  • Both singers are awesome, both are in Crossfade. Why is there always someonebitching in the comments -.-

  • cracks me up how many people whine or fantasize about the singers and the roles they should actually have instead of just listening to it for what it is and shutting up

  • Well these guys do sound exactly the same live as they did on their single, that's for certain.

  • Comment removed

  • failed!!!!.....

  • yep, sounds better live...

  • Man, haven't thought about this band in awhile, saw them a bunch of times and course they killed it every time. Regardless of how Tony "looks" in this live performance, they nailed that song that night, wow. Great emotion, great song.

  • I know Tony. Too bad Crossfade split up... Check out his new band, Undived!!!

  • @Legofattythatfarted Crossfade have'nt split. Tony left years ago, but Crossfade are still together.

  • @Triviumtiger Oh... I didn't know dat...

  • @Legofattythatfarted Just that they now have a rhythm/lead guitarist called Les Hall. Ed is still vocals & guitar, Mitch is still bass and Mark had just joined the band in 2010.

  • the back up singer is the friend that would show up at band practice and wouldnt leave until they put him to do something

  • loose the backup singer........Sorry...

  • the backup singer should be the lead, and the lead should be the backup

  • these guys or so much better live than i thought they would be!!

  • one too many singers, one too many strings...

  • a wah wah.... huh... LOL!!!

  • I never meant to be so cold, never meant to be so cold, never meant to be so cold, .....its cold in here....

  • These dudes suck ass live sorry but they do.I would rather listen to it on cd or just the plain song.

  • ii take it these guys didnt get as popular as i thought, after this album they disappeared

  • @SlitMouthWoman do u need ur eyes open to sing or rap anways?

  • yeah its different than the norm but let me tell u the lead singer needs no help, he plays lead, rythum, and sings, watch some of his acoustic stuff and you ll get a better idea of who crossfade really is, he is crossfade.

  • The back up singer dances like hes rapping, which I find funny. However, I think I like the studio version better than this live performance, thats just me.

  • I find it funny everyone on here is arguing about the back up singer, when he's only in this song. In all their other songs the bassist normally does backup and Honestly I like the sound of this song and band. I think it's one of the heaviest three peice bands out there, except for this song when they bring in a backup...

  • both singers are spot on and hit all their notes. they harmonize well together and it sounds like an exact replica of the studio version so all of u STFU.

  • this band is one of the worst live bands ive ever heard, no wonder i never heard them touring with any one, thank god gor good live bands like breaking ben, 3 days grace shinedown, aaron lewis and the great corey taylor are all truly amazing live!!!!!

  • @billyshmo52673 So when did you see them live? Or are you just basing this off a video that is literally YEARS old with people that aren't even in the band anymore. Just wondering...and the GREAT Corey Taylor...lol, c'mon man, lets not get carried away now.

  • No offense but ed sloan is waaay better than that back-up i must even say the back up singer isnt that good at all. And playing guitar and vocals is harder than just focusing on vocals anyway he does great expecially at the end of the song he hits all the high notes and improv!

  • Everyone one should watch there live version of So Far Away. Damn amazing

  • I love this song so much!!! I have known this song since I was like five!!!

  • Crossfade is an awesome band, they sound great live

  • what i really meant to say is i'm sorry for the way i am.....i never meant to be so cold!!

  • he could at least pretend to use the decks, he looks a bit out of place just stood there singing a few lines

  • Comment removed

  • gotta say...saw these dudes at the H.O.B in New Orleans and they kicked ass.

  • Could the back up singer at least hold a cowbell or tamborine?

  • @cortem762 it's alot harder then you think.

  • @cortem762 yeah really. he's just...sorta...there?

  • @cortem762 hahahaha he looks dumb just standing there with nothing lol

  • Tony Byroads used to be their DJ. The reason he is ONLY singing backups for this song was because when they wrote it, they most likely felt the instruments used by a DJ wouldn't particularily work for this song, so they must have decided to only use him as a back-up vocalist.

Sure he looks a bit useless, but if he had actually done anything else the song may not be as good as it is.

  • I am sure these guys are just so proud of their little dyslexic fan base. And on that note did JxCon just argue about the backup being good? hmm thought that was what I said

  • Tony doesn't suck,I bet he would own some of you haters in a rap contest, with his eyes closed.

  • the back up singer is way better

  • Why cant we have music like this these days??

  • To me that "useless" back up singer kicks ass compared to their lead. He needs support for 90% of his lyrics... Whats with that??? Just sayin

  • @1WastedGamer its called improvising. hes getting himself involved with the song

  • @1WastedGamer fuck you ed sloan is a fucking legend

  • @1WastedGamer For vocal harmony? Duh. he is an amazing singer. Can you hold a note as long as he can so effortlessly why playing guitar and staying on beat perfectly? I highly doubt it.

  • @1WastedGamer have you ever played a guitar and sung at the same time?...........apparently not because most of the attention is spent on making sure the music is perfect and singing is second. you would be bitching about a crappy guitarist if he was singing great and fucking up the song!

  • @1WastedGamer dude sounds to me like their lead singer is pretty damn good and yeah it looks kinda dumb just standing up there just holding a mic for half the song

  • @1WastedGamer Eh, when you look at the lead singer playing guitar and singing the more difficult parts, it makes him seem incredibly useless.

  • @1WastedGamer its called harmony dumb fuck

  • @sullysullivan949 what is a harmony dumb fuck, dumb fuck?

  • @1WastedGamer If you ask me, the talentless backup singer ruins the song. He just stands there and sings... like a complete tool.

  • @1WastedGamer Ever tried being a Lead Guitarist (He uses a 7 String btw) and Lead Singer at the same time? I think it's kinda hard to do that at the same time, they probably had him so Ed could concentrate on his guitar parts more.

  • @1WastedGamer Well, obviously I dont know for sure, but I think alot of the time the lead is out of breath. He isn't singing bro, he's yelling, and he is out of breath for the refrain. But dude can sure play the guitar, and he sounds good when he gets loud. His softer singing voice is so so at best tho.

  • @mycommentpwnz No, that isn't the reason.

  • @1WastedGamer Tony Byroads kicks ass, his voice is amazing:)

  • @1WastedGamer The lead does not need the back up singer. The back up just gives something extra to the sound.

  • @1WastedGamer theyre both awesome i miss tony but ed is still badass

  • @1WastedGamer He is only in this song to sing a diff tune to support the main vocalist.

  • @Razzxoxo

He backs up in ever song crossfades done. if not him then someone else. But ed never goes completely solo on an official t

  • @1WastedGamer I agree with you man. He was awesome.

  • I can just picture the "optional singer dude" at 13-14 yrs old, standing in his room, in front of a full length mirror, with a paper towel roll practicing those retarted body and hand motions.

    Like....dude....SERIOUSLY ?!?

  • @invictus2791 sorry he was trying to move on the stage so that way he doesn't just stand their awkwardly?

  • I need help covering this song,by myself as a one man band,Eddie could you teach the steps to me,oh! and get Mitch,he'll be a big help to me too

    Thanks Mr. Ed,

  • way to drop the original tuning lik 3 steps

  • Agreed. He is a trooper. Best of luck. Sometimes I just get pissed when people get the wrong idea of what went down.

  • @crossfadeguitar1 I agree Tony is a great guy getting to meet him tonite when they roll into town to be on TV, don't understand why everyone is hating on him

  • a musica foda e banda tbm *-* \../

  • Who raped the Replay button =D

  • And Zoom2600 - you are a funny girl. I like you fact checking! Hilarious!

  • @crossfadeguitar1 dude when are you going to give me some help with covering starless? been asking forever lol, i want to post a cover

  • VenomSperm? I think you're right. This ONE song that T finally got right-that ONE line that he was directed to sing because he was loved by friends may make it hard for you to realize that you just make it worse for him. He sang some great lines as he was told to do so.. Don't get it twisted. Only two writers existed for that record . guess what - one wasn't Tony. Peaceo!

  • So Crossfadeguitar1 is the man himself? Sup Ed?

  • i just love the wah pedal in this solo>!!!!!

  • yea, the singing dude is worthless

  • @aquabat104 Not worthless he was not giving any opportunities to sing.. or play something else it is one of the main reasons why he left. I feel bad for him.

  • @kingstomman thats not why he left, read his testimony and you will find out why he left. He has formed a new band called The Undivided

  • @solidrockradio Really? didn't know that i was always told he left because he wasn't given many opportunities for the band... though it makes kinda sense if he went to form a band of his own.

  • @aquabat104 he is not worthless

  • @VenomNerd he is, he just stands there then sings one line........

  • @aquabat104 have you even watch the video?beacause if u have u know that he sings more than one line..and he has a great voice without him the riff wouldnt be very good

  • rhythm guitar would be really hard to play too. a lot of people say people who play rhythm guitar suck at playing but they are actually really good. rhythm guitar is harder to play than it looks and sound. most singers prefer to play rhythm so they can focus on singing and connect to the crowd

  • Waaaaaaaaah *-*

  • zume2600 - Thanks douche.

  • @crossfadeguitar1 i prefer to be called douchebag or simply d-bag, there ole sizzlechest.

  • Love this!

I wish the back up vocalist was still there though

    They sounded awesome together!!

  • Hey sithor551 - tell that to all the rappers with their entourage on stage...just kidding. But it is a thought. Even Linkin Park's early stuff had the one singer not doing anything during some songs. But it's also a good example of what you are talking about. He sings more now and plays guitar.

  • such a great band reminds me of waking up in the morning in 9th grade and listening to it before i went to school and couldnt stop singing it....i miss those good ol days...

  • they dropped the key :[

  • crossfade you guys rock one of my big influences in music. want to hear some news!!!

  • what happened to these guys?

  • @ilovemyskateboard12

    New album out April

  • First off - tomT024 - If you can't drive yet then I retract what I'm about to say - What do you do in your life - superhero? I think maybe you should find a BETTER band to comment/piss on. I'll forgive you - but later in my life. Get one!!

Second- Thank you TheBisness87 for making tomT0whatever realize he/she may be a douce. You rock for respecting the rock!

Third- ALL haters listen up 'cause we're about to rock your faces off!

    -Eddie from CROSSFADE

  • @crossfadeguitar1

Love your music. Dont worry about the haters just keep doin your thing! Can't wait for that new album! Crossfade is back!

  • @crossfadeguitar1 You think that you are Ed Sloan from Crossfade?

  • @TSALYRICAL actually he is Ed Sloan from Crossfade, they are very in touch with their fans. Group of good guys in a great hard rock band!

  • @JoshBaumgardner u related to jay?

  • @SMDB82 the producer? Yeah, distantly, I dont talk to him though. Why do you ask?

  • @JoshBaumgardner just curious. pretty cool.

  • @crossfadeguitar1 misspelled douche there, nookie licker.

  • @crossfadeguitar1 dude your new shit sucks ass and u guys are horrendous live. of course the tone deaf retards that support you will disagree but hey, whatever.

  • @SMDB82 Tone death? You sir are an idiot.

  • @SlitMouthWoman and u fag, are completely retarded. i said TONE DEAF. learn how to read and then proceed to fuck right off. bitch.

  • @SMDB82 Oh,I'm so hurt good job with your swearing I misspelled on purpose,so see your reaction it worked. :+)

  • Bsjf

  • The backup singer that they added is so useless. Just saying. He stands there, tries to look cool and does a stupid flip with the mic. The only reason he's interesting is because he makes the singer's job a little easier.

  • @Evilhax0r does it matter?.....

  • I don't see anything wrong with this.

Sure, it's not amazing, but it's still pretty damn decent. Better than lip syncing it and sounding %100 bang on. You can't expect a song played live to be exactly like the studio version

  • Best alternative song ever

  • I have seen many live videos and have played in bands who have played live shows 1 if you don't like the song or band you probably will start to bitch about everything in a live vid. and 2. IT IS HARD TO SOUND GREAT LIVE, especially if you don't have a good soundman running the eq boards and god forbid the musicians are only human they have bad days or get sick so please for the love of all that is holy will everyone who doesn't know a damn thing about music shut up and think about what you say

  • Lol the singer is a real amarican 'cool guy' stereotype

  • wow they sound like trash

  • @tomT024 this is an example of a band that sounds good on recordings, but not live.

  • @rhshorses24 What are you listening to? It isn't that big of a difference between recordings and live. The quality of this video is just complete shit. If you want to see a example of what you said, listen to Three Days Grace.

  • @GreenDayFtw0 i love this band and three days grace but to be honest three days grace sounds betten then any other band ive heard

  • @jokerm63dg Some songs they do good love. Others are terrible, like pain. It is clear how different the recordings and live versions are.

  • @GreenDayFtw0 i guess but at least they dont lipsync.id rather sound like a complete shit live than lipsync

  • amazing!

  • really good live, really good

  • Is this Nickelback?

  • @heirtoruin Crossfade.. it says it in the title.. nickleback sing's about the same though but nickelback's songs can get tiring..

  • sounds off since i normally listen to the music video but thats a great performance :)

  • for a live preformance its not bad vocals. but i can't really hear the bass that well, then again the quality of this video is terrible

  • love the solo and what the bg singer guy does before it with the never meant to be so... coolddd....

  • Crossfade release new album 'We All Bleed' in April of next year!!!

  • the optional vocalist ( the just kinda thier) seems kinda useless to the band.

hand him an instrument so he doesnt seem so useless

  • @sithor551 He's not in the band anymore.

  • @sithor551 Yes, he really does. He should learn to play the guitar. Its kinda simple and he could learn it in a few months...

  • @pstickel1337 let's hear your voice and listen to a song you wrote. or let me guess...you play guitar so you are more talented than someone who possesses the skill set he does. right???

  • @zume2600 Every douche is able to play the rythm guitar and btw, his voice also sucks. So its kinda silly to stand there on stage doing almost nothing.

    And yes, im more talented.

  • @pstickel1337 hahah! i love it! i love to make waves on something as trivial as YouTube. Okay, cocksucker...let's here what you have, cause you don't have a record deal and you aren't worth what he is worth. lol!

  • @sithor551 so since he is a dj, vocalist, and songwriter you think he needs to add another talent to his repertoire??? jeez, you fuckers are demanding aren't you. who do you think co-wrote this song, genuis???

  • @sithor551 Not only that, he has a really small range, adds absolutely nothing.

  • @sithor551 He is you see that bad ass dance he is doing?

  • @sithor551 Disagree,Tony is fine where he is.

  • @sithor551 its just the band selling out, trying to appeal to a wider audience unsuccessfully

  • @sithor551 he isnt with them anymore, Les (bassist) does the back up vocals now and it suits the band much better.

  • @malcolmcox Mitch is the bassist not Les.

  • @SlitMouthWoman Thanks, haha for some reason I always get their names mixed up. Maybe just because he looks like a Les to me. XD

  • @sithor551 Hand him an electric triangle! Those are easy :D

  • wow im impressed

  • They're the first band I've seen who has a member who's only job seems to be singing badly. Otherwise great performance

  • @johncellis89 He's not in the band anymore. Actually he also was their DJ. He's pretty good actually, the video quality is just meh...

  • @johncellis89 singing badly??? you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. are you talking about tony byroads??? that guy can sing his ass off. probably even better than ed sloan himself. check the acoustic video at youtube/TheUndividedband

  • shame he dosent sound as good on he does on recordings but, recordings will have some technical shit done to it...all bands/rappers or anything else have technical stuff on there recordings.

  • @PrideOfTheLeafs yeah true its that studio magic wich makes it sound amazing.

or is Ke$ha's case sounds like dog shit lol

  • AaaaaAaaaAaa ai!

  • Liebe GodBlesseDD, mach doch bitte eine deutsche Übersetzung von dem Lied, ich finde nähmlich keine und ich wüsste gerne was das heißt.

  • GEILES LIED!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Prime example of an over produced album.

  • Lol everyone sounds better in recordings than they do live...it's called a "studio" ... for a live performace this is damn good.

  • @dustdemon87 actually, Theory of a deadman sounds better live, and stone sour sounds awesome too, but crossfade isn't the greatest live. This used to be my favorite song until I heard this live. 8(

  • @kuledrumergie87 then u turned your back on them? some fan u are, turd.

  • @zume2600 I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find where I said I was a Crossfade fan. If you could find that, please tell me, because I'd like to see it. I said this was my favorite song. In fact, it's the only Crossfade song I know.

  • @dustdemon87 Look up Amy Lee. ;)

  • @dustdemon87 wrong. artists/bands that sound as good or better LIVE are the ones worth a shit.

  • @dustdemon87 RHCP bro theyre better live.. alway..

  • @BryanGNRHCP1 the singer of RHCP is shit live

  • He sounds much better on recordings than live.

  • I can't believe how crappy the beginning of this song is live and then how they turn it all around,it's a good performance.

  • lindo grupo muy serio y bueno sin poses cojudas o pelucas de chivatos, buena musica y buena letra

  • eargasm

  • omg amazing!
