  • anyone knows similar classic movies like this?

  • I miss living in Palm Springs!! Now Im back to Japan!!!

Please visit my website called "Living in Japan.com"

I hope you like it :)

  • Troy Donahue was a movie star! In the old days of the studio system, the studios both groomed talent and their image. Troy had a mentor in Delmer Daves and thru 4 smash hits, A Summer Place, Parrish, Susan Slade, and Rome Adventure, Troy was a major movie star worldwide. This film captures the talent and fame of Troy and other WB stars Connie Stevens, Ty Hardin, Bob Conrad. Stefanie Powers on loanout from her studio Columbia/

This is a fun pic and continued Troy's streak at the box office

  • What, no darkies allowed here??? I hope they all died young.

  • @spagandtuna Shut the fuck with your politically correct assholism. FUCK YOU.

  • @UncleCharlieOakley Could you please eat the shit from my ass? Polish my rind and take the itch away!!

  • @UncleCharlieOakley Eat ya Auntie Oakley's twat ya filthy cunt!

  • Strange - this looks and sounds like the real trailer, but it has no writing on the screen for the title of the movie, or the names of the stars when each one gets an individual shot. So this can't be what was actually shown in theaters.

  • This was a fun movie for teenagers to see, but even then, as a very young teen, I thought the actors looked a bit old to be playing people on a college break. I mean, after all, I had been watching these grown up stars on my TV screen for a few years - Hawaiian Eye, Surfside 6. But still, I loved them, and was so glad I saw the film. I still have my LP soundtrack! I adored Conrad & Stevens, and remember Jerry Van Dyke singing his "Bye, Bye, Blackbird" routine. "Bye, bye."

    Thanks so much.

  • @Alexaklr yeah, lol, back then they always had 35 year olds playing teens

  • @inkey2 Troy Donahue was 25 when he made the movie and 26 when it got released. How old do you think those "kids" were on HAPPY DAYS, in GREASE and, by the way, have you watched GLEE lately? Cory Monteith is 27.

  • @UncleCharlieOakley hey, what was the deal with troy donahue,,,,,,why did his career fail or fade out....was it something to do with drugs/alcohol or ......nothing to do with either?

  • @inkey2 He came from a wealthy family and was massively popular. He was (rightly) furious about being in "slave labor" under a 7-year contract and made lots of money for his studio Warner Bros while being badly paid. He fought to get better roles but failed and suffered a terrible battle with cocaine. He survived but Hollywood had moved on to other young great looking guys. Today, there are many new "Troy Donahues" who haven't yet figured out that they won't be famous for long.

  • @UncleCharlieOakley did you read kookie Edd Byrnes (77 sunset strip) book?......pretty interesting

  • @inkey2 No, I haven't. Thanks so much for the recommendation. I'll definitely get the book.

  • No wonder my generation borders on sexual schizophrenia! We had no Internet, we had to find out what it was all about by going to see movies like this!

  • Lindo, lindo esse Troy Donahue.

  • Troy Donahue sings the title song, and he had a rather pleasing voice.

  • My how times have changed. Now Palm Springs is guys, guys, guys!

    ;-)

  • Who was your favorite teen screen team?

    Troy & Connie

    Frankie & Annette

    James Darren & Pamela Tiffin

    Elvis & Ann-Margret

    Donna Loren & Dick Dale

  • The pop quiz of pop quizzes--Name of the writer of this opus, and....Good Night.

  • Easy stuff, Juliaflo......Earl Hamner Jr. who would later go on to create The Waltons! Here's one for you....who was that horrible girl who played Jerry van Dyke's girlfriend? Did she ever work again?

  • That, I believe was Zeme North. As for working again, she was probably in a few pictures and guested on television (q.v. Internet Movie Database).

  • MGM had a huge hit with "Where The Boys Are" with its contract list of stars such as Dolores Hart ( who would later become a Nun in real life), and 4 players who would become big movie Paula Prentiss, Jim Hutton,Yvette Mimieux and George Hamilton. Rival WB looked around its lot and cast contract stars Troy Donahue, Connie Stevens, Ty Hardin,

Bob Conrad ( and Stef Powers on loanout from her studio Columbia) in this deligtful Norman Taurog directed comedy which was a big hit for Warners Bros

  • My older sister and a bunch of her teenage friends took me to see this movie at the Beach Theater in Va Beach, yes, way back in 1963. They didn't think the scene where Robert Conrad tries to rip Connie Steven's dress off was realistic. As they said, "What girl in her right mind wouldn't let Robert Conrad rip her clothes off!" Get over it, Connie!!!

  • sorry, but maybe your sister didn't care if she was raped, but alot of other girls sure care. Also,it's not something a girl/woman "gets over"

  • @4MaryAnna way to take it up the ass.

  • Ahhh, Robert Conrad is such a stud
