clarity however note the brackets [a] it is there because the original Greek translated the v 2 "This census took place before..."Hermeneutics 101there is an art to reading this book
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Well, at least you admit that scribed ADDED things to your bible. Secondly, you claim that it should be translated as "before" rather than "while"(even though that's not the case in your KJV), however, the Greek word there, "protos", has NEVER been translated as "before" in Luke's gospel. Also, there was NO Roman census in Judea prior to 6 CE.
There's no art. You just have to read it without trying to correct the contradictions with mental masturbation.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah Again the KJV is not the autograph in which all other transliterations are based. When the KJ was written the scholars were only working with 6 or 7 manuscripts as opposed to the thousands of copies we have today.Through the art and science of textual criticism we are able to get back to the mother copy. There are two many assumptions made about the Roman census that cannot be verified such as there was NO census in Judea prior to 6CE. Therefore the DOB of JC remains unverifiable
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet I'm only pointing out KJV because the vast majority of christians only use it, and it's full of inaccuracies. The "thousands of copies" is also a problem. Because not a single pair of them are identical. You have to piece manuscripts together and hope they match up. There aren't any assumptions. It's an established FACT that there weren't any Roman census in Judea prior to 6CE, because it wasn't annexed to Rome until then. The DOB of Jesus(p) in the gospels contradict each other.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago

JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah The vast amount of copies of the bible actually favors its authenticity. The more copies the less likely someone intent on making significant changes can do so without detection. Because of the destruction of all deviant copies no one can know with any certainty if the present Quran is exactly the same as what Muhammad gave them. Since Muhammad dies before it was collated. the Shi’ites claim that the Uthman eliminated passages related to the succession of leadership.
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet But NO two of those copies are identical. So you STILL don't have the original. Any changes done to the bible, would disqualify it being the word of God. Scholars from all faiths have conceded that Al-Qur'an today is exactly what Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) gave us. The al-qurra Companions of Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) were approved by the Prophet(s.a.w). And those very same ones were the ones who recited it for Uthman. Only some shi'ites believe that, and are transgressors.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago

JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah Thats why it was placed in parenthesis we also have learned through textual criticism that the entire last portion of Marks gospel was added by scribes. Living in the 21st C we fail to realize that a census back then could have taken 40 yrs to complete so whether "protos" is translated before or while is irrelevant. Jewish historian Josephus refers to a Roman taxation in AD 6 and considering the scope of the taxation it’s logical to assume that it took a long time to complete.
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet My point is, "parenthesis" in the word of God? That's at least one of the reasons why your bible isn't the word of God. And where are you getting your statistics? It wouldn't and didn't take 40yrs to complete a census. Most census were done every 5-9yrs. But, REGARDLESS, of how long it took, Luke makes it clear that it was done at the beginning of the census.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah Ok lets say it took 10 years then the census would finally come in under Quirinius’ administration again there are a lot of holes in the story because of the lack of clues we have. But based on the clues we do have we can come to a consensus that Jesus was born, he died for our sins, and he rose again. That is the"good news"or the essentials of the faith. Minor inferences into the text are just that. We read it for what it says skeptics read into the text for what it doesn't say
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet I don't think you understand what I'm saying. It does NOT take more than a year to take a census. The shortest time between two census was 2yrs. Don't try and veer off subject. If it wasn't for the canon, you wouldn't have even reached that consensus. I'm showing you the contradictions in your bible. Which isn't from God. So, teachings like the death of Jesus(p), deity of a man, sacrifice, and so on are NOT from God. Those are man-made false doctrines, which should be rejected.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah u know how long it took to make a census 2000 yrs ago? Luke and Mtw do NOT even try to pinpoint the DOB of Christ so why is the skeptic trying to make the bible say something it was not intended to say?You cant make Luke and Mtw both tell a story they were not intended to tell and then say they contradict because they don't satisfy your bias assumption. then consequently say the bible is not the word of God. Just read the text for what it says. "believe in God believe also in me"
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet Couldn't have taken more than a year if the shortest distance between two census was 2yrs. How can you say they didn't, when CLEARLY they did. Mtw says Jesus(p) DOB was 2yrs before Herod died, which places it at 6BC. Luke says he was born during the first census while Quirinius was governor off Syria, which was 6CE. These are ESTABLISHED facts, which your own scholars adhere to. I'm not going to believe contradictions and lies about Prophet Jesus(p), which is what your bible tells.
JabrilAbdullah 6 months ago
@JabrilAbdullah there could not have been multiple census simultaneously? How do you know this is true? Your also assuming Quirinius could not have been a high ranking official and could not have conducted a census for Rome. Again you can assume all you want the fact remains we dont know exactly when Jesus was born this debate has already been finished years ago that is why when you Google DOB of Christ Wikipedia for instance will say Jesus was born either before 4 BC or in 6 AD
2black4bet 6 months ago
@2black4bet The two census I'm referring to are different census. What are you talking about? I said Quirinius became governor of Syria in 6CE and conducted a census of JUDEA. Which your scholars agree. Right, but the ONLY reason why we don't have a specific date is because of the CONTRADICTIONS of the bible. One gospel says AT LEAST 6BC and the other says AT LEAST 6CE. Regardless, it's a 12yr CONTRADICTION. Since christians claim their 3rd god inspired the bible, it should have only ONE date.
