@neilapayne Linda is singing the dominant melody. Richard will occasionally sing the tonic notes as well, which will make it sound confusing, but he his primarily singing 3rd and 5th harmonies. So, while it is clearly written best as a duet, if you are to perform it alone, sing Linda's part.
I've seen an awful lot of bands live in the last 40 odd years but very few better than these 2 though they haven't preformed together for oover 30 odd years.
One other funny thing I've never seen a better guitarist live so I'm not realy sure where you are comming from. I was never really into putting album versions against live ones if they were the same why bother paying live ever.
Not sure what you are referring to. I did not mention his guitar playing, nor their ability to play live. I simply stated I prefer the song played in the same key as the recorded version. This is pretty much an exact copy of the record, the only difference being Linda's vocal drowns out Richard, and its in a different key.
I think I misunderstood your point I beg your pardon.
When I sent the mail I was actually listening Thompsons latest album it's live "Dream Attic" with an incredable guitarbreak in "If love whispres your name".
Ok, I've been a fan of RT forever, and I just discovered this...She is awesome..Her voice reminds me of Patsy Cline..Tkink about it before you laugh at my comment...Listen to this again...BTW Patsy is also one of my alltime favorites!
Perhaps the "wrong miking" has to do with which voice people would rather hear--it was often said then that Richard's voice was an "acquired taste." He's gotten to be very much better since then, and of course, many (including me) liked him well enough. But she had (and has) a phenomenal voice. I'm partly kidding here, about the miking and Richard's singing, but not about LInda's.
Beautiful.

People really do complain a lot rather than accept what an artist expresses. This is brilliant and perfect, no complaints here!!!

There is no dominent melody line sung by either. You try singing his/hers and you'll
find this is true. But I still cant get it to play past half way? Any suggestions anyone?

@neilapayne try using a different browser or PC. Or download it using the free software from DVDVideoSoft or play it at 240p

Love the video but would have been better if the song was in the right key. It isn't close to the album version.

The sound they had was wonderful. Really nothing better than pure vocal harmony with great acoustic accompaniment.

It sounds like they miked this wrong - that Linda's harmony part drowned out Richard's lead.
