  • la amistad

  • @paulkofgeminis "Very, very better", huh? Lol.

  • "Don't talk about the 13th..." BEST HBO SERIES OF ALL TIME

  • The guy chopped a head off with a dull shield. This is just impossible for human's strength alone, no matter what anyone says. After that he killed like a dozen "trained gladiators", who obviously couldn't cut a scarecrow without missing. Then comes the big ugly guy, who actually is slow like a moron rather than a fearsome warrior. 5:27 - 5:29 is a ridiculous move, really. No wonder he lost his leg.

  • @HugoDeftz Actually scutums and most gladiator shield used metalic sharpened borders, so you can use them as weapons, and Tito Pullo use a totally metalic shield, so it is perfectly possible. Also, consider that he is a veteran soldier, not a show-up combatant like a gladiator

  • @lenin25051986 You mean all the borders? Because pausing around 2:23 there is clearly a flat border on both shields, unless only the bottom border is sharpened or something.

  • @lenin25051986 even with a dull shield you can still do that if you are stronge enough. It just goes to show what we are capable of.

  • @HugoDeftz It's the ancient Roman equivalent of "Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy" if you've ever read TvTropes. The first three guys maybe, but all the others? At least they show Pullo on his last legs and about to die before being saved. Rambo or Arnold would have been unscathed after killing 20 guys.

  • @paulkofgeminis "Very, very better"? You're wrong, anyway, it sucks. The slo-mo fights, the crappy Xena-esque sets, bad acting, gross historical inaccuracies... It's appealing to those who enjoy video game violence with 300-style explosions of blood.

  • i must have watched the bit when vorenus stabs the dude through the neck about a million times

  • 2:10 head is chopped off.

    2:17 head is magically reattached?

  • @buzzedbunny123 i know right! i noticed that too haha

Sublime.

  • @darsus19

    The number of the Legion.

  • @StellandBlood thought so,why are they beeing punished for saying it?

  • @darsus19

For a roman legionary a insult to its legion was something very severe, the legion was something sacred.

  • @StellandBlood i noticed:P

  • 5:45 - 5:55 OMG

  • i really thing it was a shit scene. too unrealistic and slow.

  • that was some hardcore shit

  • I get pretty emotional watching this scene, after all tidus and lucius have been through up until this point. Wheh Lucius jumps in + the music, I get kinda teary-eyed.

  • @ easilykilled. I watched this series, you know? :)

  • @Niegrzeczek They are making a rome movie "HBO" I heard. Hope its true.

  • @Niegrzeczek. The man fighting for his life was an ex-legionary hero. Hence '13th' He was sentenced to death because he was drunk and stepped from formation and hit the officer; who helps him at the end of this, during a siege.

  • god i loved the part when he chopped of tht dudes head with tht shield

  • Mięczaki nie wiedzieli z kim zadarli! Hahahaaa...

  • So did this in Rome! Arena - the name comes from the scattered sand. No man slipped on the blood fighting for his life, usually unsuccessfully. He fought with the pros, real butcher's! So if the criminals were sentenced to death, a mob came to look at how today MMA gala ...

  • best scene of the whole series

  • Bolocks lol English!

  • THIRTEEN!!!

    THIRTEEN!!!

  • TREEEEEDECIMAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • PROPRIATVS - Latin for owned.

  • this is fake

  • Now i do not know if this is true or not But I thought Roman citizens as titus pullo was were not allowed to be sentenced to death to fight gladiators as gladiators were slaves. I thought they would be executed for a capital crime in private, or exiled.

  • the show isnt meant to be accurate. The writers stated they were more interested in showing the true gritty side of rome, as opposed to the glamour of it most movies. Aside from that, it's not supposed to be taken as historical fact.

  • Are we sure Poullo was a citizen. As he states on a couple occasions that is was from "Narbo". The city currently known as Narbonne, France. The Romans did not extend citizen ship to all the people they ruled.

  • @BrendaQG He's speaking of Narbo Martius which was a Roman settlement in modern day southeastern France. Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus are known to have existed as they are the only non-patricians mentioned in Ceasar's diaries and they were both soldiers.

  • Yes the same Narbo Maritus which over time and some name changes became modern day Narbonne France.

Being a roman soldier, did not imply that one was a roman citizen while they were a soldier. As I recall citizenship and land were a reward for some recruits after they retired. As I recall it was only after the empire was established that roman citizen ship was bestowed upon all Italians living south of the river Po. So Pullo while a soldier would not have been a citizen.

  • but he was a legionary and they gave citizenship for service

  • I know your right. the thing about the show though, if he had citizenship then he wouldve been beheaded. But I guess they both did desert the army in the show too. your right though.

  • sad for all those gladiators died . they didnt wanted to fight...

  • violenta

  • THIRTEEN

    My favorite fight ever.

  • Ah yes. The "two headed gladiator" scene.

    Great stuff.

  • 13!!!

wish they made a third season =(

  • This show was just a little too over the top. Wonderful sets and action, but everything was just overdone.

  • It's Ancient Rome, what else do you expect from such a grand Empire?

  • Can you spell owned?

  • o-w-n-e-d

  • this isnt spartacusis it? im sorry ive only seen bits and peices of this series

  • Nothing to do with Spartacus, he died 40 years before this was set. That is Titus Pullo, who was a real person as well as his friend, Lucius Verinus.

  • ok thanks yea i figured it wasnt noticing he wuz part of the 13th legion but it kinda just seemed it

  • Only in name. No record of their lives exists.

  • I loved this scene, I loved the Titus Pullo character in the HBO Series Rome. Varinus comes to his aid as all soldiers do, 13...13...13....

  • This is the greatest thing I´ve ever watched. Even any movie on the cinema, anything. It´s absolutely perfect in almost everythingm although the historical events are not always true. But it doesn´t make the serie´s image dirty. It´s perfect, better then all I´ve watched. I can feel myself in the ancient rome. Colored, alive, and not passive with everything in a boring white.

  • @jefersonmatos very well put

  • The beauty of this movie is that is very credible, with no exaggeration in special effects or mega emotional soundtrack..good naturalism.

  • the guy in the spiked helmet resembles Jason Statham a little bit, sounds like him too.

  • Nice upload, Ray Stevenson owns!

  • talk about courage

  • What I am saying is, don't make blind arguments on Chinese Empire if you don't know anything about it.

  • fucken italian..do u noe where pasta noodles and pizza came from? or fireworks u guys use in celebration?

  • I accept remarks about different peoples of chinese empire, probably China is better documented in the east than Rome. However, roman empire influenced a good half of mankind, in this side of world and beyond. There is no comparison.

  • Beyond Rome, what influence was there that makes you think China cannot compare with? Chinese Empire's inventions influenced a lot in things in many areas that Rome has no comparison.

  • Rome is shit.. only half of europe and midterrean sea countries, look at mongol empire. The greatest empire in world made by asians, next to the brits.

  • The Roman Empire was one of the greatest empires that have ever existed. Not to say that Chinese Empire is not as great. The Mongol Empire is just an empire forged on war, the Mongols had it easy, they aren't a complex civilization as the Euro, Chinese or the Arabs they defeat, there is no point in attacking Mongolia but Mongols had every reason to attack others. If you compare Roman Empire with Mongol Empire, the Mongols are dwarves. Making pasta comes from China, we all know, your point?

  • Roman empire? greatest? LOL yea at europe, not so in empires. A tiny tribe of mongols conquers almost all of Eurasia.. including eastern part of europe. Isn't that more greater? Complex? how is they not complex when they influenced europe too. My point is that Roman empire is just an exaggeration..no shit comes from Roman empire. Chinese empires had been around 4,000 years.

  • Learn to read mekon, I said its one of the greatest.

If the Mongols conquered the whole planet, they are still not great. That is because they are not a complex civilization. No matter how big your Empire is, its still shit if it has no real culture, no real agriculture and everything is on war. Rome is way greater than Mongol Empire, the Mongol Empire was just big, nothing else is special about it.

No shit comes from Rome? They had thermae bath, toilets, apartments, what does Mongol have?

  • asiatics had bath, toilets, etc.. heck we made toilet papers... the point is that wat did roman empire ever contributed to world? Nothing, u noe why? they copied from greeks and made olive oil. That's it. Haven't the mongols impacted eastern europe, especially Russia? West always looked up to East for a lot of things. We asatics, dnt need to get propaganda from whites about how great is roman empire. They are nothing to our history.

  • Asians had baths, toilets, yes but not like Roman ones, which were way better. The Asians used buckets, Rome had public toilets with advanced sewage, they had public hot room cool room baths.

Rome contributed a lot to us all. They were the first to have shopping malls.

  • wow... u want to gloat on advanced sewage now? or even shopping mall? Learn asian history and see how much we were more advanced than pity romans. They even took our architectural advancements, one of them: the arch.

  • Don't tell me to learn Asian history. I am Chinese and I learned my country's history. All you're doing is gloatin Asians over Europeans.

Yes Romans had shopping man, we Asians had it after the Romans. It is ironic how you're making claims while telling me to learn Asian history while you don't seem to know about Rome.

  • Aren't u proud of ur asian heritage.. dnt let these fools think they are more advanced than us.

  • I am proud of my Asian heritage, but being proud does not mean you have to say others are not as advanced as us. I personally do think in many areas the Asia were more advanced than Europe, but in other ways, Europe are more advanced than Asia.

  • you guys made shit out of wood not concrete which the romans inveted

  • yea made out of wood not concrete

  • but the chinese used steel while romans used iron and bronze.

  • the romans had steel

  • Noric steel wasn't as strong as carbon-intermediate steel.

  • i've read that romans might have had a form of damascus steel but thats besides the point

  • well, that would be impossible since it was formed in 1100s to 1700s. But they did have noric steel.

  • where did you think they got it from the

    again i said might have

  • The Noric steel has mysterious origins, in and on itself. :)

  • elevators

    concrete building

    ball bearing

    water filtering systems

    metal plating sytems

  • I would only give the roman credit with their invention of concrete.

  • @BlloodRayyven Well i would add the "REPUBLIC", the "SENATE", "the JURIDICAL SYSTEM", the "ACTUAL EUROPEAN VEHICULAR SYSTEM", "DRAINING SYSTEM", almost the 50% of the actual european cities were founded by Romans and yes they took the good GREEKS inventions and concept to bring them to the rest of the world! Not bad for a small sheeperders vllage that was Rome in the 700 B.C.!

  • Im backing BloodRayyen's point. Roman Empire had bigger impact than mongol. Mongol empire was bigger sure but it didn't have as stable a foundation and lasted much shorter.

  • You sir sound as if you do not truely grasp the revolutionary changes the Mongol Empire had on the world. During the Mongolian empire the Silk Road was reestablished and maintained far safer then it ever was, allowing knowledge and goods spread between east and west. Not to mention other great empires grew out of the Mongolian Empire like the Mughals
