Good memories. I once built a k'nex clock along the same principles that had gear reduction and the amazing part was it was only 4 seconds too fast, and that was as close as I could get.
I made a mechanical grandfather clock that told time and the weight gave it about 4 hours of run time. I might make it again and post a video some time
Alright...so this clock works and I am right next to the inventor. It looks pretty cool, but it's time to close the clock chapter and begin something fun---cars and motorcyles.
you need some shots of the mechanisms in the back. i don't really get how it works.

Ok so a couple of q's:
did you make an escapement? or just used the motor?
how did you get the correct gear ratios? Did knex have the right toothed gears?

i stopped the time and every (fast ) turn is +- 1,50 sconds but very nice :)

i Think everytime it does the full 360 turn that counts as a second

Slow it down about 45.5 times and it mabye would work. How did u get the gears right? 60-1 and then 60-1.

Wow I made something like that, only its made to measure seconds
Skydrftr101 4 years ago
its not functional its like way too fast
rojm 4 years ago
even if it is too fast its still pretty cool
conor1148 4 years ago
It's not too fast, the one that has an orange connector is the milliseconds, The one with the blue rod is secons, and the white connector is minutes
Mickey466 4 years ago
so it will actually show the correct time and keep the correct time?
conor1148 4 years ago
Probably if the battery doesn't die and you turn it on just as it's the same time
Mickey466 4 years ago
i guess soo
rojm 4 years ago
wow how u do that post instructions
