Yes, this makes so much sense. When I first learned about this series, I thought it was mainly going to revolve around the title character, until I started reading the 1st book and realized who the real narrator was. So, it's basically Kyon, Yuki, and Mikuru getting the most attention, sadly... Hey, no wonder the hatedom calls Haruhi a "Mary Sue"!

And just what was up with the animators "K-on!"ing her face in the second season?!

She's the main character insomuch as the fact that the plot is about appeasing HER, and the plot is BECAUSE of her.

I've got to agree with Jonny on this one. Haruhi acts more as the plot device/driving force of the show. While the show is ABOUT her, the main character is Kyon, since we're viewing events from Kyon's POV. Kyon also has more time on-screen than Haruhi. This includes scenes such as the Ryoko Battle, Camel Cricket Battle, and 75% of the movie.
