I was originally thinking disc 2 of Revelation was just a greatest hits album, not a complete re-recording. I was surprised... but definitely not disappointed.
They shouldn't have even bothered having Arnel record the hits they had with Perry, he has a fine voice but he sounds too different. It's like having Sammy Hagar rerecord all Van Halen's best songs with David Lee Roth.
This is our graduation song this year. I was SO happy I almost cried when they announced it, even though we all knew it'd win (it was either this, Nickelback or some song the preps picked xD). We all got together this year to make sure it'd be something like this instead of that Green Day song :D

@eddielives100 actually you are the one in the minority cause Sonic Boom got them their best reviews in years and the really hardcore kiss fans the ones that probably would collect their used condoms and shit lol loved the new album I personally haven't really cared for Kiss since they put the makeup back on but even Rolling Stone Magazine gave it 3 stars.
@froodle04 I will half agree with you on the kiss rocks thing the only version of Kiss I like is without the makeupe and here is the reason with the makeup all they thought about was the presentation not song crafting without th emakeup they didn't have to worry bout that and in my opinion the songwriting and playing got a whole lot better.
I like this version personally. Its an updated version of a good song that I don't have to hunt down a version by a different band for. It doesn't fade away, which I think is cool, and Arnel, to me, has a richer tone than Perry. They're both good versions, and good singers, but I like this one better.

But I don't listen to Journey just to hear the stuff they did with perry I liked the originals they did with augeri. like Higher Place,All The Way,Signs of Life,With Your Love,Beyond The Clouds and Faith In The Heartland. That's Why Augeri is my personal favorite.

I don't understand you all. This version sounds very good too, but one thing disturbs me. Since Steve Perry leaves the band, Journey search always a singer who copy Steve. So all songs with Arnel are missing a personal note of him. I'm sure, that he is a very good singer, but Journey don't let him show this optimally. Arnel is always damned to copy Perry that is really sad. I hope they let him sing with his own style next time.
Not all of their lead singers after perry were perry copies Jeff Scott Soto can't sing like Perry Im not saying soto was bad cause I am a huge fan of his but he was not a Perry clone not even close.

Idk, guys, it may not be the original Steve Perry, but it's about as close as anyone could ever get. Arnel Pineda is a true rags to riches rock star. This dude deserves to take Perry's place. He had it HARD before Journey.
Unlike the original songs, Perry's voice was not overpowered by the instruments. Schon's guitar and the drums seem too loud in relation to the guitar or the singer doesn't quite have the presence the original singer had. Arnel is a good copy. I don't blame the band, they love playing music. They don't want to just retire.
arneal should sing like this live though i think he has a tendency to over sing the song to pronouncate. I know this is recorded in a studio but still he can sound like that live.

Soto left Journey for a couple of reasons
