I remembe this trailer on the VHS tape for "101 Dalmatians Christmas."

the music in the very beginning, what is it? I've wanted to know forever.

i remember when i first saw this movie it was in the video store. i had kinda wanted to see it since i had started getting into miyazaki, but it didn't seem like my kinda movie. i got it, put it in, and i couldn't pull myself away! it was getting soo good, they were JUST ABOUT TO FIND LAPUTA when i had to go to band practice Dx perfect timing....

When I was a kid, I had a Lion King 2 VHS with this trailer on it. I watched this trailer over and over. I could recite it by heart.

I never actually got to see it until I was in High School, though.

Is it okay that I like the English version better? I saw it subbed at my friend's house and Pazu's original voice made me want to claw at my ears :(

@RockyGemsCarly Absolutely. No questions asked. Despite what anybody may say, you absolutely have every right to like the dub just as others have the right to like the sub. Anyone who tells you otherwise, well, are just not worth listening to.

I wasn't so fond of Pazu's Japanese VA myself; he wasn't terrible, he was just too, well, shrieky. James may be older but he's not so shrilly or as emotionless as his JAL counterpart.

So don't EVER feel afraid of preferring the dub. I do too. ;)

dud i was this trailer on the lion king 2 ....i wanted to see this movie so bad as a kid .......the trailer made it seem musch more cooler but after seeing it so many times i will NOT go near this movie for a while

As far as Dawson and Rogue are concerned, do I think they were perfect choices for their characters? No. But do they spoil the film? Absolutely not; there are so many other things about the dub that are phenomenal, and Miyazaki's world is imperishable dubbed. And besides I DON'T think James or Anna did bad jobs at all. I thought they were OK, but Hamill, Leachman, and the others were the real stars.

Disney's dub of LAPUTA has its occasional faults (sometimes chatty dialogue and mature leads), but it is not at all bad. In fact, despite that, it's quite good and a lot of fun, especially Dola and Muska's VAs. That and Joe Hisaishi's new score is marvelous. You want a bad dub of this movie? The ancient '80s dub by Streamline qualifies--the acting there is just lifeless and bad. Disney's dub is much better than that. Anyway, I haven't seen this old trailer in years. It's odd seeing it now.

@Johnlindsey289 I think it's actually worse than that, because while WARRIORS may have had (slightly) better vocal direction, Streamline's older dub sounds as though the direction was non-existant, like everyone involved just did their line in one take and left it at that. Disney's version had to do their lines in more than one take to get them just right.

I remember this trailer on my old kiki vhs :3 I only just got around to watching this movie with my bf. the part where the robot brings sheeta the flower, and when she says "you will NEVER possess the crystal" sparked my memory of this trailer.

crazy story here- searching for a movie in blockbuster and i came across the title, i had to find this trailer, not the dvd. i finally broke down and watched my old kiki movie the other day, but i got into it and watched the whole thing without thinking. haven't watched it since i was like 8 xD, still wanna see castle in the sky

OMG i was wondering the same thing! this is my favourite movie, but after seeing it for the first time i remembered a trailer i'd seen for it when i was a lot younger (this trailer) !!!
