I'm deathly frightened of this aircraft. Just conjures images of twisted metal. I had the displeasure of flying from Rome to Milan on one (or another variant, I don't recall).

io ho viaggiato da linate a heathrow terminal 5 con un british airways 737-400 ed è stato bellissimo viaggiare in un ora e qualke minuto dentro questo aereo...xo' quello dell'agenzia viaggi ci ha detto ke potevamo viaggiare o con la british o cn l'alitalia...lui siccome è un amic di mio padre non ci ha fatto pagare il volo andata e ritorno...cmq è bella londra e anke il terminal 5...ciao

Certo che si viaggia bene. La famiglia DC-9 e usato da compagnie mondiali dai anni 60, quindi la Douglas sa quell che fanno.

Per i viaggi di un'ora o poco più non è male. Ho viaggiato 4 ore su un md80 ed è stato veramente uno dei peggiori viaggi mai fatti.

High angle take off. I experienced sth similar some time age while taking off on short flight from Naples to Rome on Aitalia MD-82.

One remark. While on board I've spoken with Aitalia pilot who used to fly on MD-82 (now flies B767) and told me that MD-82 is more difficult plane to fly than B767. Generally speaking MD it's less stable on the approach. There is some time before plane reacts to rudder movement.

i believe that the MD80 is a difficult plane to fly. you are right..it is wobbly on landing. a 767 is alot more stable.

You are comparing a 767 to an MD80, that is like comparing a Honda Civic to a Cadillac Fleetwood, the heavier Jet is going to be more stable, whereas the lighter smaller jet will not be.
