I don't recall the consistency - it was many years ago - but the flavor was awful. As I recall, it was very strong, and like pancake syrup, but not as tasty.
HELP. My grandpa remembers a commercial from this time period, with an animated boy like this in it. In it hes riding a horse, and says "EAT IT HORSE!" Could someone send me a link? Any help is appreciated.

I found it in my local grocery store (Mac's Market), but since Maypo originated in Vermont and that's where I live (well...did), I don't know if that's why I was able to find it. I found it in the same aisle as oatmeal and Cream of Wheat. You can also get it online. :)
@nahpoli My mother can't do anything. She died when I was seventeen. However, when she was alive, she was a good cook. In any event, one doesn't have to know how to cook to add hot water to a prepared mixture, which is what Maypo is.
I was 4 when I found out that advertising lied. I wanted Maypo soooo bad so my mom got some, I hated it! She made me eat Maypo until it was gone. I've not eatten that awful cereal since!!
