  • Sari caresses each and every musical phrase. She represents bel canto in the truest sense. Thank you for this posting.

  • Aou should hear her Rosina. In my opinion, she was the best coloratura of all times, her agility, virtuosity...

  • The PURITY and SPONTANEITY and BRILLIANCE are all the earmarks of great singing which is unheard of on the operatic stage today.

  • @MrSkylark1

I do share this opinion; best greetings !

  • @jurek46pink It is good to know that there are others who agree You may be interested in reading THE TWILIGHT OF BEL CANTO by LEONARDO DI CIAMPA

  • Interesting variation on the coloratura treatment beginning around 2:30. What a delight! Many thanks for this vocal treasure, Jerzy.

  • Jurek, you have created a little sensation with your Rossetti image. I'm leaving tomorrow for London (and Paris) and when I see his paintings in the National Gallery I'll pay a special attention :) Au revoir.

  • Bon voyage, David !

    And many happy returns... in

    the memories !

  • Ada Sari has great ease in scaling, almost effortless and beautifully rounded phrasing. Glorious singing. TY Jurek.

  • Your opinion is of special value for me, P.

    Thanks.

    J.

  • This is special, great thing /1921 ? !/ !

What a label / 4:55/ ! R. Dante Gabriel - The Roseleaf... his " femme fatale" .. Beautiful! Thank you.

  • 1921 is for me still a question.

    Nonetheless, this finding - Sari's

recording made still without a micorphone ! - is for me and may

be for us all, when listenning,

a moment of "a higher feeling".

  • I am very, very , pleased !

  • Then - it is mutual; for the substantial

    reason here: the record !

    :))

  • What a great Lucia! Another unknown (at least to me, the non-expert :) ) but first-class soprano. And I like the Pre-Raphaelite illustration too.

  • Well... something should be done

with these artists "on this side" to prevent

them from total oblivion and obscurity...-

As for me - the less spoken of, the more

    interesting personality is.

And what a nice surprise when she/he

turns out to be - great.

    Thanks.

  • pre-Raphaelite? with an 1870 date?

  • Yes...

    perhaps including the term:

    "Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood"

    or "Dante Gabriel Rossetti"

into wikipedia - would be helpful.

  • ah - gotcha!

    thanks!

  • piękne

  • ...podzielam - z wdzięcznością.
