When reading all these comments, I realize most people tend to be okay with other people being gay etc. However there are still some people who are getting so upset about it; why is that? Why is it that every one thinks Scott is gay for having some gay friends? Why is it that it's not "gay" when girls do similar things?

My hypothesis is that the sort of social expectation that "straight men don't dance" (because dancing is this sort of body-expressing-your-feelings, seductive [read: 'effeminate'] activity) causes good music to be de-prioritized in straight clubs, because straight clubs virtually always cater to the male patrons. "Ladies nights" aside, everything's tailored to suit the needs/tastes of the 'hunting men,' who generally feel like 'performing' for someone else's gaze (by dancing) disempowers them.

Hmm that depends. Not all gay clubs play good music. If you come to San Francisco Bay Area you will even find some places in the Castro that play only the top pop crap. I'd guess that most of those suggesting he's gay are teenage boys (or not much older). It tends to be teenage boys & those insecure about their own sexuality who make such comments, in an attempt to prove that they're not gay (consciously or subconsciously). To people secure in themselves & their sexuality, it's neither a problem nor a surprise that gay people & straight people can be friends. Studies show that the more homophobic someone is, the more likely it is that they are gay themselves

I know lots of straight guys who are secure in their manhood that go to gay clubs to pick up women. It's easier, less competition and you'd be surprised at how many straight women hang out at gay clubs to get away from constantly being hit on by men in straight clubs (#1 complaint by women going out to a club). Btw 98% of the male bartenders and strippers that work at gay clubs are straight and they make more money in one night working in a gay club than a straight club.
