  • salt and brown sugar. let them dry til they are good and sticky. Borax (boric acid) is an INSECTICIDE. Brown sugar is yummy! the salt allows frozen eggs to thaw fast in the refridge. Nice juicy intact eggs. look like fruit snacks... I'm tempted to eat myself :) Also, if you prefer borax (boric acid) it's at drug stores for about $5 for 6 oz. Mix 6 oz with 2 packets of raspberry jello to make a nice dying mix. Total cost for 8 total oz of cure $7.50

  • As a side note, it has been found that sulfite kills smolt when ingested from sulfite cured eggs and sulfites may soon be banned from cures. Borax is the approved method by DFW scientists.

  • I mix borax with my cure, coat/shake good, and let it dry for an hour or two. Good, stinky skein chunk that's not really goopy.

  • SO no borax? All you need is the cure? With that cure will they toughen up real nice? 5 stars but I am left with questions from years of bad teaching.
