  • They are just puppets, poor people

  • Fck communism. socialism is the truth way and light. mized economy

  • @Movementz1 Tht isnt communism or even socialism, get ur facts strait! Did u live in NK to, seems like it!

  • The if NK's think they know fireworks?! They should check out the fireworks in my country on The Fourth of July that our government is fucking in the ass!!

  • 0:27 Why did she react to the bananas, and not the giant octopus?

In the previous video, she says they only eat meat twice per year.

    ...

  • Self-interest is inherent to human nature. Capitalism best serves that nature. Socialism and communism seek to thwart that nature, and fail every time. Stop trying to thwart your nature, look after yourself, your family, and your friends, and you will find happiness and prosperity. This anti-capitalist sentiment is eerily reminiscient of the decades leading up to WW2, where people debated fascism and socialism. Move into the fucking 21st century already, you collectivist fucktards.

  • NK is the land of brainless people.

  • some people in america and other democratic countries hate freedom

and capitalism just because they are not as rich as their neighbors.

Especially those who embrace communist ideology. They want to

destroy free market and turn their countries into another N.Korea.

They think it could not be any worst. They are so mistaken.

There is a big difference between being not rich and starving to death.

even dictatorship regimes like Russia, China and Vietnam now embrace

    free market.

  • @not4dat wtf are you talking about? Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

"communist who want to turn their countries in n.korea" do you understand? you're not making whole lot of sense here.

now i'm starting to question do you even know what communism or capitalism means. because you're sounding like a 12yearold...

  • @Darusdei communism is not what most people think. it is soposed to liberate people from government control and to encourage everyone to share and earn the same, since everyone would earn the same everyone will have more in the long run. But I am no longer a communist because human greed causes it to fail.

  • @not4dat communism failed because human greed corrupted it. Everyone agrees that it works in theory ,in practice it gets take over during the weak period of the revolution and government formation .The revolution leader has full power and he becomes corrupted with power. one who even got close was Lenin. I am no longer a communist . But don't diss communists most aren't envious they just want equality. I am now a capitalist . The most socialist belief i have is universal healthcare.

  • Paxman sounds drunk.

  • @EthamJM - I'm not sure if they still do so, but Open NK Radio used to broadcast on shortwave frequencies (as well as FM) which doesn't require high power to go far. However in the DPRK all radios are prewired and locked to govt frequencies. Anyone caught with an altered radio or one smuggled in from the PRC is off to the gulag.

  • Do they think anyone else A "God" like Before Kim IL Sung? Before him?

  • Is that anchorman drunk?

  • they disguised that mans voice, but showed the number that was diled - BBC...

  • Would it be possible to make a super radio transmitter so more of the country can get the message about the outside world?

  • She's got a mad lisp... woohoo!

  • We shouldn't be talking about killing the leaders and chopping up their children and stupid shit like that ppl... Rather, the West should be standing ready to offer a helping hand to those who choose to defect and escape. We should show WHY democracy is superior through our care and compassion. There is no need for more vile animals on this planet than there already are.

  • BLIND BELIEFS !!!!!

  • we should chop up his fucking son up if we captured him

  • The North Korean's are giving socialism a bad name, It doesn't have to be that bad.

  • @TheOrderoftheOwl retard...socialism is another system that doesn't work

  • @TheOrderoftheOwl Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Those high on the totem pole take. Those low on the totem pole give. There is no incentive to give more. The socialist system is a failure in addressing basic human behavior. All modern socialist societies realize they must embrace capitalism or fall behind and fail. NK has not realized this yet. The socialist system at it's root is evil. Make people responsible for the actions of those around them.

  • @TheOrderoftheOwl sorry to break it to you, it ALWAYS ends this way.

  • @brohan914 I'm well aware of that buddy boy! And if you don;t think capitalism will survive with our liberties intact then you're the one that needs breaking!!! Capitalism ends in feudalism!!! ALWAYS!!!

  • south korea should make some canons that can shoot mobile phones =))

  • stupid idiot moreons who say communism is good , we had it in romania and it sucks ass a lot , christianity was the thing that prevented us from killing each other in comunism , and people hated ceausescu a lot , its amazing how stupidity from comunism still lingers in romania after 20 years , I like to make fun of communist mentality people and some idiots say it was bettah during comunism , they are the biggest idiots in the world but they are a great source of fun nowdays

  • FUCK NORTH KOREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Let's kill Kim Jong-Il. Seriously.

Him and his entire adult family.

And let's let him hang in a public place, in a glass bulletproof shield for all the world to see.

Let his body decay. And let the F-16s sonic boom over the country with Guns and Roses Playing loud as hell.

Then we can hand out weed.Give them food. Give them YouTube. And let them learn. Learn math. Learn art. Learn culture. Learn of science.

Let's do it. Let's kill Kim Jong-Il. Him and his adult family. Cronies too.

  • @8644371 typical western response. Lets give them "math, art culture science.." Lol like the iraq and the libyans who are still screwing sideways? How about we just stay the fuck out, is that too hard to comprehend?

  • Typical stupid woman. I swear, people say Americans are rude, but some of those Brits are unbelievably snotty, rude, and have an awful attitude

  • damn. well if the north falls the south will have a hell of a humanitarian problem on it's hands. not to mention the non-arable land, the trashed infrastructure, govn't loyalists, it will take the international community to stabilize the region. it's just fucked no matter what. It's better if it falls sooner than later though, it will just go on and on with his dopey kid inheriting the throne, I would support any leader with the balls to take this country down.

  • v for vendetta

  • I am lucky

  • I say rebel!!

  • what i dont understand is how ppl criticized socialist countries like china and still have all of their goods made/bought there, kinda hypocritical

  • @tatidel87 those kind of people are phonies.... they pretend to fight for just causes but they would still buy a diamond that came from a slave labour camp in Africa.

if they benefit from it, then they dont really care

  • @94981745 DAMN RIGHT, U R RIGHT!! THE SAME KIND OF PPL THAT WOULD B THE FIRST TO POINT THEIR FINGERS AT PPLS FAILURES BF THINKIN ABOUT THEIR OWN.

  • haha the guy on the phone sound like arnold lol

  • Let's send the damn to hell. Thank you for the documentary on NK.

  • Well, if anyone thinks that life in North Korea is not that bad, then maybe you should move there. Only a fool will ignore the stories of those who have defected from that country. Look at satellite photos of that country and you will see it is in a state of darkness. However you will have those who will not believe. All I ask is for those people to do some research in the subject of North Korea and they will see that there is not much on the positives of that country.

  • @otakukun82 Ignorance is bliss, as they say.

It's harder to watch this kind of thing knowing there's little anyone can do beyond invasion / war (which is less and less likely the closer the Jongs get to being nuclear... if they aren't already) than to remain ignorant or dismiss it as sensationalism.

Only those that study history or are fortunate enough to have family who lived under Commie rule could even come close to appreciating the NK peoples' plight without living it for themselves.

  • @otakukun82 Um... There's no traffic and the national weight loss program over there has been a huge success. If those aren't positives, I don't know what are!

  • Ah yes, a typical British State Media tactic - "Look at how dreadful life is in this other country we're picking on, compared with the shimmering beacon of light and freedom that The West represents".

It directs attention away from the tyranny at home, and seldom names countries which western governments are happy to selfishly exploit (such as the millions treated as virtual-slaves in China's factories, or those killed by Congo's so-called coltan wars).

  • @Jamiep84 oh shuttup

  • @Ramox3 Truth hurts, huh?

Newsnight is pseudo-intellectualism for bourgeois buffoons.

  • woah -__- at 0:43 the kids playing with the fruits. meaning he probably thinks they are toys or something.

this whole thing is so shocking.

  • @aemnaemz It's not real fruit you fucking idiot.

  • kid is playing with the banana at 0:43

  • :43 - a gay north korean kid.

  • @HarryPothead6009 Nope USA is still Nr 1 man !!! According to Amnesty International !!!!

  • @calisse245 Fuck North Korea

    and go kill yourself

  • Ever see convicts mostly blacks in USA chained in southern states doing phoney work in fields.... LA, Mississippi etc ??? Yeah then talk about DPRK.... hippocrits

  • @calisse245 lolz at the far left communist ;D..its good to see communism will be dead in 100 years :)

If your red, your dead haha :P

  • @calisse245 Except convicts in the US have done a serious crime like theft, mureder, a or rape. Not talking about our ppresident you cunt.

  • Allright lets things straight, USA has the worlds biggest carceral population..... hey they are 310 million, China 1,3 billion.... In USA they execute people in 34 States, mostly blacks.... torture exists.... ask Amnesty International.... Fuck USA the bggest liar of BS worldwide !!!!

  • OK what about of millions homeless in USA ???? Even poor americans eat dog and cat food to ''survive''.... even in NH.... no joke

  • I love the bbc...it's so much better intellectually than most of the stuff we get here in the states

  • @manifestgtr Its as shitty as any other western propaganda medias..... Just a bit ''trendier'' than Fox news... the trashcan of news..... with that nagging bloody british accent.... UK the mother of western imperialism... the mother whore with her US bum bastard offspring lol Man go to hell anglo-saxon-zionist duo !!!!! You are going to hell anyways.... Middle East is standing up ..... thats why DPRK stay the course.... socialism wll prevail and FUCK THE WEST !!!!

  • @calisse245 haha wow that was hateful and angry

  • Fuck North Korea

  • @sikkidnews Long live DPRK fuck you capitalist pig !!!

  • @calisse245 fuck off

  • @sikkidnews Don't fuck the country. The people inside haven't done anything to deserve such obscenity. Fuck Ki m Jung Il.

  • @tillthepagesfade Their all brainwashed idiots.

  • @sikkidnews Do you honestly think they want to live a life like that? Why do you think people are trying to escape the wasteland of a country. Furthermore, they are brainwashed due to once again, Kim Jung Il which proves that I am right, and your horrendously wrong.

  • @tillthepagesfade I hate that whole country.

  • @sikkidnews What a pity you ignorant dolt.

  • @tillthepagesfade screw off

  • @sikkidnews such colorful, meaningless words.

  • @sikkidnews They may be brainwashed but they are not idiots. The country keeps the ignorant of the outside world so if this is all you know then you think you are doing well. Day after day they are told they are the happiest people in the world. Until their eyes are opened to see the outside, they will remain loyal to Dear Leader.

  • @viewer1964 A few months ago, I came across a comment from a young communist wannabe trying to convince us that the North Koreans were truely happy with the same video that we all see. I just can't belive that this fool really believes the BS he is spewting out. Cant remember his name though.

  • Long Live Kim Jong Il

    songunactivist (dot) worldpress (dot) com

  • fu** kim jong ill

he will get kicked out of hell if he dies because he has that much sins.....

  • I hope Kim Wong-il or whatever his name is, (if he is still alive), suffers a slow horrible, lingering death and that his grip on north korea loosens , therby liberating 23 million people, hope the north korean defectors continue their good work making their compatriots aware of the darkness they have had to endure for 60 years,

  • @Euripidies74 So naive and sad, that heavy set lesbian is surrounded by a power structure that will have no part in giving up their power. The only way for N. Korea to escape their current fate is to implode. Then God knows what power will swoop in and take them over, probably China, if they're lucky.

  • Respond to this video... NK is a shit hole, but American is still #1 with people in prison.

  • @Euripidies74 dissappointment, he appears to have suffered a hearth attack, i didn't got to stab him in the hearth, sometimes wishes just don´t come true, but his son is a dick too, maybe there is still hope.

  • @Euripidies74

    11 Months later...

    He's dead!

  • More slimy UK propaganda. North Korea and the state of misery of its people are being used as another tool to keep the rest of us satisfied and in-line. That regime could have been dealt with long ago by any number of means but that was never the plan. They are far too useful just the way they are.

  • @somewhere6

Just a question, what would you then define as freedom that are being denied to us through this use of this propaganda? I'm not decrying, I want to know.

  • It is amazing that in this day and age Tyrants like the one in Iraq who now isn't and this guy still exist. NKorea neads an oil field underneath it, then there would surely be change. Still it is too close to China if anything were done, it could start a world war I suppose.

  • It's funny.. of all the things North Korea calls itself, the one people choose to argue for is the 'socialist' part of its 'socialist republic' horseshit.

Children starving on the streets of a totalitarian nation just isn't something I'd hijack and twist to argue my taxes down.

  • @sphoney thats an interesting point.

I dont think it is very apt, however: I don't know that socialism necessarily leads to totalitarianism or vice versa. You may want to think of taxes as democratic socialism. Though I am not defending any position. This shit is trippy to think about. These people live in an alternate reality brought into being at the creative fiat of a polit-bureau. I'm horrified and so very interested at the same time. Its like a train-wreck, u cant look away.

  • North Korea is a failed state i laugh at anyone from the west who thinks socialism and communism is a good idea lolz.

  • @TheProdigy121 Actually...when elements of socialism have been combined with liberal democracy, it has proven to be quite effective in providing free healthcare, education and general social services to all people living within that particular country so that on top of capitalism, the essential components to living a healthy life are given to anyone free of charge. Explain how that is not a good thing.

  • @TheProdigy121 FUCK YOU CAPITALIST SLAVE !!!!

  • You never hear or see images of what is going on in the north of North Korea. You just hear stories. We can't imagine the horrors there.

  • well the way that i see north korea, north korea will be the same. The communist system will continue next in line in power will be kim yun ill son kim ill song

  • On a humorous note, Jeremy Paxman's mundane and emotionless voice at the end just ruins all the shock on horror we have experienced in the film, he looks like he's falling to sleep!!

  • @HHGFHJGFHJGFJTYFJDGY jeremy paxman is an egotistical self satified chauvinist pig i hate that man the day he is thrown off newsnight is the day i will watch it

  • @summertimeloveful Yes, I agree, look at this hilarious video from Have I got News For You, where Boris Johnson makes fun of Paxman - see the video from 38 seconds - youtube.com/watch?v=6CJXWXenwdQ

  • What would be necessary to entice the NK gov't to give up the fraud? Immunity for prosecution of their innumerable crimes would be prominent issue. The South gov't could hardly support the rehabiliation of the North on its own. A collective all the Asian gov'ts would have to be organized to rebuild the North. We should really think of this situation as a hostage situation. The biggest, most horrible hostage situation in history. A ransom might end it.

  • "I never saw bananas in the North" Well fuck you Angloamerican-state reporters , DPRK has always been #1 Fruit Producers Period. Defectors could try to tell the truth but they would be censored and executed in American concentration camps in the North Area of South Korea...

  • Haven't heard of Michael Savage, but sadly you cannot have an opinion on the BBC. Its charter binds in to be neutral showing both sides, meaning they can't take a side.

North Korea doesn't ask God for help because they don't know God.

This report misses on how much the government's grip on knowledge has loosened. With the increased trade along the porous Chinese border, everyone has watched South Korean TV shows and music by now and knows it is richer.

  • @danglars No, the BBC's charter is in place to prevent it from showing any undue bias. The truth has no sides but the BBC clearly do, the left. Run a google search on BBC bias and see what you find.

Does it not worry you that, in Michael Savage, there is a man so apparently dangerous that the government(1st banned under labour, then upheld by coalition gov) has deemed him unfit to enter the the UK, placing him on a list of undiserables along side child molesters and murderers.....(cont)

  • .....(cont) for the crime of having an opinion that does not tally up with the governments own world views, yet you have never heard of him? Can you not see that by banning a man for his opinion, a very dangerous precedent has been set? are the alarm bells not starting to chime inside your head? Michael Savage is only the start, who will be next is the question.

  • @nothavingnoneofit Oh brother. The BBC is not the UK govt. *Facepalm* Dumbass.

  • @LittlePinky82 '*Facepalm* Dumbass'. Let me guess, you're an American liberal right?. Read my posts again and tell me where it is exactly that I said the BBC IS the UK govt. The point I was attempting to make is that it is not so different here in the UK, than it is N Korea with the BBC playing a similar role in Britain as the KCT does in N Korea. The socialist N Labour party created all kinds of quango's to control what could and could not be broadcast on TV here and the BBC acts as a...(cont)

  • ....(cont)mouthpiece for the UK government.

The role of the BBC, being the public broadcaster(we pay for it), should be to act as our 5th column and effectively be our eyes and ears inside the government to prevent the passing of laws which will undermine our rights as a people, but the opposite is happening. All we seem to get from the BBC, in regards to the news, is government propaganda of which I have already listed examples of in an earlier post.

The news we do get is designed to..(cont)

  • ...(cont) silence dissent rather than inform the masses, unless of couse, the policy the report is refering to leans to the right, in which case, it's fair game. It's all so undemocratic.

    Peace.

  • @nothavingnoneofit Oh get over it.

  • @nothavingnoneofit Sorry hon. Not a liberal. There are other ideologies out there. Get over you're either this or that shit. It's so pathetic. What? You're trying to say that the UK=NK? Canada's conservative got doesn't allow George Galloway into the country but they are happy to let in Ann Coulter and her hate speech. So what do you say about that? Canada's conservative prime minster is now North Korea? How idiotic.

  • @LittlePinky82 Why is it pathetic for me to ask you whether or not you consider your self to be a liberal?

I am not trying to say the UK=NK at all. North Korea is a national socialist country, the UK is a member of a union of socialist countries, a bit more like the soviet union. It has taken the best part of 60 years for the EU to reach the point that it has. Running parralel with the advancement of the EU has been 3rd world immigration into the member states of the EU. You have to be..(cont)

  • (cont) familier with the tecniques taught by the school of frankfurt and the teachings of Marx to understand why that is relevent to the discussion. A high number of the cabinet members in the last British gov learned their trade during their time as members of the communist party before joining the Labour party. The same is true of other EU countries and their own equivilent socialist parties.

How idiotic? it is more idiotic to believe that everyone is as ignorant as you are, grow up!

  • @nothavingnoneofit I am a communist you dumb shit. Marx is the founder of communism and his writings. Every communist knows his shit. Idiot. You're a moron and wouldn't know socialism if an actual socialist slapped you against the head with being such a moron. God you're pathetic.

  • @nothavingnoneofit Sorry hon not a liberal. It's so pathetic you're in this black and white view. You don't think about other ideologies out there. That's so pathetic and being an idiot. North Korea isn't a socialist country moron. If you knew anything about socialism. If you want a socialist country look at Sweden. Now compare it to North Korea. See the difference? Moron.

  • Why do the BBC not criticise our own Government in the same way they do here to N Korea? New Labour has the blood of over a million innocent people on their hands yet they recieve very little criticism from the BBC. New Labour abused our most basic of human rights(to decide our own destiny) in ratifying the Lisbon treaty as well as denying the English their integrity as distincted peoples, yet the BBC remain loyal to the EU and the mongrel nation lie. Michael Savage PHD, best selling....(cont)

  • ...(cont) author and highly successful radio talk host, has been baned from the UK for having an opinion that is not political correct enough yet the BBC defend the decision by giving it no coverage, totally desroying the myth that we live in a free 'democratic' country. The ConDems and other UK media souces are no better.

Barack Obama's approval rating has dropped quicker than any other US Pesidents, yet the BBC has yet to be critical of the 'Great' Leader(of the free world).

    The future's red

  • @DeadRed94 Some people don't believe in God. Get over it.

  • I don't understand why people insist on meddling in others countries affairs. NK looks unstable as it is. by providing aid to the people that their own government is taking credit for aren't we prolonging the inevitable. Leave them be, their own suffering will cause the government to crumble. And if they are self sustainable then so be it kudos to them for pulling it off unlike the rest of the world which is far from self sustainable.

  • @aks8824 because there are millions of people starving to death many of them are children. If it were you and three generations of your family sentenced to starvation and eventually death...I'm SURE you would feel differently. It absolutely amazes me at how some folks have no understanding about what people and CHILDREN are going through there. What just because it's not you and your family everyone should turn their heads and ignore it? Maybe, just maybe, some people really do care.

  • @aks8824 Because there are thousands of people dying there. What because it's not you and 3 generations of your family sentenced to starvation and death...no one should care? Maybe people think it's horrific for people and CHILDREN to be treated like animals and tortured?? It never ceases to amaze me how obnoxious and cold people are about things like this. Understand that they don't have a choice...get it??? Would you want help if you weighed 50lbs and had to watch your kids starve?

  • Amazing.

Any chance they will reunificate like Germany?

  • @goauld88

Not much without causing a bigger clusterfuck than in Germany. You just can't strap two countries into one when there is about 100 year technological and cultural gap between them.

But then again, no-one has ever done that kind of thing before so there really is no way of knowing what would actually happen.

I think letting south korea to "expand" into northwards would be the most effective way of doing things, since even S-Korea can't handle millions of immigrants at the same time

  • I think the private markets have already been closed. Kim devalued the Won thus wiping out the savings of many DPRKers depriving them of any hard cash to buy from those markets and thereby puting them out of business, perhaps that was his plan all along.

  • If the NK regime falls the best way is not to have South Korea absorb it much as West Germany absorbed East Germany. They should recieve like 50 000 refugees/year and have companies like Hyundai invest heavily in the North. It wouldn't take long before conditions would become vastly better than now.

  • China shouldn't have any say in North Korea's future, because China isn't a free country. I agree that gettng more information to the North Koreans is important. Sadly, the best thing to do would be either a war or an overthrow of the North Korean government; though costly it is probalby the only way to free North Korea.

  • i lived in south korea before. most koreans said reunification will never happen suddenly because it would trash south korean economy. war would ultimately have the same outcome if US supported south korea and north didnt have china or russian backing. They would simply get their ass kicked.

  • 5:10 is best solution as of now for N.Korea

  • (In my opinion), the future of North Korea resides with China. Eventually the People's Republic will amalgamate the territory and make it an autonomous region like Tibet & the Inner Mongolian Region.

Realistically, a renewed war with the south is untenable. It makes more sense to look northward.

  • @SamonMarquis Then China has to bring up a basket-case economy and go through the huge effort to make the xenophobic North Korean culture more Sino-friendly....it would be like if East Germany became part of Poland after the Cold War. It makes more sense for the two Koreas to become trading partners but that sort of thing will only happen after Kim Jong Il dies and if an army junta doesn't sieze command.
