I've not heard of this before, but it appears to have stunts from other movies. The Cadillac jumping out of the concrete pipe is from "Speedtrap", and I think I also saw "Eleanor" from the original "Gone in 60 Seconds".
@jazzspoons The Stunts are performed by Grant Page, australian stuntman. the stunts in the movie are from other movies or file footage of his stunts, but the movie seems to swap and change between a doco on grant page / sorcery.. its rather unusual
Just checking In. Thanks to all the SORCERY Band and STUNTROCK fans for all the recent E-Mails we have received. I know the film has been playing again and hope you all enjoyed it. If anyone has any questions for the band or about the film, just let me know. A Special Thanks goes out to the "New Beverly Cinema" in L.A. for their support. Thanks Brian!!

To banduril: On a "Kenny Pick" Radio interview, ,Perry Morris from the band "SORCERY" said when asked about the tragic night club fire involving the group "Great White" ... Sorcery had a "Licensed Pyrotect" at every show they did for the Fire Marshall inspections before they went on. From L.A. Concerts to Las Vegas Concerts,SORCERY never had any problems due their great crew, and would not have used fire in a room that small as Great White did.
@banduril Well, bad things happen to people that write things like, "Once Bitten, Twice Shy". Also, if you have short bus champions working the pyro things are probably going to go awry.
Last night at the "NEW BEVERLY Cinema" ( in L.A. CA.) was another testiment to the drawing power of this film. Directed by Brian Trenchard Smith, starring Grant Page, Monique Van DeVin and the Band Sorcery. The audience was excited to be there, a fun atmosphere and all were entertained. The local media reporters in attendence were not disappointed.
As quoted by one L.A. reporter "We had a great time watching this film".
Thanks to all from the Beverly Cinema for putting this on.
The Los Angeles CA. band "SORCERY" from the Film "STUNTROCK".
The film will be playing again at the "New BEVERLY CINEMA" in L.A. / Hollywood CA. on Friday night, June 11th at 11:55pm.
Quentin Tarantino is the new owner of the theatre and fan of this film and the band.
Theatre location is on BEVERLY Blvd. two blocks west of La Brea.
The Films director,Brian Trenchard Smith will be there to talk with the audience and answer questions about the making of the movie and the band "SORCERY" .
The Navy's DEVGRU group, better known as "Seal Team Six", was made famous by their original commander, Richard Marcinko. The origins of ST6 can be traced to the aftermath of Operation Eagle Claw, the failed 1980 attempt to rescue American hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Iran. Marcinko was the first commanding officer of this new unit which he named SEAL Team Six.
It became officially operational in 1981 "Fight 4 Lg Cats to gain addmission"

In the back alley fighting dens of Hải Phòng. I used a combination sparkly eyes technique to first convince the beast that I had no intention of fighting. Since the cheetah is a pussy it wants nothing more than to believe no fight is imminent. I then jump the animal from a crouching tiger position. You have to fight at least four large cats to gain admission to SEAL team 6
I also was at the Beverly Cinema last nite to see Stuntrock. We loved it. I couldn't disagree more with the last comment. I thought it was a interesting film and really enjoyed the Q&A session with the menbers of Sorcery. I liked the music and will definitely go again when it plays!

I went to see this last night. They had some of the cast there, as well as the bass player and drummer for sorcery. The guy introducing the film described it as "Jackass meet Spinal Tap" and I totally agree. I loved it.

It's coming to DVD early September from Code Red DVD. I was getting really excited till I saw this preview. Probably won't order it now. I hate to see the director of Dead End Drive-In using clips from movies he didn't do. He filmed the stuff in DEDI well-enough.
Saw the movie when i was a kid in 1980. Needles to say some images you just don't forget. Can remember the name of a few of the songs too. Love the Merlin vs. the Prince of Darkness scenes.
I saw these guys live in Hollywood back in the 70's with Van Halen and they stole the show ! They were great! I can't believe I found this! I would like to see more on this band!
greatest concept ever. They made awesome cliche rock before it became cliche. God, I love it so much! Can you imagine how cool it would have been to see van halen open for them? THAT IS JUSTICE!
bands these days just seem to have forgotten how important the stage show really is

More bands should have a wizard conjuring fireballs on stage when they play live. I definitely see a market for that in this day and age.
666slink 1 year ago
@666slink They (SORCERY from L.A.CA.) were doing this back in the 70's.
Can you imagine seeing this live...AWESOME!!!
Yea,more bands should be doing more for their live audiences these days.

@ddr78759 You ain't lying! Live shows today aren't what they used to be back in the day apparently.

@666slink Yeah, just look at Great White. Fire on stage turned out nicely for them.

@banduril That's what happens when you don't know what you are doing!
Apparently SORCERY were better prepared that Great White to work with fire.
Never heard of any SORCERY concerts going up in Smoke...have you?

Does anyone know if these guys are still around?
I heard they were recently in L.A. to attend a screening of this film.
I was wondering if they were also playing a show.
I would love to see this band live!
RTHinAZ 1 year ago 2
@RTHinAZ I hear some of the band mates are in So. Ca. and Arizona.
They have a page at youtube."youtube/sorceryband"
Also more info on them on the web.
Use..."Sorcery band" or "Stuntrock Movie"
Don't confuse with the Ill band,or the Black Metal band
with the same name.
Also try..."Sorcery rock band LA Ca usa". at "wikipedia"
That may help you to get more info on them.
