This argument about online play is true on SF4, it is far less true on mvc3.. Really less dependant of timing, and basically, if you have a good connection, it's hard to tell the difference.

kuuron has an excellent spencer would even say that his combos are better than combo fiends but combos don't win you games its how you get in there that matters and if you look at kuurons matches he doesn't have a good spencer as an anchor imo

Combofiend made 4th place at EVO with this team. Beeing an online warrior doesn't compare to having offline experience against the best in the world. Also Mvc3 online netcode is ass and there aren't even that many people playing, the fact that hes on PSN makes it even worse considering that most pros are on XBL.

Yes, I did watch some of his PSN gameplay and he does have a creative and fantastic Spencer on point, no argument there. That beeing said I feel like its completly logical to believe that sponsored players that go to world championships and play for money and prizes are in general better players than basement dwellers with online titles like "cosmic warlord master" ect.

@RudeBomberBoy01 Yeah but online play still doesn't mean shit because you're essentially playing a gimped version of the game because marvel is so timing-dependent. Every bit of technology that can be discovered in the game only a fraction of that can be pulled off online so online warriors are essentially not even playing the same game.

So the very idea that anyone online is better than the players featured here is a moot point until said players cart their damn asses out and get fighting.

I do agree with you that offlline are still better onlne but im just saying dont count out the online players...

@jayyy36 that might be the case with Street fighter but by anyone's estimation Marvel's netcode is not up to the task of emulating everything that is possible with offline Marvel. Might this change with ultimate? Maybe. I'm hoping so. But as it is right now, the gulf separating online and offline in Marvel - specific to Marvel - is too vast.

Agreed, online presents too many problems from glitches, lag and simply a slower reaction. They made the game easier for scrubs in MvC3, so I would think the scrubbiest players would have hopes to "dominate" in tourneys. All other scrubs have joined the bandwagon...

@vietleis you have a good point but latiff played alotta online hours he say in an interview and look at him he got second place in evo took out poongko and daigo! online play helps but u learn a bit more when u play offline i know from experince because i play online and in the arcades with people so online does help! but at the moment nothing beats offline play till we have better internet connection on online play
